I have been hooked on this series and this book was no different. I always thought of sean as a jerk but fell in love with him in this story. I am waiting on pins and needles for Ryan and Leah story. I hope my wait will end soon.

I read an arc by the author who I am in fan page with and I was so happy I got to read the book and review it for her. I got hooked on her first story Blind Attraction and they all are pretty wonderful. I am not a typically a fan of rocker books and series but Eden Summers writes such fantastic stories and creates these wonderful characters that I fall in love with them all. Now while this story is probably supposed to a standalone, you at the very least should read "Undesired Lust" book 3 because the characters and situations spend alot of time on what happened in book 3. The basics from book 3 is that Mason and the hero of this book, Sean were BFF. They worked on this song with Sidney, a wholesome rocker, it got nominated for a grammy or won a grammy, I can't remember but on the night they celebrated teh win, they all got drunk and had a 3 some with her. They taped it and it was supposed to be private but it was not and the whole world saw it. It destroyed Sidney's career and life, Mason who was into Sidney is devestated because Sid blamed him and Sean had a thing for Sidney to. All this happened in book 3. In the end they find out who releases the video and Mason and Sid get together and Sean is left in the cold, which is pretty much where book 4 begins. Its an engagement party for Sid and Mason who are both very happy and Sean being the BFF is forced to be there and is pretty devestated. So he gets drunk and thats when he meets Melody or Pixie or Red as Sean names her. Melody has been hired as the choreographer for the song that Sid and Mason wrote during their reconcilliation. As you can see book 3 is very tied to this book. In this story Sean whos is the drummer is ready for fame, he has always had a back seat but he finally is ready to be in the limelight. Melody has been in the limelight for years until an accident made her quit and now she teaches dance and she now is choreagraphing this music video. They meet and they are instantly attracted. Sean is looking for something to distract him from his feelings for Sidney and Melody is just looking for something fun to make her feel good. They really are both wonderful characters. Despite their heavy emotions about the things in their heart and their losses, they fall for each other in a very fun way. I was not a huge fan of Sean before. I LOVED Mason and Sid and Sean was their major issue in book 3. But in this book he is wonderful and his whole personality comes right thru. If you like your heroes sweet but also muscley and gruff then you will love Sean. Melody is very confident on the inside on the outside she is very vulnerable and I think they were really perfect together. The only thing I did not love about this book was the ending. A bunch of stuff happens at the end with Ryan, Leah and the band. No spoilers here. I would have loved an epilogue or one chapter more, but because of what happens I totally understand why it couldn't go on. I cannot wait for book 5 with Ryan.

This is book 4 in the Reckless Beat series and it features kilt wearing drummer, Sean Taiden and dance choreographer Melody Jenkins. They each have issues that are crazy complicated. My heart breaks for Sean multiple times during this read. Melody is quite conceited at times and it made her NOT my favorite character in this book. Sidney is pretty naive and even Mason is clueless for a minute. This story is sexy, funny, emotional and I loved it! This author and her dirty talking, sexy rock stars keep me coming back for more. The banter between all of them is the best and I can’t wait for the next book!

