Mallory Westbrook is ready to make her move on Jake Summerford, the boy – now man – she's been crushing on for years. Coming back to Magnolia Sound to celebrate her great-grandfather's birthday provides the perfect opportunity to show Jake that she's no longer a child.

The last thing Jake expected to do at his mentor's birthday party was to find himself kissing Mallory under the moonlight. Though he's known her for years, the thought of kissing her never crossed his mind. But the shy tomboy he once knew is gone, and in her place is a woman he can't resist.

They have one summer before they go their separate ways. Insecurity wars with the possibility of a future together, but it could all come to an end before it even has a chance to start.

About the Author

New York Times and USA Today Bestseller/contemporary romance writer Samantha Chase released her debut novel, Jordan's Return, in November 2011. Although she waited until she was in her 40's to publish for the first time, writing has been a lifelong passion. Her motivation to take that step was her students: teaching creative writing to elementary age students all the way up through high school and encouraging those students to follow their writing dreams gave Samantha the confidence to take that step as well.

When she's not working on a new story, she spends her time reading contemporary romances, playing way too many games of Scrabble or Solitaire on Facebook and spending time with her husband of 25 years and their two sons in North Carolina.

When I heard there was a new series from Samantha Chase I jumped at the opportunity to read and review. Having read several books by Samantha Chase I could not wait to dive in to Sunkissed Days. I really loved Mallory Westbrook and Jake Summerford’s story. There was drama, spice, romance and love; and although a quick read it certainly ticked the boxes for me. The relationship that Mallory has with Pops was so heartwarming and their banter just made me smile. Mallory returns to Magnolia Sound for the summer and meets up with Jake, her twin brother Sam’s best friend. Because of his relationship with Sam, Jake has designated Mallory to be off limits but Mallory is determined to change his mind. What will happen when a summer fling has the potential to become so much more? Can Mallory and Jake make a long distance relationship work? I cannot wait to read the next book about Magnolia Sound and Jake and Mallory.

Samantha Chase is amazing. She takes realistic characters, gives them real life and then makes the reader become invested in their lives. This is Mallory and Jakes story. They are both young, in their 20’s, been friends forever and are now feeling the attraction between them. What used to be a childhood crush has developed into real feelings with the potential for broken hearts. I was cheering for Mallory from the very first page. She came back to Magnolia Sound to celebrate her great grandfather’s birthday but also to show Jake that she is all grown up. She took her life into her own hands, turn it into a life that she loved, and was showing her strength by not sitting back and waiting for Jake to notice her. The strength, the self-esteem, and the lack of fear in going for what she wants making her someone I would like my daughters to look up to. This is a fun, easy, short book. It is the start of a new series on books from Samantha Chase.

I received a copy for review purposes Sunkissed Days is the prequel to Samantha Chase's new Magnolia Sound Series. This is like a warm welcome to the series and the characters we will see throughout the series. I felt blanketed in the warmth of Magnolia Sound. Samantha always creates not only characters that feel like family but settings for the story that are relatable and easy for me to imagine myself in. Pick up Jake and Mallory's story to get a taste of Magnolia sound.

First off, WHAT AN AWESOME BEGINNING TO A NEW SERIES!!!!! Kudos, Ms. Chase, phenomenal beginning . Sunkissed Days is the prequel to Ms. Chase’s new series, Magnolia Sound. Once I started reading Sunkissed Days, I literally could not put it down. I am FLOVING the introductions of all the new characters and cannot wait to read all of their stories. Second, Jake Summerford is a freaking idiot!!! Sorry ladies, I will NOT tell you why! See what happens when his neighbor’s great-granddaughter grows up!! Jake cannot believe his eyes when he goes to his neighbor’s birthday party and sees his great-granddaughter for the first time in a while. The last thing he expects is to fall for her, he has his plan set to go to college in the fall. But you know what they say, best laid plans and all…. Mallory Westbrook has had a thing for Jake for MANY years. To bad he does not feel the same way. This time, Mallory is determined to make Jake SEE her. And, by gosh, does he ever!!! I LOVED this book, every cotton pickin’ word! I definitely cannot wait to read what the future brings to Mallory and Jake, as well as the rest of the people we met. Thank goodness, the first book will be releasing in mid-March. EEK!!!! I cannot wait!!! Thank you for reading my review. Go ahead, hit that purchase button, you will not be disappointed!!!

This prequel to the Magnolia Sound series was a great quick read. It has every thing we have come to expect from Ms. Chase, love, lust, humor, and leaves us wanting more. I can't wait for the rest of this series!

