Overview

Sometimes lady luck shakes your hand, and sometimes she smacks your face. Sometimes she does both on the same day.

Three years ago I met the most amazing woman. We were both down on our luck. Then I got that call—the one that tells you to get your buns on a plane to go meet your destiny.

But the girl was left behind. I didn’t have her phone number, and she didn’t know my real name.

While I became a professional hockey player, she became a superstar, with platinum records and legions of fans. And a slick, music producer boyfriend who treated her badly.

But fate wasn’t done with us yet. When Delilah turns up at a hockey game, I can’t resist making contact. The internet swoons when I ask her out on a date.

She might not remember me. But her jerkface ex does. He’ll do anything to keep us apart.

Good thing athletes never give up. This time I’m playing for keeps.

5 Star Review of Superfan (Brooklyn #3) by Sarina Bowen   This was a fabulous read. Sarina Bowen had me from the first to the last page hook, line and sinker. Silas and Delilah, are two halves of a whole; they are simply meant to be. Having met previously they are torn apart by circumstances but fate plays a hand and they finally have their second chance at a happily ever after. Silas is now a professional hockey player and Delilah a recording artist. These two have a history full of miss understanding and yet they are both drawn to one another. Can they overcome what life keeps throwing at them, or are they destined to remain apart? I fell hard and fast for Silas, he is just so swoon worthy that you cannot help but fall for him. I loved how all in he was. Not only was it romantic but there was also some suspense that had me intrigued. This was a well written, fast paced story with characters you cannot help but like and relate too.

Great love story. Missed the hockey season storyline but honestly this was my favorite one so far in this series. Keep writing!!! I promise to keep reading.

Superfan is so gosh darn adorable, you just want to cuddle it so the warm and fuzzy will permeate through the pages and straight into your heart. Not only does Superfan provide a wonderful romance but it also portrays a cautionary tale of the way in which spur-of-the-moment decisions spurred by emotions can often lead to major regrets. But that isn’t all, Sarina also manages to weave in a touch of suspense into the narrative where you question people and their motives. Silas is a total unicorn; all the available good traits a person could possess and Silas has them, it really isn’t fair that one person should be so wonderful. Although he has had his fair share of set-backs, it hasn’t resulted in Silas losing his innate optimism, which is a fantastic counterpoint to Delilah’s cynicism. My heart hurt for Delilah; it was easy to see how her upbringing in the foster system had affected her emotionally into adulthood. Compounded by her terrifying experience of being roofied, making Delilah very cynical and jaded toward people although desperately seeking unconditional love and acceptance. Unfortunately, this dichotomy has led to some major mistakes where Delilah had projected her dreams onto the wrong person in her life. Delilah and Silas met briefly prior to embarking on their journey to becoming stars in their individual fields. Despite their mutual attraction and natural understanding of each other, the timing was against them. Skip forward 3 years and a lot of changes in both of their lives when they are confronted with another opportunity to explore their connection. Although neither of their lives is particularly conducive to nurturing a relationship; Silas and Delilah are willing to put in the work to make this thing between them into more. I loved how the Bruisers all supported each other and helped bring Silas and Delilah together, as well as paving the way for the future. Getting to catch up with some of my favorite characters within the Brooklyn Bruisers added to my overall esteem for Superfan.

Squee! All the feels. Silas is the Brooklyn Bruisers goalkeeper, in the previous books his team mates have mocked him for his devotion to popstar Delilah Spark's music, little do they know that he met Delilah before she was famous and they almost went on a date. When Silas and his friends are watching Dallas play LA the cameras spot Delilah in the crowd and she's wearing the hated Dallas jersey! Silas reaches out on twitter and gets an LA jersey delivered to her, a bet ensues and Silas and Delilah are going on a date. Delilah has a lot on her plate, a stalker who sends her note written on cocktail napkins, an ex who is also her music producer and won't release her second album until she signs on for two more albums, and a bodyguard that she suspects is spying on her. She doesn't have time for some random hockey player, no matter how hot, but Silas isn't going to give up now he's got a second chance with the love of his life - he's all in. This is just sumptuous, Silas has had some hard knocks in the past but now he's hit the big time and all he needs now is the girl of his dreams; whatever she needs he's gonna give her, even if it's space. Trademark Sarina Bowen, swoon-worthy heroes and plucky heroines, great characters and a plot that keeps the reader enthralled to the last word.

