Publishers Weekly has praised Tawna’s offbeat romances with multiple starred reviews and noted, “There’s something wonderfully relaxing about being immersed in a story filled with over-the-top characters in undeniably relatable situations. Heartache and humor go hand in hand.”

Tawna lives in Bend, Oregon, with her husband, stepkids, and a menagerie of ill-behaved pets. She loves hiking, snowshoeing, standup paddleboarding, and inventing excuses to sip wine on her back porch. Studmuffin Santa is book #.05 in the Ponderosa Resort Romantic Comedies series by Tawna Fenske. I’ve been stalking this series for awhile now. I mean, just look at this cover. I thought it would be a fun, light hearted read. While it was fun, it was so much more. The characters were so easy to love, both with pasts that haunted them. And there was the bit of suspense added in as well. There was actually quite a lot in this little book, and I loved it. Jade King and her sister Amber are trying to get their new business, Jingle Bell Reindeer Ranch, off the ground. Jade is a veterinarian and takes care of the reindeer while her sister is mostly dealing with the business side of things. They needed a santa for their Christmas season and Jade’s sister didn’t hire an older man with a beard and big belly. No, she hired a sexy man Jade remembers from high school, the football quarterback, the object of her teenage fantasies. Brandon Brown has spent the last thirteen years in the marines. But the failing health of his father has brought him home. It was time, though. Christmas does not hold good memories for Brandon. But when Amber tells him that little things have been going wrong on the ranch and that she would like him to both be their santa but also to try to figure out what is going on, he accepts the job. A santa/security guard job is perfect while he figures out what is next for him. The first time Brandon saw Jade, he was taken in by her. Her eyes drew him in unlike anything he’d ever experienced before. He doesn’t remember her from high school at all but is anxious to get to know her now. Jade does remember Brandon. She was bullied in high school and still carries the scars from it. But she’s a different woman now. She had such a crush on the high school version of Brandon but this is a different man. The more she gets to know him, the more she wants him. But, so does every other female within a hundred mile radius. He does look good in that santa suit! While these two get to know each other, things continue to go wrong on the ranch. And then something happens that makes their past collide with the present. We also get to meet Brandon’s cousins who own the Ponderosa Resort. I’m already in love with this family. This was fun, sexy, sweet and just wonderful. I couldn’t stop turning the pages. This is only my second book by Tawna Fenske which I need to quickly rectify. I am definitely going to continue this series. The next book is Brandon’s cousin, Sean and Jade’s sister, Amber’s story in Chef Sugarlips. I can’t wait to read it.

What could be a better Christmas setting than a reindeer ranch? Jade and her sister, Amber, were working to get their new business, Jingle Bell Reindeer Ranch, running. As a veterinarian, Jade took care of the animals while Amber handled the administrative side. So it was Amber who hired Brandon as Santa. But he was a marine and their age, so not your typical Santa. That turned out to be good for business, though. Thanks to Brandon's looks, there was a lineup of moms taking their kids to see Santa. Jade wasn't happy that Amber hired Brandon because she remembered him as a jock in high school. All the girls had loved him - including Jade. He was quite a player but didn't notice her back then. He sure noticed her now! This story was not what I expected from the cover. I thought it would be quite steamy. Even though there were some hot moments it's basically a sweet love story with an HEA. But it was suspenseful, too. Mysterious things were happening around the ranch that endangered the livestock and made things tough for the women. Who was doing this? I was surprised to find out. While I was reading this book, I was caught up in the suspense and was chuckling, too. Loved, loved, loved the ending. Thank you for writing such a sweet, sexy and funny Christmas book. 5 Santa hats for this book.

I loved this book. I think many kids go through what Jade went through as a teenager, but there really isn't a role model for them. She is a heavy kid who is bullied by the jocks and cheerleaders (and pretty much everyone) because she's not like them. So what if she's heavy or not into sports and loves her animals. Everyone needs something. She grew up to be a fabulously strong adult, even though some of her old insecurities surface occasionally. Jade has a hard time believing someone like Brandon could like her. What she doesn't realize is that people grow up over 13 years. What people used to like in high school is not necessarily what they like now. Brandon has finally found someone who accepts him for who he is not who he used to be. I think this was a good romance and has a good premise behind it. I love the happily ever after, but I love the ups and downs along the way. That is real life. I love the incorporation of the reindeers and the Grinch. Overall, a great book.

