I appreciated the deep river of wisdom flowing through this book. I really liked how the author was able to entwine spiritual lessons about trusting God within an enjoyable romance. Part of this book takes place in Panama, and the exotic setting was described in a beautiful way. I thought this book was lots of fun.

I really enjoyed this story. I usually read historical christian romance, but I was very satisfied with this more contemporary story. I was intrigued from the beginning and kept interested through the whole book. I love how the two older woman pray to get Taylor and Brent ...... oops don't want to spoil it. You will enjoy this.

I like my romances with a little side of intrigue, and that's what author Mary Ball delivers in Stone of Destiny. It's a romance, so it follows the patterns, yet with its own fingerprint, starting with a rather gruesome murder and the loss of an heirloom. Fifty years later, Taylor Harrison is the epitome of a modern career woman, much to her grandmother's pride and dismay. Taking Taylor's destiny in her hands, Grandma tries to make light of selling the family home, a home Taylor spent much time in as a child, and uses the old lady excuse to shame her into staying there to oversee remodeling. And of course the remodeler is a hunk ... and the sparks of battle turn into sparks of romance. Grandma also asks Taylor, while she's packing up the house, to look for the missing family heirloom that has been handed down for generations, woman to woman, in the family, a sapphire ring. Eventually Taylor finds it...and learns its powerful secret. Modern romance with all the angst and realism that go along with making choices. Taylor's dilemma over whether she could truly have a dual life of corporate exec and family joy is well-played, as is the hero, Brent, who bides his time, but is also willing to make sacrifices. Well done. Nice weekend read, told from three different points of view.

I found this a very interesting book! It had some suspense but yet no evil or unwholesomeness at all in it. I found it hard to lay down once I had really got into the book.  I rated this book as five stars! The stars w here will not stay at five stars though even after I tried twice to get it to be five stars. I t was a light romance . I recommend this book for those who like/love a light/mystery/romance book. one can read without feeling guilty afterwards for reading this book like some romantic /mysteries can be. I received this book free in exchange for an honest  review. Thank you Mary L. Ball for allowing me to be able to read and do the reviews for you as we'll as for those future readers to he,yes? Reviewed by Trudi LoPreto for Readers' Favorite Stone of Destiny by Mary L. Ball is the story of Taylor Harrison, the youngest CEO of Mugful’s Beverage Company. Taylor has only two things in life she really cares about: Mugful’s and her Granny Kay. Taylor strongly believes there is no room or time in her life for romance and love but Granny Kay thinks otherwise. Taylor cannot refuse when Granny asks her to take some time off to oversee the renovation of the family home and search for a missing heirloom ring that has been lost in the house for over fifty years. On her arrival at her childhood home in Liberty Cove, Taylor begins to unpack, settle in, and reminisce about the loving life Granny Kay provided while her parents traveled the world. Taylor soon meets Brent Roberts, the contractor, and though she finds him very attractive, they do not get off to a very good start.  Taylor depends on prayer and God to get her through the next few weeks until she can return to Mugful’s and her all-important career. Granny, on the other hand, is praying that Taylor will realize there are more important things in life than work. When Taylor does find the ring and begins to wear it, strange and unexpected dreams and ideas seem to pop into her head. Mary L. Ball has written a love story that I read and shared from beginning to end with Taylor and Brent. Stone of  Destiny is fiction with a very real-life feel. It is Fairy-tale Romance vs. I Am Woman and I Can Do It All. Stone of Destiny is a good Christian love story that deserves a five star rating. I would love to see this become a TV movie. I highly recommend this book.

This is the second book by Mary Ball that I have read. The first one was a mystery/suspense that had me guessing all the way to the end. This one had me intrigued and wondering all the way to the end what path Taylor was going to choose. This story starts out with a bang, literally, and I was wondering how I was going to put this book down to sleep that night. I love decorating and watching HGTV so I was especially interested in Mary's description of how this old house was being renovated by our very special hero. This book also takes place over a period of time so it is not an insta-love, but one that grows. Though sometimes I did get aggravated with Taylor for some of the choices she was making that would have resulted in a very lonely life. Brent, our hero, was very patient, knew what he wanted, and pursued Taylor by not be overbearing or controlling. The dreams Taylor would have added an air of mystery to the whole plot and kept me turning the pages just to find out with Taylor why she was having them and what they meant. This book was provided to me by the author and the opinions are my own.

Wake up and smell the coffee, Taylor!  Guys like Brent don't come along very often.  This is a realistic story about the way a young woman can  be so focused on her career she loses sight of what is really important.  This is a mug full of romance,  flavored with a detour to Panama from down-home North Carolina.  Good read!

Stone of Destiny by Mary L. Ball is a wonderful story of romance and one finding their way back to God through faith and trust. Taylor Harrison is the youngest CEO at the Mugful Beverage Company and she feels that her life is complete. With great trepidation she agrees to oversee the renovation of her grandmother’s family home. Fifty years earlier, a sapphire ring was lost in the house and Granny Kay wants Taylor to search for the ring as the renovations are being made. After finding the ring, Taylor begins to have strange dreams and she is even making phone calls in her sleep at night. Brent Roberts is the nephew of Granny Kay’s best friend and he has been hired to do the renovations to the house. When he and Taylor meet, she is definitely not impressed even though she thinks he is the most handsome man she has ever seen. Brent is very much in tune with what God wants him to do with his life. His faith and the way he shares his knowledge of God cause Taylor to start questioning some of her beliefs. She soon realizes that she can only find happiness through a true faith in God. The development of the plot, the characters, the dialogue, and the description of all the scenes were done in an excellent manner. The characters were so real that at times I wanted to shake Taylor and would not have minded if Brent gave me a hug. Granny Kay is the kind of grandma that everyone would love to have and her love for Taylor was a very important part of the story. All the action taking place in the book was so well done that in my mind I was struggling right along with Taylor as she worked to make her decisions and I was pulling for Brent to win Taylor’s heart. I really appreciate the way that the author handled the romance in the story and how Taylor regained her faith in God and finally trusted Him with her life. Searching for the missing ring added a little suspense to the story. Would she find the ring or would it be lost forever? I highly recommend this book. If you like a wonderful story with lots of romance, a little bit of suspense, and a story in which faith in God plays a big part, then this is the book for you. Thanks to the author, Mary L. Ball, for providing me with a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

A ring which disappeared after a senseless murder fifty years ago holds all the hopes and prayers of Taylor Harrison’s family. Taylor is far too busy as the youngest CEO of Mugful’s to take time off to oversee the remodeling of the Harrison family estate, but does so at the request of her Granny Kay. There’s one more thing, Kay has asked her to find the ring. The contractor, Brent, hired to do the job surprises Taylor on her first morning at the estate. She thinks he’s cute, but her career is the most important thing in life next to her grandmother. When the walls start coming down for the remodel, Taylor searches for the ring until in the final room, beneath the floor boards, she find it. She’s found something else, too. She’s interested in Brent, but not enough to give up her career. Once she begins to wear the ring, she has a series of strange dreams. She’s torn between the definite fork in her road to success. Are the dreams real or is it God trying to tell her something? Mary L. Ball writes an intriguing suspenseful story. The book is a delightful read full of suspense, romance and the destiny for those who follow God’s will. Well done, Mary!
