About the Author

I'm 22 years old and can be found hanging out somewhere in Kansas City, Missouri. (Though, truth be told, you are more likely to find me on my bed in my small studio apartment.) I've been writing for as long as I can remember, and reading for even longer than that.

Awesome bartenders, hot blondes, and raging hormones all come together as "Stuck in Estrogen's Funhouse." Marti is having a bad time in her life and she's not sure what exactly is going on. She fails a pregnancy test, can't eat anything other than lasagna, and has this crazy attraction to some blonde stranger at work. What baffles her is that she is perfectly healthy (the dr. says so), loves her job, and is very happily married to a great guy. Will she let these strange thoughts come between her and her hubby? Does she have something major going on physically that they can't pin down? Come follow her story as she finds her way through these crazy times and see how simple things can turn out in the end. This was the first thing that I've ever read by this author and to be honest, wasn't sure by the title what exactly to expect. Turns out, this novella was very enjoyable and a really quick read for me. Ms. Gier took a very common issue with women and turned it into a very good story showing exactly how crazy life can get when your hormones are totally out of whack. Her characters are really fun to get to know and the dialogue between them is very well done. I look forward to seeing what this author will come up with next. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys contemporary women's fiction. This book was kindly provided to me by it's wonderful author for my honest review.

Since you can read the attached synopsis, I won't delve into the story too much. I have to say that this isn't my usual genre, but I really liked the book. It had a great balance of humor and severity that allowed it to come across as very realistic. I especially enjoyed the main character Marti. She maintains integrity, humor, and strength even as her world is being flipped around. All in all this is promising work from a great new writer and any fan of chick-lit should check this book out stat!

Funny. Seriously - who fails a pregnancy test? Dr. Duck is both a clever and an incredibly stupid name that had me cringe each time I read it. This book is cute and fun with some tidbits on health that had me wondering if the author did some research - and if they were true, or total fiction. Spencer, the husband, is a true work of fiction. No man would ever be that wonderful, patient, or understanding. Other than needing to be edited - or at least read through by the author - it was a cute book.