This is book #3, in the Brooklyn Bruisers series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. For reader understanding, and to avoid spoilers, I recommend reading the series in order. Silas left the only woman who truly interests him behind. To chase a dream that has become more than a reality. Now he must find out if there is still a spark. He has to see her. Delilah has always wished she had that night with Silas AKA "Ralph" years ago. Is it tempting fate to try now? The heat between them is obvious, but can they get beyond the past and create what could be a future? This was such an amazing story. From start to finish I could not put this book down. Very hot and really good, the characters keep you mesmerized until all of a sudden your at the last page. Well worth the wait. ***This early copy was given to me in exchange for an honest review only.

Sarina Bowen keeps outdoing herself. Sometimes it is really hard to put so many feelings and impressions into words. Sarina Bowen is one of the best writers I’ve ever read, and she gets even better with each book she writes. There’s something magical about her voice that never fails to enchant me. I admire her talent so much, and always look forward to reading her, even when I’ve read the book 15 times already. I love everything about her books. She writes about strong, independent women and strong and respectful men. In my opinion, her characters are so lovable because they are actually good people, and they are relatable to readers because they feel like real people, even if they are professional hockey players or raising music stars. One of her trademarks is her ability to make you feel so much, to laugh and cry at the same time. She’s hilarious without trying to be funny. She’s truly a master storyteller. Superfan is Sarina Bowen’s latest hockey romance, and it’s a complete standalone novel, the latest addition to her Brooklyn Bruisers world, and one of her best yet. I sincerely recommend people to read all of the books, though. You might want to anyway, they’re all extraordinary. It’s always difficult for me to choose favorites when I’m talking about Sarina Bowen’s books, but Superfan is beyond spectacular. Finding words to describe my feelings about this book is almost impossible. It’s simply perfect. The story is fast-paced, intriguing, sexy, hot, surprising, sweet, romantic; everything a romance novel needs to be awesome. Silas Kelly is the sweetest guy alive, but man is sexy! Wow, he caught me off-guard. He’s definitely my new favorite book boyfriend. His chemistry with Delilah is off-the-charts hot and so intense. They are perfect for each other. Delilah is a raising music star with some confidence issues, but she’s strong and independent, she knows what she wants and how to get it. And Silas needs to show her that what she wants and needs is him. I loved Superfan. So, so much. I would give it ten stars if I could. Or twenty. I would love for people to read it, because I can assure everyone, there’s nobody quite like Silas. And everybody needs Silas in their lives.

Superfan was the blending of so many of my favorite tropes - second chance romance, sports, rock star, and even a touch of suspense thrown in for good measure. I couldn't wait to find out more about good guy Silas and what his story was with Delilah Spark. This is part of the Brooklyn series, but can be enjoyed as a standalone. I do recommend reading the previous books, however, because they're awesome and also because characters from those books do appear throughout the series. Silas was just as wonderful as I thought he would be and more. He was sweet and thoughtful, but also assertive when he needed/wanted to be. There was a gentleness and vulnerability to him that I found so endearing, but what I really loved was how well he listened and how patient he was. Yes, there were times he was unsure and nervous, but he was confident enough to give Delilah the control and independence she so desperately needed. I loved that he was all in from the very start and that devotion never wavered. It took a bit for Delilah to grow on me, but I really felt like she had the biggest transformation in the book. She matured so much and went from a naive and somewhat helpless young woman to a more independent and confident one. I really enjoyed seeing her come into her own and take control of her life. She did make some questionable decisions, but I felt like by the end she was working to make better choices in the future. Delilah and Silas were adorkably sweet, but also very sexy. I would have loved to have more history between them though to warrant the Delilah obsession by Silas. They certainly had chemistry, but I'm not the biggest fan of instalove and this seemed to go from zero to sixty in record time. I understand that their relationship was never going to follow a conventional timeline, but I still would have liked to see and feel them reconnect more after so many years apart. I'm also not entirely sure why Silas never reached out to Delilah in all that time, considering how they had left things. The drama with Brett and the suspenseful aspect of the story didn't entirely work for me and the resolution to it was a bit abrupt and almost too neatly tied together. I did love seeing all the Bruisers again though and that they played such a big role in setting things in motion. The nuptials that take place in the book had me squealing (I will NEVER tire of that couple!) and were such a treat! The epilogue left me with a huge smile on my face and it was the perfect way to bring Silas and Delilah's story full circle. A wonderful addition to the series! *I voluntarily read an advance review copy of this book*

