Gary Bailey is the legendary former goalkeeper for Manchester United and nowadays he is a a motivational speaker. Succeed under Pressure is based on his highly successful business talks, which are largely inspired by Sir Alex Ferguson’s leadership abilities as manager for the United. Bailey is that rare breed – a former footballer with an MBA from Henley in Oxford – and as such has a unique view on one of the most pressurized businesses in the world: top-flight English football. In this book, Gary shares the business lessons he’s learnt on dealing with pressure and aspects of leadership in an easily accessible, humorous and informative manner. Although most businesspeople are under huge pressure these days, not much time is spent helping them to deal with, or even thrive on, pressure – which is what Gary had to do as a goalkeeper, the toughest position on the pitch, for the biggest club in the world ... and what Sir Alex has been doing for the last 26 hugely successful years at Old Trafford. In this book, Gary shares the business lessons he’s learnt on dealing with pressure and aspects of leadership in an easily accessible, humorous and informative manner. Foreword by Sir Alex Ferguson, the revered long-time manager of Manchester United, arguably the world’s most popular football team.
