About the Author

I'm a New York Times bestselling author of epic steampunk fantasy novels set on distant planets. All my stories have an adventure at the heart, mixed with a liberal sprinkling of romance and intrigue. To confuse things, I also write adventure travel books set firmly on planet Earth. Weird, I know, but it makes me tick.

I live in Western Australia with my husband, Andrew, my three daughters, a yapping Toy Pomeranian, and a fantastic farm cat called Pixel.

When I'm not writing, I'm reading, traveling, herding kids around, taking dogs for walks, and avoiding all cooking.

Great anthology! All great authors, with wonderful word building skills. My favorite is The Fall of Sky City: Queen Nix, one of four Queens of The Hand of Tarot, is determined to eradicate any Family that refuses to surrender to to her and The Hand. Dunn is captured and tortured, by managed to escape. He must fight her compulsion to return to her in order for he and his friends to fight Nix and The Hand for the freedom of all the Families and their people. Well written, with a great plot and characters. Fast paced action, with plenty of twists, loved it!!! I received a complimentary copy and freely give my honest review.

This review is for a story in the anthology, Blades of Ash by S.M. Schmitz, a prequel for her Unbreakable Sword Series. I really loved this story, I'm a bit of a mythology (and history) geek, and this story has pantheons from a few world myths. I liked the way the characters interacted and behaved in this story. Good read overall!