Jake and Mallory’s love story did not end as happily as it started, and as I hoped, in Sunkissed Days, the prequel novel for Samantha Chase’s new Magnolia Sound series. We meet Mallory and Jake, her girlhood crush turned summer lover, as she stays in Magnolia Sound to help her great-grandfather Zeke with the Coleman house and grounds before she goes back to college. Watching the love between Jake and Mallory grow was wonderful but knowing that roadblocks and real life would be in their way, they really need to get past all that would be heartbreaking. They also really needed to communicate and not believe all that you hear or mishear while eavesdropping. Just when things get good the story takes a twist and leaves you with wanting to know more about what will happen between Jake and Mallory. Ms. Chase gives a hint of the direction the story goes in Remind Me, book one. Six years have passed and an idea of what Jake and Mallory have done during that time is given. The first few pages of Remind me teases and I need to know how Mallory and Jake work out their differences and stubbornness, I need to know about Pops and I need to know about Sam, Mallory's twin brother who seems to be dealing with something we are not made aware of; hopefully a future book will answer that concern. Ms. Chase provided an emotional tale rich with sexual chemistry, amusing banter, strong family connections and endearing characters; leaving me hanging. I highly recommend Sunkissed Days to other readers and can't wait to read more about this family from Magnolia Sound and see what else is in store for us readers.

Sunkissed Days is a great read for anyone who remembers what it feels like to be in love with a boy who does not see you. Mallory loves secretly and from afar until one summer when she decides to take matters into her own hands. When Jake finally sees her he realizes what he has been missing but can it last past the summer? I am impatiently waiting for the next book, Remind Me, because I cannot wait to see what happens next.

A charming prequel! Fair warning, this prequel will definitely leave you wanting the next book in the series immediately, but it's SO worth the back story between Mallory and Jake. Love is the last thing that either of them are looking for, especially knowing they're both leaving for college at the end of the summer, but it doesn't stop how they feel. I especially loved Zeke and can't wait to see how the story plays out in Remind Me!

Fantastic start to a new series! Sunkissed Days is a prequel to a new series by Ms. Chase and I'm already hooked. You know how there are second chance romances but you never really get the full story of where the couple began? Well, this book is that story. This tells the story of Jake and Mallory and where their relationship began and ended. The next book in the series is Remind Me and it picks up six years later and I can't wait for it. This looks to be an awesome series with a great coastal town, a loving family full of wonderful characters, and love around every corner.

Raise your hand if you have ever had a crush on a boy and decided to go for it. That is exactly what Mallory did with Jake in Sunkissed Days. Jake is best friends with Sam (Mallory’s brother) and she has been attracted to him for a long time. Mallory has grown up to be a beautiful young woman and since she is spending the summer in Magnolia Sound, it is the perfect time to act on her attraction. Sunkissed Days is a sweet story with a few steamy scenes involving Mallory and Jake. The setting is perfect and I truly loved the relationship between Mallory and her grandfather. I look forward to reading the rest of this series!

SUNKISSED DAYS is the prequel novella in Samantha Chase’s contemporary, adult MAGNOLIA SOUND romance series. This is twenty-four year old construction worker Jake Summerford, and twenty year old college student Mallory Westbrook’s story line. NOTE: SUNKISSED DAYS was originally released as a newsletter serial Told from dual third person perspectives (Mallory and Jake) SUNKISSED DAYS takes the reader back in time, six years earlier, where we are privy to the summer time relationship between twenty-four year old construction worker Jake Summerford, and twenty year old college student Mallory Westbrook. Home for the summer in Magnolia Grove, to celebrate her great-grandfather’s ninetieth birthday, Mallory comes face to face with Jake Summerford, four years her senior, and the young man on whom she has crushed for most of her life. Taking the first steps towards getting the man that she wants, Mallory makes the first move in what would prove to be a summer fling that will end in misunderstanding and broken hearts. What ensues is the quick building romance and relationship between Jake and Mallory, and the fall-out as their time together comes to an end as each heads in a different direction towards personal and professional goals. SUNKISSED DAYS is a story of family, friendship, romance and love; struggle and acceptance, pride and heart. Samantha Chase pulls the reader into a passionate and emotional story of first love, broken hearts and painful good byes. The premise is engaging; the romance is sweet and sensitive; the characters are animated. SUNKISSED DAYS ends on a cliff hanger-you have been warned.

What a wonderful way to start a new series! It's getting harder and harder to decide which series I really like. This is a prequel to the beginning of the series so everyone gets to know the characters. Great idea and a great story.

A new series by Samantha Chase! In Sunkissed Days Mallory Westbrook finally gets Jake Summerford to realize she's no longer a little girl. Mallory is in Magnolia Sound for the summer to help her Grandfather before she heads off to another year of college. Jake works for her Grandfather (Pop's) construction company and is heading off to college, though 4 years later than normal, himself this fall. It was wonderful to see these two finally let themselves give into a summer fling. Though Mallory is hoping for more. An overhead conversation leads to a misunderstanding that could end their relationship before it has a chance to get off the ground. I can't wait for the next book in this series.

Sweet Beginning!! This is the introduction to the Westbrooks of Magnolia Sound and specifically Jake and Mallory‘s relationship beginnings. This story was a little sexy, fun, flirty and romantic!! I fell in love with Pops! He reminded me of my own Granddad. The time that Mallory spends with him and the talks they have, touched my heart. I can’t wait to revisit the Westbrooks and Magnolia Sound again!