SULTRY GROOVE (Reckless Beat #4) by Eden Summers 4.25 stars-- ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date May 8, 2015 He wants the world and the admiration of everyone in it. Sean Taiden, the inconspicuous drummer of Reckless Beat, is sick of living in the shadows of his bandmates’ success. He’ll do anything to gain the recognition he deserves. Even if it means dancing in a music video to the Reckless track that drives a knife into his broken heart whenever he hears it. The saving grace is the tempting choreographer who may be the one person able to distract him from the agony his life has become. All she wants is the peace that comes with solitude. Melody Jenkins knows all about fame. She knows enough to determine she doesn’t want a part of it anymore. After quitting her professional dance career, she set up a quiet studio and focused on starting a new beginning away from prying eyes. Until a sexy drummer strides into her life, making her crave something she can’t have while also pushing her to expose secrets she can’t bear to reveal. Conflicting aspirations and one inextinguishable passion. She needs to hide from the world she once owned. He wants to rise to the top, proving to himself and his friends that he’s always been the heartbeat of the band. Caught between what they need and what they want, Melody and Sean have to decide which is more important—their individual plans for the future or their feelings for one another. REVIEW: 4.25 stars---SULTRY GROOVE is the fourth installment in Eden Summers’s contemporary, adult RECKLESS BEAT erotic, romance series focusing on the rock band Reckless Beat. This is drummer Sean Taiden, and choreographer Melody Jenkins’s storyline. SULTRY GROOVE can be read as a stand alone without too much difficulty although I recommend reading the series in order as each storyline builds upon the events of the previous book. Told from dual third person perspectives (Sean and Melody) SULTRY GROOVE focuses on Melody and Sean as they rehearse for an upcoming video for the band’s latest release Fighting Against Attraction. Sean isn’t is a good place –emotionally or mentally-and watching his band mates find love and their happily ever after increases the unhappiness in the drummer’s life. Sean wants to be noticed; he is sick of being ignored by the fans and the paparazzi; and living in the shadows isn’t doing anything for his rock and roll ego. When the chance comes to star in the band’s latest video, Sean jumps at the chance only to come face to face with the most beautiful but damaged woman he has ever met. Hoping to use Melody as a distraction to everything that has gone wrong in his life, Sean begins a sexual seduction of the choreographer only to realize that Melody is the woman he wants in his life. Melody is hiding a secret; a secret from her friends, family and everyone she holds close including the man with whom she is falling love. And it is that secret that keeps Melody from the life that she once loved, and from telling Sean the truth about why she no longer dances in the spotlight or in front of a crowd. I will add that Melody’s issues of self-esteem and her need to constantly pull back and away, were both heartbreaking and frustrating. The sexual attraction between Melody and Sean is immediate but Melody’s first introduction to Sean finds our hero drunk and disorderly as the celebration of Mason and Sidney’s engagement. Sean has always had a thing for Sidney, and tries to use Melody as an outlet fo

5 star I was pulled right into this story. The story flowed well and I could not put the book down. This story contains heartbreak, betrayal, suspense, pain, secrets, and laughs  I would recommend reading the below before reading this story: Blind Attraction (Reckless Beat, #1)  Passionate Addiction (Reckless Beat, #2)  Reckless Weekend (Reckless Beat, #2.5) Undesired Lust (Reckless Beat #3) This is Melody and Sean’s story. After his best friend and the girl he wanted got together Sean is just going through the motions. Sean needs a distraction. Melody has secrets that she hopes are never revealed. When Sean calls her a distraction she does not know what he means. She wants him but she does not want him to know her secrets. The more they dance together the closer they become. But when Melody finds out Sean’s secrets and what he meant by a distraction she feels so betrayed. Can they move on from the secrets? Will Sean have his success but be without the woman he didn’t know he would ever be able to have?  I loved these characters and also the side characters. You get a glimpse of the other band members in this story but it really concentrates on mason, Sidney, and Sean.  I highly recommend this book, this series, and this author. Can’t wait for the next book in this series.