NUMBER OF HEARTS: 4 Hello Santa!!! I really enjoyed Brandon and Jade’s story! Brandon is home to help his family but needs something else to do with some of his free time. Playing Santa and watching Jade’s back is right up his alley. Jade is a tough cookie who wants to do everything on her own. So when her sister hires the new Santa for the season she is happy until she learns who will be playing Santa. Brandon and Jade are so sweet together. It was fun to watch them both try and fail to fight their draw to each other. Studmuffin Santa was a very cute story! With a lot of good information on Reindeers!! Yes, Reindeers!!! So much stuff I didn’t know. I hope that we get to visit Jingle Bell Reindeer Ranch again soon. Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy of this book from Tawna Fenske in exchange for an honest review. This review is my own opinion and not a paid review.

Full disclosure: I’ve been a fan of Tawna Fenske’s work for years now, and I know I can always count on her for a great read. And “Studmuffin Santa” is no exception. One of the things I love so much about this book (and all Tawna’s books, for that matter) is that she is writing about to real, flawed people. The characters, Jade and Brandon, feel authentic. They act like regular people, and talk like them, too. For me that makes the story all the more engaging. I was also really interested in the setting. Oregon in winter sounds lovely, but add reindeer to the mix and it gets even better. There were just enough reindeer facts to make it fun, but not too much that it overran the story. And what a sweet story it is. While the book isn’t quite as long as some of her other work, Tawna manages to pack quite a punch of emotion into it. It has lots of funny moments, but the more serious aspects really got to me. The characters deal with childhood trauma, illness and letting go of past hurts. I actually teared up a time or two. It really is a feel-good story with a wisp of Christmas magic (and a few hot and sexy times!) added in. I highly recommend it.

Brandon Brown wouldn't be Jade's first choice for Santa, he's everything Santa is not, he's gorgeous, has a finely tuned body, and has some serious sex appeal... but her sister seems to think he is just what they need to get their business off the ground and running. With him around there is sure to be trouble, men like him seem to attract attention, attention that she is sure won't help her new business... not to mention he is a constant reminder of her hurtful past. But, after a few weeks at the sleigh, he begins to prove her wrong, he is a hit with the customers... and maybe even her too! Studmuffin Santa is a whimsical and sexy holiday tale that is sure to make your heart nice and toasty! The moment you meet this unlikely pair you will fall for them, they are brought together for the sake of business, but they soon start to realize there maybe another reason too... they have some serious chemistry!! Their story came with so many moments that I could relate to, appreciate, and swoon over, I loved my time with them! Highly recommend you get your hands on this sexy little literary gift, you will be thrilled with what you unwrap!! I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this title.

When Jade and Amber King's parents retired and left the area for warmer climes, the girls took over the family farm. Rather than continuing pig farming, they decided on a more unique concept - a reindeer ranch, with real reindeer and Santa at Christmastime, and hosting country weddings in the warmer months. With Jades background in animal medicine and Amber's marketing skills, they have a great opportunity to build a successful business. When Amber hires hometown hero, Marine Brandon Brown, former high school football star, home for family business, Jade is less than thrilled. Brandon does not fit the typical Santa mold, and she's worried the impact of having a hot young Santa with a six-pack will have on business. But - Amber hits the mark on this one. Studmuffin Santa brings the moms in by the droves, and business is booming leading up to Christmas. Amber had an ulterior motive for bringing a Marine in to play Mr. Claus. Odd things have been happening around the farm - small enough that they can be written off as someone being forgetful, but too often to be coincidental. Knowing that Jade is both stubborn and independent, Amber hires Brandon to play Santa while trying to get to the bottom of the incidents happening around the farm. The thing Brandon didn't anticipate when he took the job was the instant pull he felt toward Jade. And while Jade feels the same pull, Brandon represents to her the divide she experienced through her high school years, being an awkward teen and living on a pig farm. While Brandon didn't participate in tormenting Jade, he was part of the popular crowd, and his presence brings up a lot of old insecurities. Studmuffin Santa is both funny (I literally laughed out loud while reading), sweet, and spotlights the reality of bullying and its lasting impact on a person throughout their life. This story highlights familial support, personal growth, sweet AND spicy romance, wrapped up in one smoking hot Santa package. I recommend you one click this puppy TODAY!
