Concepts are not discussed in depth. While examples of this are numerous, pages 43-48 demonstrate this deficiency. A typo was found on p.43 in the disk listing. P.35 is incomplete because he doesn't describe how to boot directly to single user from the boot ROM. More thought and editing should have been applied to the creation of this guide. This book may help pass a test, but it is not a useful reference. I will be returning it to the bookstore.

At last - an exam guide that covers all of the material required to pass the sysadmin exams. I'm studying for the '8' exams now, and getting this book has made life alot easier. The installation and boot PROM coverage is great - there is no 'walk through' in the Sun manuals. There's material in here about NFS, NIS, security, disks, files - you name it. The style is easy to read and the examples are fully worked. Excellent book all in all.

If someone has read this book, can they tell me why the content appears to relate to a network admin guide and the sample chapter comes from a system administration guide. I have just ordered this book on the basis of the contents guide but now think this was a mistake.
