Superhero is the story of a young boy with big dreams and a mask and cape. He dreams every night that he is an amazing hero. He can conquer any villain and the whole city relies on him for help. But when he meets up with two nightmarish foes, he knows that even a superhero needs to have someone he can call on for help. This story is about how a dad can be the real hero to his son. It also helps open discussions about what makes a real hero and how everyone can be a hero to someone else.

Reviewed by Joy Hannabass for Readers' Favorite Superhero: Everyone Needs a Hero by Don M. Winn is about a little boy who realizes how he can be of help to people in different situations in life, that he can be their hero. This is a sweet story, starting with the young boy getting out of bed in the morning and, instead of going to school, he puts on his superhero uniform and strikes out to find these villains before they can do something to his friends and family. Can this young boy find the villains and stop them in time? This is a really cute book, especially for boys, that turns out to have a very valuable lesson in the end. It answers the questions: What is a hero? Do you need to have super powers to be a hero? How can you be a hero? As well as, Who is your greatest hero? I love the special heartwarming ending. The characters are created well and the graphics are done with vivid colors that kids will love. But one thing bothered me with the villains' characters - they looked more like demons or devils and I’m not sure I would want my small child to see these. But this may not be a problem for some people. Overall, this is a cute book, and I like the valuable lesson it teaches kids. I encourage you to pick up a copy of this book for your child’s library and see what you think.
