If you are feeling stressed from work and don't want to read anything serious, or you are hanging out by the beach relaxing and want to read something light-hearted, Playing by Heart would be a great choice. It is a light-hearted, easy read with lots of great descriptions of Australia which will really make you wish you were there, and features a cute little kitten which will melt your heart (even if you are not a cat lover). As with the other books in the series, it is full of Aussie slang which is really interesting.

Pippa is back in Summer Beach again after living in England for six years. She is looking for a job teaching ESL while reconnecting with old friends. She rescues a kitten under the hood of a car, meets Dr. Matt Pearson-local veterinarian and thinks things are going well in her life when miscommunication, an ex of Matt’s shows up and work opportunities seem unlikely. Will Pippa find happiness in Summer Beach or need to move on? Thank you to the author for a copy of this book to read and review.

"Playing by Heart" is the fourth in H. Y. Hanna's "Summer Beach Vets" series. I really enjoyed this story of a young lady returning home to Australia. As she is exploring a strange humming sound under a car  that is parked in front of her house, that is not running, a good looking fellow bends over and asks her if something is wrong.. When she turns her head and looks into his eyes just inches away... Well, both find something more interesting than the strange noise under the car. When the good looking fellow scoots under the car and comes out with a poor, sick, weak kitten we find out he is a Veterinarian from the clinic  across the street. They both take the kitten over for an examination & from there on the kitten, Sparkie gets sparks to flying.. I thought this was a sweet clean romance and the antics of the kitten pulled the story into  a romance perfectly.. I'd recommend this to any one who enjoys a clean romance.  I found this can be read  as a stand alone but I sincerely think you would love all of  Summer Beach Vets series.   I was gifted a copy from the author for my honest opinion which I have given.

Matt, Pippa and Sparky Each book in this series can be read as a standalone, but they are better read in order.  You will meet new characters but have others from previous books.  Pippa has returned home to Summer Beach after spending six years teaching English as a second language in London. She and Dr. Charlie from the vets office were childhood friends. Pippa is trying to locate a job to be able to stay in the area. She, along with the help of Dr. Matt Pearson, rescue a tabby kitten. Before the kitten is taken to an animal shelter, Pippa decides to adopt it. The story has a friendship/romance starting between Matt and Pippa, but with some misunderstandings along the way. Can Matt and Pippa iron out their difference? Is his old flame Justine back in the picture? Can Pippa find a job and stay in Summer Beach or will she be moving to Sydney?  Disclosure: I received a gifted copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts, opinions and ratings are my own.
