Overview

Carmen’s smart ass mouth might have gotten her into trouble too many times. The Elders call a meeting and Carmen fears it’s all because of her. To her relief, they call for a volunteer to go supervise the new witches down south. She needs to get away from her old coven and prays to the goddess above that the new coven will accept her as a permanent member. She wants to make a good impression with the new witches and hopes she can make a new home in Austin, Nevada. But when she imprints with a wolf and he wants to complete the bond, Carmen balks at the idea of a wolf witch couple. She can't make a good impression on the new coven if she's stuck with a wolf.

Aiden has always been an easy-going kind of wolf. That is until he imprints with a witch who doesn't want him. He needs to find a way to convince Carmen to complete the bond or lose his wolf forever. On his way back to make her see reason, Carmen is taken by a Devil Hunter. With so much at stake Aiden must find a way to keep his normally calm personality or risk losing everything.

***This book does standalone, but they're better when read in order.***

Carmen and Aiden are quite a couple, she is denying the bond and he is fighting to make her see the truth. Carmen was warned that wolf/witch couples were not ok, going to a coven to impress and possible move there she was surprised to see wolf/witch couples as an accepted venue. Aiden knows she is his but she keeps blocking him at every turn. Kidnapped by hunters, Carmen realizes she might have made the biggest mistake of her life. This was a great addition to an already awesome series. The characters are likeable, the storyline is easy to follow and keeps your attention right up to the end. I think the reader would get more out of the story if they have read the previous books as this is book 4 but you could read and understand even if this is the first you read. I enjoyed seeing how things were working out for the past characters and getting caught up in their lives. The storyline had some interesting twists and turns that I can't wait to see play out making me anxious to start reading the next book. The story is fast paced and can be read in one sitting so pull up a chair and get comfortable. I volunteered to read this story for my honest opinion.

Summer Solstice – Legend Series Book 4 by McKayla Schutt – 5 stars Summer Solstice is the 4th book in the Legend Series but it’s the first book I’ve read in the series. With the exception of the first few paragraphs (which obviously was a tie in to the previous stories) I was absolutely able to jump right it and enjoy the story. It’s a novella at 92 pages yet it reads as a complete story. The characters are well developed, the story moves at a great pace and the secondary characters are intriguing and seem to have their own stories to tell. I have added books 1-3 to my TBR. If you are looking for a quick standalone about witches, wolves and romance I would absolutely recommend this story.

Summer Solstice (Legend Series Book 4) by McKayla Schutt 5 Stars Even though this is book 4 of this series, it can be read as a standalone as that is what I did since this is my first book by this author. It won't however be my last. I am very much looking forward to reading the first 3 in this series and then book 5. I really enjoyed this book, would have loved if it was longer because I didn't want it to end. It had a quick flow and the characters were great! Carmen is scared that the meeting called by the elders is not going to play out well for her. She can't seem to stay out of trouble and has had her powers taken away in the past. To her relief the meeting is to ask for a volunteer to travel south to help a new coven of witches get set up and to make sure they adhere to the rules for the summer solstice. Carmen volunteers and hopes this will be the answer she is looking for. She wants to leave her coven and start new and maybe this is just the break she needs. Aiden, a werewolf shares second in command with one of his best friends, the other best friend being the leader. He is sent out to bring in a visiting witch and keep him or her safe till reaching the leader's home. As soon as he meets the feisty Carmen and touches her the imprinting is immediate and he must complete the bond within 3 days or risk losing his wolf forever. Although she is drawn to Aiden, Carmen just needs to meet the new coven and try to find a way to become a part of them and doesn't need this imprinting business to get in her way. Once she is safely at the leader's home and talking to her mom on the phone she is abducted by a hunter who believes she is sent from the devil to harm all humans. Once Aiden realizes his mate has been taken he heads out with his pack to find her. Can he get to her in time and if so can he convince her to complete the bonding so that his wolf is safe? Can Carmen find a new home within the new coven or will she have to return home and remain unhappy?

Summer Solstice (Legend Series Book 4) by McKayla Schutt is the fourth book in her Legend series. This story can be read as a standalone but I would recommend going back to read the previous books in this series. This is a paranormal, erotica, romance story that will keep you engaged until the last page. This is my first story by this author and I loved her creativeness of her characters and her attention to details. I loved the paranormal/fantasy parts of it as well. There are a few twists and turns that will leave you either sitting on the edge of your seat or needing ice water to cool off, either way, hold on to your book! This story will pull you in from the first word and keep you wanting more. Find out what will happen with these characters as they start a journey of finding what they are missing. When the Elders call for a meeting, Carmen thinks this meeting was called because of her. What she finds out is that they are calling for a volunteer to go help the new witches down south. She just needs to get away from her coven so she prays to goddess that this new coven will accept her as permanent member. She hopes to make a good impression with them until that changes for her. What will happen when she imprints with a wolf? One of the problems is that he wants to complete the bond. She doesn't want this to happen so she rejects him. How is she suppose to make a good impression on the new witches if she is with a wolf? Aiden has always been the easy flowing kind of wolf until he meets a witch. His problem is that she doesn't want him but if he doesn't complete the bond he may lose himself. Will he convince her to bond with him? He is on his way back to convince her when she is taken by a Devil Hunter. With so much at stake, he must find a way to keep himself calm or risk losing it all. Carmen and Aiden's relationship is not the typical that you would think. Carmen wants to be accepted and she feels that if she bonds with Aiden then she won't be accepted. She doesn't believe that this would be a good thing to do, create a witch/wolf pack. He needs to complete the bond or be lost to himself. He never expected to find his mate nor having to find himself convincing her of that. You will love these characters as they are just great together. She speaks before she thinks and is always getting into trouble. He never expected things to turn out this way. Will he be able to save her? What will fate have in store for these two? Will they complete the bond? You will have to read this book to find out! This is my favorite story by McKayla Schutt and I can't wait to read more of her books. McKayla lives in the State of Wyoming with her two children. She writes romance stories with sexy werewolves. You will love how fast paced this story is. I read this story in one sitting. I couldn't put it down and I don't think you will either. You will need to see what happens with this couple. They will take you on one hot journey. I highly recommend this story as I know you will want to see if this witch and wolf bond.
