I confess...I AM a Janie Franz fan...SUGAR MAGNOLIA is a well developed tale about a spoiled musical star who thinks anything and everything with a double X chromosome should fall, panting at his feet begging for him to honor them with a moment or two of his attention. Shivaun Corbin has been sent to the musical brat's home to design a retro cover for his coming soon comeback album. He surrounds himself with the band and his very pregnant girlfriend. People who adore him and feed into his narcissism. Janie Franz creates people that are so real you either want to wop them upside their heads for being idiots, or pull them into your arms and assure them everything's going to be alright. There is fire, passion, fury, and adventure for Shivaun and for the lucky reader. Janie Franz pulls you in, holds you captive and leaves you panting for more long after you've read the last word. SUGAR MAGNOLIA...most definitely FIVE STAR material. Ms. Franz...you leave me breathless.