This prequel introduces us to Ms. Chases new Magnolia Sound series and what a wonderful introduction!!! It has ALL the emotional elements that make Ms. Chase's books so AMAZING!! The characters tug on your heartstrings and are so relatable. We've all had that teenage crush so we can put ourselves in Mallory's shoes when it comes to her feelings for Jake. Also her relationship with her great-grandfather really resonated with me as I spent all my summers with my grandparents and they are some of the happiest times of my life. This is what makes Ms. Chase's books so INCREDIBLE we invest in the characters because we can relate to them. I would definitely recommend this book and I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series. I was given an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

Full of warm, sexy and loving moments that made my heart soar and my body tingle. Samantha Chase takes us back in time to meet the Westbrook Family as they come together to honor and celebrate the patriarch Ezekiel Westbrook, “Pops” for his ninetieth birthday. As one of the original founders of Magnolia Sound most of the town is also included in the celebrations. I just really loved Pops, he is such a warm and wonderful character that everyone respects and looks up too. But the best part of this preview is the relationship between Jake Summerford and Mallory Westbrook. Mallory has had a crush on Jake for years but she totally captures his attention this summer. Their heartwarming coming together took me back in time, with all the feels and emotions of young, first love as well as the loss, emotions and heartache when everything doesn’t go as planned. So once again, as always in this prequel Samantha Chase manages to get inside my heart and soul. Staying there long after I’ve read the last page. I am anxiously awaiting the next book in this series, and I need it now!!! I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Mmm

Gah!!! What a fantastic introduction to this new series by Samantha Chase!! This story sucked me in from the start. The chemistry between Jake and Mallory was intense, and I loved the different sides they each brought out in the other. I loved being introduced to the family, and can’t wait to find out what Samantha has in mind for other characters (especially Mallory’s brother Sam). A perfect start to this new series I would highly recommend!!

I LOVE new beginnings!!! And this is a new beginning for fans of Samantha Chase. Magnolia Sound is a small, coastal town and we meet several new families, including the Westbrooks and the Summerfords. More importantly, this is the beginning of the story of Mallory and Jake. In this prequel to her next novel, Remind Me, we meet a young Mallory Westbrook. She has crushed on Jake Summerford, the older neighbor boy, for years. Every summer when she visits her Pops, the attraction grows. But he only sees her as the “too young” sister of his friend. This summer, she is going to make him notice her. And does he ever!!! It’s a summer of young love and all of the excitement of a new relationship. But summer is coming to an end and decisions must be made. Can they survive a long distance relationship? Do they have more than a summer romance? This series tugs at my heart strings already. Ms. Chase does an excellent job setting up all the feels. The small coastal town and the long standing families and traditions are an awesome way to start a new favorite series!!! I can’t wait for the HEA!

Mallory is a sweet and beautiful girl, who has had a crush on Jake Summerford, one of her brothers good friends, for a long time. But she never seemed to be able to catch his eye. While Mallory is visiting Pop’s in Magnolia Sound she hopes to change that. I was curious where this summer would take them, and how things would go when the summer came to an end. This was a wonderful book. I love the characters how they are young but hardworking, seem so in love, but still have everyday things to deal with. I love the setting how it’s so peaceful, makes me want to visit. And I love the storyline how it takes us on a journey of a summer love. I also love that it has a voice for both heroine and hero, being able to see what they both are thinking and feeling makes it even better for me. Reading this book made me feel happy, and made me smile. It does end in kind of a sad way, but knowing that it’s a prequel, it left me longing for more. I can not wait to get more of Mallory and Jake’s story along with more of Pop’s and Magnolia Sound!!

GAH! The ending of this story of first love left my heart bleeding for Jake and Mallory for the choices they made and the misunderstandings that happen when you eavesdrop where you shouldn't. Enough said in that little spoiler. This is the prequel to this authors next book and let me say I wish I already had it in my hands! Jake is 4 years older than Mallory and always thought of her as the kid who showed up to visit a couple times a year, that is until he got an eyeful of her this summer. Mallory has grown up and blossomed. She has always had a crush on Jake but this summer she is staying in Magnolia Sound to help her great-grandfather Zeke with the Coleman house and grounds before she goes back to college. Watching Jake and Mallory find their way and watching their love blossom was beautiful and knowing their are roadblocks and real life standing in their way they need to get past was heartbreaking. Communication! Needed to happen. That's all I'm saying. Read this one! Their full story is coming soon! **Received this ARC for review**

A great start to a new series by Samantha Chase. This is a prequel that will leave you wanting so much more. Mallory has returned to Magnolia Sound for the summer to spend time with her great grandfather. Her main goal of the summer is to run into Jake, her teenage crush and to prove to him that she has grown up. Jake soon realizes that Mallory is all grown up and can't resist her. Will this just be a summer romance or will it lead into so much more. Loved this story!! Great characters with so much chemistry that will leave you smiling. I can't wait to read Remind Me on March 12!! I highly recommend!!

Samantha Chase has a talent for reminding us to remember the emotions we can so easily forget. Sunkissed Days blends a few life lessons into what looks to be an emotional series. For Mallory and Jake a teenage crush could lead to an adult fantasy, if life doesn't get in the way of their happy ending. From heart tingles to heart ache, Chase takes emotions through some serious growing pains with this couple.
