I read this series with my ten year old son. While it is somewhat frustrating that we needed to read three books to get to the apex (pun intended), it was worth the waiting. The plot was interesting. It presented the moral dilemma of children reaching a goal while putting themselves in harm's way, and the adult ultimately responsible. The books do present the topic in a clear, cogent fashion. More historical information, or a few pictures of the mountain, e.g., Hillary Step, Lhotse Face, Khumba Ice Fall, would have been a good idea. Nevertheless, my son and I both enjoyed reading the series together.

What an anspiring book for climbers of young or old! Even if you are not a climber this book will interest you with all the heart stopping action, danger they face, and the stress of being a climber! Recommened: If read when 8 and up.

This is my favorite trilogy of all time! I've read it four times now, and I'm sure I will many more. You follow the youngest Everest expedition ever on a quest to reach the world's highest mountain. There are challenges, like bad weather, and then one of the four is terrorizing the others. One of them doesn't make it, and it's just a really realistic ending. Plus, they do summit the new record holder to the top! It's a great book, and I recommend it to everyone I see!

This story was not only a thrilling and an eventful story, but it told a story that could happen but has not. It was exciting and it definetally is reccommended by me. This story has many characters, to name a few: Bryn, Tilt, Dominique, Chris, Sammi, Perry.... Dominique is the youngest at thirteen. There are only four spots in the Summit group and there are nineteen 'contestants' at the boot camp. Then the first cut takes out nine.'THIS IS IN THE FIRST BOOK, THE CONTEST!!!' I won't give away the adventures in this thrilling, adventurous book. So read on!!!!!!!!

This was a great book! It got more and more exciting as I turned the pages! Mt. Everest is amazing. I'm still facinated by everything about Mt. Everest. Too bad for Tilt, I was beginning to understand him. That made the ending better. You'll have to read it to find out what happens! I really liked Sammi's personality. It added to the story. I really recommend it! It is really good and a fun read. It is certainly worth reading. At times, I felt like I was climbing the highest mountain in the world!
