Spoiler alert; one big cliché. I have liked earlier books written by Lamanda, but in the case, the editor should be fired. After drinking a bottle of scotch every day for ten years, within one week of sobriety, main character has been in fights with everyone from gangsters to SWAT team members and kicked all of their asses. Also, women love him and throw themselves at him. In particularly distressing scene, his trailer on the beach where he lives is thoroughly searched and torn apart looking for some incriminating papers. He is so mad that he goes in the cabinet and pulls out his gone and then goes under the sink to pull out his gym bag of ammunition. Apparently, the bad guys forgot to look here. Ending is even worse and the dialogue has at least a half dozen clichéd phrases from the 1950's. And by the way, the cops eat at Pam's donut shop at least 5-6 times. Come on Al, at least try a little
