This has to be my best book so far in this year 2015. As a senior executive, I found myself lost in the executive job market. Reading this book opened my eyes to the fact that understanding the players in the executive job market gives you a distinct advantage over your competition. It is dangerous to rely solely on the executive job boards and professional recruiters because these things are out of your control. While they should be part of your strategy, more emphasis should be on proactively positioning yourself in a hidden a market. I was able to make a transformation after reading this and now, I am clear on where I am going, on what to do and how to do it.
An extremely helpful book, teaching how to take control of your future in the executive job market. It's packed with clear and concise information about what you can do to eliminate reliance on job boards and mold yourself into a must-hire candidate. The author does a brilliant job of laying out an inspirational guide of do's and dont's when searching for your next position. I would recommend everyone in the executive field, from rookies to CEO's, read this empowering book.
I've read a lot of books about the job market, but this read had a genuinely unique and refreshing approach on finding success. This author's advice was not only helpful, but it was written in a clear and concise voice that I really appreciated. I especially enjoyed the chapter on cover letters. Overall, this was a great read that every job hunter should check out!
A must-have for any senior executive. Simon’s book ‘Super Secrets of Successful Executive Job Search’ is THE best book out there for any senior manager in the job market. His target audience is C-Suite executives, Directors, Presidents and senior managers looking to work for another company or applying for a new job in their current company. Simon’s unique and insightful methods are incredibly effective in getting ahead of others in any recruitment opportunity. This book covers all aspects of a job search, from writing the best cover letters and resumes, to nailing the interviews and what is best to do post-interviews. The key to Simon’s ideas is his method of identifying how typical executives think about job search and then identifying unique ways in which you can separate yourself from the rest of the pack, and make yourself more valuable to the hiring manager. He gets into the psyche of the senior executive and knows exactly how to advise them to be super successful and highly effective at tackling the job market. This book is a must-read for any executive looking to land the right job in the right company, and is worth ten times more than the list price. A must-have book.
As a CFO of a large multinational organisation, coming back into the executive job market after a number of years was fairly daunting. Like many others, I thought that a good CV or resume would be the ticket to my next opportunity - how wrong I was! The author clearly understands how the executive job market really works and goes deep into what he calls the "executive job market environment" and the "psychology of executive success". Even familiar concepts such as how to construct a resume and how to handle and prepare for an interview, are approached from a completely different perspective. The book is highly informative and entertaining in parts - the real-life anecdotes made me smile a number of times! Thank you Simon, for sharing your wisdom - your book is highly recommended!
If you are a person who found yourself searching for a job (no matter what the reason is), you will find this book helpful. It is separated into sections: environment, psychology, planning, and process that explain the job search process step by step. I really appreciated the author's insight in the psychology section, which gave me a new perspective on how to approach my job search - I now understand that my beliefs and thoughts play a key role in my success and how to go about changing / controlling them. I honestly learned so much from this book. The advice is a completely new approach to finding success in the executive job market and isn't like anything I've read or heard of before. I highly recommend this book!

The author knows his stuff and communicates in a friendly and supportive style to drive important messages home. I wish I’d found this book a few years ago. It’s a must read for any manager or executive serious about their career.