What a wonderful read! I just had such a good time with this book from beginning to end. I am still fairly new to Sarina Bowen's work but I have absolutely loved each book that I have had the chance to read. I really enjoyed the previous book in this series, Overnight Sensation, so I was really looking forward to this book, especially when I realized that this would be about Silas. I am happy to report that this book lived up to all of my expectations. I fell head over heels in love with these characters. Silas is just about as perfect as they come. Sometimes characters that seem perfect annoy be but Silas was amazingly perfect. He was such a good guy who always seemed to know exactly what to say or do. As you would expect from a professional athlete, he was incredibly fit and I really enjoyed the scenes where we got to see him use a little muscle. Silas wasn't afraid to express his feelings and it was very evident how much he treasured Delilah. Delilah was equally amazing. She hasn't always had the easiest life but she is kind of a big deal now. Delilah is a very well known musician. Despite her fame, she really is a down to earth girl with a very soft heart. She is in a tough spot with her record label but is doing her best to make things work. She actually leads a rather lonely life so it was wonderful to see her relationship with Silas help her connect with others. Silas and Delilah just fit with each other. I think that it helped that they knew each other before either of them made it big. Since they both lived in the spotlight, they were able to see past the fame to the person underneath. Their chemistry was off the charts and I loved to see the sparks every time they were together. They were patient with each other and both seemed willing to wait if that was what was needed. It was a lot of fun to watch them fall in love. I would highly recommend this book to others. I found this to be a wonderful romance between two characters that truly seemed to be made for each other. I can't wait to read more of Sarina Bowen's work! I received a digital review copy of this book from the author/publicist.

You know you've read something special when days have passed and you can't forget the characters. Silas and Delilah are still grabbing my attention days after I've finished Superfan. It goes without saying that I fell in love with these characters. Superfan is a really sweet romance, something that doesn't always resonate with me as I tend towards books a little darker with an alpha male, but this one hit a nerve. I loved that Delilah was a superstar without that superstar personality. She was happier alone after growing up in foster care and only wanted to make music. She meets Silas right before her music career takes off and their early relationship was this brief, comforting balm for both as they were struggling with career issues. I loved that Silas wasn’t a superstar. He was just lucky and talented enough for a career in the NHL. His relationship with his teammates was real and comfortable. He’s a guy that anyone would be happy to hang out with. I loved how much he loved Delilah and was “that” guy for her. The one who loved her and saw who she was behind the wall she built. Their romance was so much fun to read with great banter, awesome chemistry, and wonderful understanding that depicted everything any of us would want. There’s a mystery that’s fairly predictable, but wasn’t without a bit of suspense. There’s lots of fun with the Brooklyn Bruisers, which was one of the highlights for me as I love a book that draws readers into the camaraderie between a group of people. Not every author does it well, but Sarina Bowen nails it. I definitely recommend Superfan, which can be read alone but is part of a bigger series. 4 Stars. Heat level: 3 I received this book from the author in exchange for honest feedback.

