About the Author

Jean Mary Stone (1853–1908) was an English writer. Educated in both Paris and Germany, she became a Roman Catholic, but stayed within the Jesuit community in England. She is the author of a number of books, including Faithful Until Death (1892); Eleanor Leslie (1898); Mary the First, and Queen of England (1901). She also contributed works to several periodicals, including the Dublin Review and Blackwood’s Magazine.
