Overview

A rash of strange deaths in the Tahoe National Forest bring Sam, Dean and Bobby to the Sierra Nevada mountains to hunt a monster with a taste for human flesh. Soon walking corpses, bodies with missing organs, and attacks by a mysterious flying creature lead the trio to a cunning and deadly foe which can assume a human form and will do anything to survive. When a blizzard strikes the area, and not knowing who they can trust, they must battle not only the monster, but also the elements to survive.

For me, one of the indicators of a good book is when I know I have to get up in the morning, yet I cannot bring myself to end the "just one more chapter" cycle . And let me tell you, this book kept me up for several nights in a row! It was sufficiently creepy, wasn't bogged down with a lot of exposition, and the chapters invariably ended in ways that made me just want to keep reading and reading (darned adult responsibilities notwithstanding). I also have a great love for action that takes place in foul weather, particularly snow storms... and this book gave me plenty of that! There was also a distinct lack of side-character backstory, which really kept me guessing at who amongst them might be a bad guy. Oh, and that leads me to another indicator of a great book for me: when I am eager to re-read it, knowing what I know now, and getting to pick apart all the small foreshadowing and hints that the author snuck in. I will definitely be reading this one again soon, to do just that!

Could have done with about 75 fewer pages. The author wrote like she has had more than a few encounters with a blizzard but almost no encounters with the show.

Loved it! Out of all the supernatural books I've read this one is the best (so far) The boys were in character, the plot was like an epic episode, and it was a real  Page turner. I recommend It to stave off "The Crazys" you are feeling while the Show is on hiatus.

Book was good, but had a lot of repetativeness. Book really could have ended 100 pages sooner if the author had gotten to the point and stopped repeating the same over and over.

I know that in my last review I complained about how long this book took to come out . However I just finshed it and my only regrate is not makeing it last longer! The curse of being sick I most of it in one day ! While I was waiting to get over this flu. This book was the most amazeingly writen yet. It was so good I am going to reread it right away !
