A violent nor'easter leaves Meg Wolf stranded on her uncle's private island with a handful of quirky relatives, her three children, her brand-new fiancé... and her ex-husband, Jack! Meg has moved on from her bad-boy ex, really she has. After all, her fiancé is a well-to-do, buttoned-up lawyer, just the kind of stable stepdad her kids need—and the kind of second husband she needs after an impoverished upbringing that left her longing for financial security above all. He's certainly an improvement over Jack, who owns a brew pub and has no use for the nine-to-five life or a regular paycheck. It's why they divorced.
And if her fiancé doesn't turn her on the way Jack always has, well, you can't have everything, right? Once the storm hits and the lights go out, Meg is determined to resist her sexalicious ex and do whatever she has to, to get through the most strained Thanksgiving family reunion in history.
An awkward love triangle is one thing. A murder mystery is another. And that's what it looks like when one of the wacky relatives turns up dead. Suddenly fingers are pointing and everyone is under suspicion, and Meg discovers what really makes a man.
A feel-good romantic comedy about second chances. Winner of the RT Book Reviews W.I.S.H. Hero Award, thanks to yummy bad-boy hero Jack! Originally published as Jacks Are Wild.

About the Author
Pamela Burford comes from a funny family. You may take that any way you want. She was raised in a household that valued laughter above all, so of course the first thing she looked for in a husband was a sense of humor. Is it any wonder their grown kids are into stand-up comedy and improv?
It should come as no surprise that everything Pamela writes is infused with her own quirky brand of humor, from her feel-good contemporary romance and romantic suspense novels to her popular Jane Delaney mystery series, featuring snarky “Death Diva” Jane, her canine sidekick Sexy Beast, and a fun love-triangle subplot. Pamela's own beloved poodle, Murray, wants you to know that any similarities between himself and neurotic, high-strung Sexy Beast are purely coincidental.

What a great second chances story. As Meg arrives at her uncle's island home for Thanksgiving with her three young daughters, she is shocked to find her ex, sexy Jack Wolf, has also been invited for the holiday, by her uncle's young wife. Jack had jumped at the chance to spend time with his girls and Meg whom he still passionately loves even though she divorced him two years prior. Enter Meg's new fiance into the mix and it becomes a holiday to remember. This is a well written novella length mystery romance with quirky characters and a really hot bad boy/good man hero. I can't believe Meg left Jack for the reasons she did, but I love that he didn't begrudge her misguided decision and still wanted her back. Now to select my next read.
Loved this book because of the humor, romance, and mystery to be expected from Pamela Buford. A few surprises also helped!
