Non-stop action with a variety of supernatural creatures with a strong lead character. {I received an eARC when I signed up to host the tour}.

Robyn has a messed up aura which means she has some magical abilities. She can sense auras, see ghosts and other creatures, and the ability to speak the Fairy language. On the same day that she is almost killed by a werewolf that she was asked to help she finds herself almost wolf food and the shaman that was supposed to help her split. Now a rich woman is asking Robyn to help her son, who is turning into a tree. Robyn goes on the hunt for some answers and finds out there is a LOT more happening. The Fairy Migration is happening shortly and the rise of Twelve, a group of super powerful people that were started to help fight evil, needs to happen if only the wizards can find out who the Cat chose so they can awaken the other six. I really liked this story. Robyn is snarky and tough. She has a great group of friends that help her out and are her family. She has odd abilities but she has accepted them and is trying to use them to make a living. The one thing that took away from the story for me is a felt this was a second book. It kept referring to Robyn’s abilities like we should already know what they were. Because of that I kind of felt lost. I also was a little disappointed in the ending. It wrapped up a little too perfectly for what was happening. I was left wanting more. Having said that I did really enjoy this story. The second book in the series, Supernatural Fog was recently released. I can’t wait to get a copy to see what happens to Robyn next. I received Supernatural Freak from I Am a Reader in exchange for an honest review.

Supernatural Freak by Louisa Klein is a supernatural fun book! The book slams you into the middle of a werewolf attack on the opening page and then it never stops. Our gal of the story has lots of it things going for and against her. She can see ghosts, weres, fairies and the like, she is in a family of magic users, has the help of her family ghost, and one of the rare individuals that can speak Fairy. On the down side, someone it trying to seriously kill her for this. She has evil genies in her cereal box, other worldly creatures chasing her and her friends, and some one stole her family ghost! She also finds she is more than just herself...can't tell more but you will definitely want to know! She is not a helpless female role but a go-getter and I like that. Lots of action and fun. Multiple surprises and creativity. A unique fantasy read. Refreshing. Characters are well developed and likeable. This is such a good book, I can't wait to follow this freak into book 2! I received this book for a honest receive and it in no way effected my review or rating. I am so glad I read it!
