About the Author

I write fun, flirty fiction, with feisty heroines and a bit of an edge. Writing romance is cool, because I get to wear pretty shoes instead of wellies. I live in a mountain kingdom in Derbyshire, where my family and pets are kind enough to ignore the domestic chaos. I love hearts, flowers, happy endings, all things vintage, most things French. When I’m not on Facebook, and can’t find an excuse for shopping, I’ll be walking, or gardening. On days when I want to be really scared, I ride a tandem.

It’s summer and wedding season, coincidentally while reading this the UK was enduring a heat wave! So Summer at the Little Wedding Shop was the ideal book to read while I sipped cool drinks in the shade. Now I may be a little biased (ok a lot) but Cornwall is the best place for the setting of this story. It’s wonderfully laid back and still catching up with places like London, so the prospect of a wedding shop with all it’s fancy flowers and wedding planners etc is delightful. Poor Lily is having a bit of a crisis, losing her job and accommodation means she accepts the offer to return to her former employer Brides by the Sea. She is highly experienced with flowers but can she cope with planning weddings as well? If falling into a pond and earning herself the nickname Water Lily is anything to go by she may struggle! I loved the scene where Lily listens to the radio around Valentine’s Day and to her dismay hears her mother .. a real giggle moment. Lily is a likeable character, she wouldn’t hurt anybodies feelings but things get a bit tense when she has to work with local guy Kip to arrange an event. He is direct competition with her friend Poppy so her loyalties are torn. She split from her husband so is anti-men .. can Kip ignite a little flame …. or is there a chance to catch a bouquet or find love .. read to find out. With three weddings to organise there is bound to be a few hiccups along the way! There is so much light fluffy content, friendship, humour, mouth watering food to tempt the reader, a real sense of awe at some of the preparations required for a wedding. The highs and lows, pretty dresses, flowers .. in fact anything that makes one feel summery and loved-up. Jane has a knack which allows the words to flow easily and make you keen to read and see what happens to these people she has created and invited you to care about. Summer at the Little Wedding Shop is the third in a series but it is perfectly possible to read and enjoy it as a standalone .. by why would you want to miss the others? Absolutely stunning and likely to be one of the books of summer 2017. My thanks to Jane, Harper Impulse and Netgalley for my copy which I read and reviewed voluntarily.
