Pure escapism, with lots of exaggerated violence, unconventional sex, and colorful characters duking it out on the streets of a dirty, crime-infested New York City. In three different, well-written novellas, the heroes - an eclectic group of crime-fighting vigilantes - fight to the death with majorly evil villains, including (but certainly not limited to) the most powerful gangster on the eastern seaboard, a bloodthirsty faction of the Chinese mafia, and a rogue Mexican general-cum-drugs baron. Very descriptive, exciting, and satisfying, with the action described in vivid detail. Anyone who enjoys action-packed stories of battles between good and evil should find this book to be well worth their buck.