Summary  Sean Taiden, the drummer for Reckless Beat, is in a dark place, the woman he loves is marrying his best friend. And to make it worse, on their engagement party, he is to give a speech, which breaks him even more. Sean has always come second to his best friend, and tries to attempt to drink his sorrows away, and never thought the only woman to keep him from thinking of Sydney…a gorgeous pixie with red hair and a smile to warm his chilly heart. Melody, was a professional dancer, she loved it, she had fame and glory, a gorgeous boyfriend, and her family supportive and loving, she had the world at her fingertips until an accident changed her forever, and she gave up her family, lost the man she loved, and now has to be content to run a dancing studio. She is on a job for Reckless Beat, to choreograph a couple dance where Sean is one of the leads. But their first meeting, he is drunk as ever, never calls her by her own name, and tempts her with a reckless passion….because she would hate to lose the man that makes her heart beat again when he looks at how damaged she is, will Melody have the courage to have faith in their love and trust Sean with every part of herself… The Hero  Sean, is the drummer and the heart of Reckless Beat, but in Sean’s mind he will always be in the background. He loves music, loves the band, and has stood by them ever since high school. He loves the beat and soul of their music, but the life they lead, is starting to take its toll on Sean, especially with just about every member in the band happily married and in love, and to lose the one woman he knows can never be his. Sean is a hero with flaws and vulnerabilities which makes the story even better. You can connect with him on a human level, he makes mistakes, has a broken heart and soul, he is beaten and worn down, but he is real and vital, and you sense so much more from Sean. He has this strength he doesn’t know of a the beginning, but you see him become more after meeting his “red pixie”. The Heroine  Melody has a passion for dancing, she is talented, and was famous, and thought everything couldn’t get better. She was the center of the spotlight, and she was proud of what she had accomplished and she was living her dreams. But in a motorcycle accident, she was scarred, her whole thigh, and had to have surgery and it still pains her. Melody life changed in that moment, and she knew that she had to give up everything, her family, friends and her dancing, and it tore out her soul to do it. The man she loved rejected her because of her injury, and now she refuses to let anyone know or see her injury. Melody just about broke my heart. She had this carefree and witty attitude but she was also handicapped by her past and her injury. She has certain fears and insecurities, and has this self pity that just about consumed her at times, but you also see this inner strength, a woman who has gone through hell, and pain and grief, but lives in fear of the future and of herself. You see her move past all that and become willing to face those fears to be with the man she loves. Plot and Story Line  Sultry Groove is a story that moved me so much I needed some tissues. This was a very emotional one for me, probably the most emotional one I have read from this author. The characters are very heartbreaking, and I found myself spellbound by every aspect of Sultry Groove. But there is also a steamy and lighter side to it too. But the majority of the story we see the true inner parts of human nature, and how our lives can change in one moment. The way this story is written, is very melancholy at times, but it gets to the heart of us, and you feel connected to the characters in a very moving way that you don’t expect to find. What was the most impact was seeing these two damaged souls, come together and find a passionate yet tender love. They are both strong people, but both have suffered in different ways, and both need to heal. We see this happen slowly but surely, you see the growth and the change, and as the story unravels, we see them grow closer, and face certain demons too. It’s a story that you can connect with on an emotional level, and I felt a kinship to these two. They just might be my favorite couple of the series. The way these two fight for each other, and from beginning to end I was overwhelmed, and I loved every moment of seeing these two face their pasts and fears and come together in a glorious ending. I just never wanted this story to end, it was tragic and beautiful, and heart wrenching at times…one of the most satisfying reads I have read in a long time….this is a must read for ANY romance lover, so take my advice…BUY your copy NOW!! The Cover  This is just as sensual and gorgeous as all the other covers in the series…but i love the pink background, with the drum set at the bottom and seeing the coupe pose here…Magnifique. Overall View  Sultry Groove is a love story that is packed with steamy action, endearing characters, emotionally charged enough to bring tears to your eye, and a tale of facing your fears so you can embrace true love…a tender love story to reach your heart!!

*Complimentary ARC provided by the author for the purpose of an honest review. Out of all the couples in the series thus far, Sean and Melody were my favorite, and not just because the heroine was a dancer. I had no idea that the love Sean felt for Sidney went THAT deep. He called it pathetic, but I found it heartbreaking. As if his love life wasn't enough of a problem, he was tired of being the invisible band member. Of all the guys, he seemed the most...normal. But he did have a few moments that made him come across as a jerk, but I blamed that on his tunnel vision where Sidney was concerned.  I was stunned and disappointed by Sidney and Mason's obliviousness to Sean's distress, or perhaps they just hoped it would go away with time and they wouldn't have to talk about it. The irony wasn't lost on me that Sean wanted more fame, and he eventually fell for a woman who couldn't get away from fame fast enough. I was a little torn about Melody. She was very perceptive early on about being only a "distraction", and aside from telling him about her scars, she was open and honest with him. Her inner monologues indicated that she'd been a completely different person before her accident that left her badly scarred. She used to be flirtatious, confident, outgoing, large and in charge, and at the top of her game. I couldn't blame her for not wanting to expose her scars or bare herself emotionally too soon. After all, I imagine how it would feel to Google the man you're falling in love with only to find a video of a sex scandal. It was one thing to know he was hung up on another woman and another to see or hear him having sex with her. However, I did tire of her pity party even past the 89% mark. Her sister gave her good advice; even Leah gave her a talking to, but instead of listening to them, she turned to her former boss for the confidence boost that never came.  When they were together and forgot the rest of the world, they were amazing. Sean was capable of such kindness and (com)passion, and he was amazing in bed. Their first time was off the charts hot! It was rough and dirty with a hint of dominance. Sean apparently liked a bit of pain with his pleasure and she matched him. The way he tried to help her in the end was a tear-jerker. The author also did a great job of describing the choreography of their dance. Despite some of my grumblings about the heroine, I really did like the story as a whole. It was also less angsty than its predecessors. Of the four books, this is the one I'd read again.