5 stars — Welp, it’s official. I think I have a new favourite Sarina Bowen hero. Also, this book was amazeballs. Silas is….SWOONTASTIC. He is everything I LOVE in a fictional book boy. He’s got some major beta boy vibes going on, though I suppose he’s a bit more gamma…but I’m gonna group him as beta, because I absolutely adore him and love all his sweetness. He’s genuinely kind, thoughtful, sweet, and seriously romantic. I LOVED the way he cared about all his friends and family, and obviously for Delilah as well. He said some of the sweetest things that just made my heart melt. Don’t get me wrong, he was NOT perfect. He sort of had a temper, he made some bad decisions on occasion, and he let his emotions get to him in the wrong ways here and there. But that kind of just made him more believable. I ADORED that he grew into his own confidence, and he wore it so well. I also loved how introspective he was about his past, and he was always wanting to be better in the future…which, I know, everyone sort of is, but for him it was something he actively pursued. And, for reasons I can’t define, I was actually taken off guard by how forthright and determined he was when pursuing Delilah, particularly in the bedroom. Not in a bad way, I just wasn’t expecting it. Silas made that sexy as hell though. So you would think that with all that gushing that it was a one man show, but YOU WOULD BE WRONG!! Delilah is NOTHING like me, but she was so complex and intriguing all the same. She had this rough upbringing that really coloured her perceptions of the world, and gave her a cynical bent. But she wasn’t all cynicism…deep down I think she had a really soft heart, she was just wanting to find someone to trust it with. I ADORED her covert acts of kindness, they made me melt. I also really loved how confused and uncertain she was, because I think we often assume celebrities are littered with confidence, but I think it’s often the opposite. She had the WORST case of imposter syndrome. But that just made *her* real too, you know? Honestly, I don’t think I could have picked a heroine who deserved Silas’s devotion more than Delilah did. As for the two together? Their love story was both fast and slow, with lots of twists and turns. I LOVED the glimpses of the past where they first meet, you could FEEL their immediate connection, and I just happy sighed all over the place. They just made sense together, and I was so happy when they finally got to a place where they could make it work. And dudes, steamy scenes were on point. As always, the cast of secondary characters were amazing. I loved seeing characters from past stories (and if you haven’t read them, I dare you not to want to go back and read them). I think the bond that the Brooklyn Bruisers teammates and staff have is enviable and fun and just happiness inducing. I hope it’s really like that in real life. I also loved Becky, Charla, Danny, Mr. Muscles, and more. Obviously I did not love Brett, and I was bummed that his name was Brett…no one wants the villain to have the same name as their hubby. But I did appreciate that the way that bit of mystery played out was not over the top, but actually believable. As always, I’m looking forward to more in this world, even if it branches off slightly from the hockey part. Ms. Bowen knows how to reward readers with great cameos and tantalizing bits for the future. But for now, I’m going to bask in Sweet sweet Silas, and Delilah

Let’s see, what do I like about this book? Well that’s easy, EVERYTHING! It had all the good stuff I have come to love and expect from a Sarina Bowen book. Superfan is such a sweet love story about these two amazing characters, Silas Kelly and Delilah Sparks, that is a few years in the making. It is at it’s core an adorable and romantic second chance love story that just happens to be about a hockey player and a pop/rock star. It is entertaining, fun, charming, witty, sexy and even a little suspenseful. There is a lot going on! The chemistry between Silas and Delilah is off the charts!! I was rooting for them all the way!! Silas is such a sweetie! He is not one of those full of himself athletes that relishes in all the ladies throwing themselves at him. Nope, Silas is not like that at all and that is what made him so darn easy to love! He has had such a crush on Delilah Sparks for years and his teammates know it and tease him about it all the time! (I love the cameos with the teammates and their women in this book) Delilah is sweet and down to earth and not at all a diva pop star. She does have some trust issues due to something that happened to her in her past, but Silas is aware and tries to help her. They both have successful careers going for them now, but that wasn’t the case when they first met. Now 3 years later, fate (or rather seeing Delilah on TV during a hockey game he was watching) allows Silas to reach out to her (in such a cute way I might add ❤️) and try and get another chance with her. And then it’s on!

Sarina Bowen leads the league with SUPERFAN (Brooklyn #3). Goalie, Silas Kelly (aka Ralph) gets a second chance with the girl of his dreams, Delilah Spark, who got away three years ago. This contemporary sports/Rockstar romance is suitable for adult readers. I love this book! I thought it was clever how Silas’ and Delilah’s tweets started the story, and then it goes back three years prior. I adore that these two got a second chance. They have amazing chemistry and really get each other. They both were poor and became financially sound. They are driven and talented. Fate plays a significant role in this story. The plot was skillfully executed. Brett Ferris was an intriguing antagonist. His history with Silas and his relationship with Delilah added to the story. I could not put this book down. Warning you may experience a book hangover. I recommend this novel to people who enjoy sports, Rockstar, and/or second chance romances. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

I think that Sarina could write a text book for some boring subject and I would drop everything and eat it up. She has once again out done herself with Silas’ story and Superfan! The Brooklyn Bruisers series continues with this latest installment; Superfan; featuring the Bruisers second string goalie Silas. And fans finally get an understanding into his infatuation with upcoming rock star Delilah Stark. Teased for his burgeoning love of the up and coming rockstar, Silas hasn’t shied away from his continuing support of her success. Little did the reader know that he knew her before she’d made a name for herself. Sarina and her cast of characters, along with her well developed and relatable storytelling is what draws readers in; it’s what draws me in. I am vested in her story and the lives presented throughout. I want to know what happens next, so I continue to turn the page. While Superfan can be read as a standalone, anyone wanting to dive into a wonderfully written sports romance won’t be sorry with starting this series from the start. Dive head first into the Brooklyn Bruisers organization, you won’t be sorry.
