About the Author

It's not necessary to be of Scandanavian descent to be brought up in a small town in North Dakota but it helps. That way you don't stand out in the community. Humor is the only defense against losing your mental balance if you are living on the frozen prairie, regularly attending the local Lutheran Church where everything but breathing seems to be a sin and there is no live entertainment. Escaping at seventeen by enlisting in the military was the only solution.
Honing a sense of humor to a fine point was accomplished by living and going to college in New York city. Twenty years of subway and suburban commuting required a certain whimsical attitude to get along with the crowd. Writing humorous novels came kind of naturally. Social satire is the result. Using scientific facts and twisting them to an almost unrecognizable state creates the platform for the humor. Outrageous behavior results when one is confronted with unbelievable circumstances. A sense of humor bordering on the edge of hysteria suits best for novels of wild imagination.
