I enjoyed the opening trilogy of this series (although each book was shorter than the last and the final book had a rushed ending). After finishing the last book I immediately purchased this one for $3.99. For that money I expected a rock solid novel that would pick up where the last book left off. What I got instead was a rushed novella with a cliffhanger ending! Worse still, B&N doesn't even offer the next book (or booklet). This one was only about 80 pages long. Michelle M. Pillow writes some super-steamy scenes and her Merr men are hot!! I just wish she had taken the time to develop the characters and storylines as the series progressed. The first book was great. But the next three wasted pages with descriptions and explanations verbatim from the first book. This novella really leaves you hanging. Just when you start to get into the storyline, it's over.

This was another favorite for me. I just love this series. I think it’s my favorite by Michelle. Brutus is such a giant warrior, but being faced with Laurel after her rescue at sea, he is almost speechless and of course, everything he says comes out all wrong. This only causes her more panic. I laughed so hard at this story. I was wondering how Laurel would do the turning into a mermaid. I loved how the author used a unique way in bringing that about. If you like audiobooks, the narrator for this one is so wonderful. It made it even more real.

Surrender to the Sea is book 4 in The Lords of the Abyss series by Michelle Pillow. I was very happy and excited that Ms. Pillow decided to continue this fun, adventurous, sexy series with shifter Merr People in an underwater world called Atlantes. Brutus finds the immortality his people have been given as a curse, that he's destined to be alone forever. Like the other males from Atlantes he, his brother Demon and the others are alpha warriors who go out in teams to patrol for dangerous creatures (transformed Merrmen that were lost away from home for too long). They also spend a good deal of time trying to rescue humans who's boats have sunk. The women they save are often brought down to Atlantes, which had a severe shortage of females, unfortunately only a few make it. Laurel finally takes a well deserved vacation and goes looking for adventure. Her quest finds her on a chartered boat with an incompetent captain and just her luck the boat ends up capsizing. Lucky for her Brutus is there to save her. Brutus is instantly drawn to the lovely female he has rescued but is a bit clueless how to treat her as well how to deal with the countless other warrior/Merrmen hoping to court her. Laurel awakes shocked to find herself in this strange place, and humorously believes she'll be able to get back home once she finds the embassy. As reality sets in Laurel finds her feelings growing for the Merrmen who has saved her and is now in charge of protecting her. She actually ends up getting her wish for adventure and finds determination and courage she never knew she had. Some strange, dangerous and mysterious occurrences find Atlantes and even the sea life around It endangered. The Warriors must go out to the ocean investigate putting themselves at great risk. There are many dangers that exist including some within the dome that holds the underwater city. Laurel can not allow Brutus to be lost to her now that she has recognized her feelings for this sexy shifter warrior. This book can be read as a stand alone but the background and history of this world is explained in more depth in the previous books making it more enjoyable to read in order. This amazing world and its characters are easy to fall in love with and I was quite happy to be able to re-enter Atlantes again. A great addition to the series this book was filled with adventure, excitement, suspense, fantasy, hot paranormal shifter alpha warriors, lots of humor and smexy romance.

We are back in Atlantis again and his time it's Brutus's turn to fall lol well in love away ways. It's the time one of the damsels he had tried to safe lived being brought down to the underwater city and he found his perfect woman. That is IF he can keep all the other men away from her! And why isn't the women given a rule book for theses guys lol Oh oops back on track while every thing might look perfect thing are not safe and looks like trouble is on the way! I love the world the author has made up I hated to leave once the book was over! Guess I will just have to wait for the next book since I am too chicken to jump in the ocean lol. Book gifted for an honest review and I honestly loved it.

Brutus is a Hunter, from the sunken Atlantis. He saves those in peril of drowning and those who have no hope of rescue he transports to his world. He and his brothers Riegel and Demon fight the scylla and are at odds with the mermaids (known as Olympians) who share their land but cause them no end of trouble! Brutus is..well he's blunt and to the point and about as subtle as a brick over the head. but in saying that he is a sympathetic character, dealing with his loneliness the best he can. When out on patrol he is bopped on the head by a cooler and then finds Laurel floating in the water. She hits her head and he realises that she has been left for dead and takes her home with him. Laurel waked up and thinks she's on an islandnd just needs to contact the Embassy to get her home. Little does she know that she's on her way to becoming a permanent resident! She becomes alarmed as every male she meets wants to court her. She is used to turning heads but this is ridiculous!!! I did enjoy the earlier books in this series. I did struggle to like Laurel however, I'm not sure what she brought other than a pretty face. The other heroines at least were useful in their new world. But Brutus was entirely lovable and I really loved his bluntness - there are no frills on this boy! I received an ARC for an honest review.

I love Ms. Pillow's work, but I hate short stories...This series I love I just wish it were longer...LOL I am left so frustrated, but that is the price to pay when you absolutely love an authors work. In this part we find Laurel rescuing Brutus from a terrible ordeal that was definitely not expected and she realizes that she can accomplish much more than she thought.. Have they finally discovered the plot that is unfolding and how deep it runs? I was given this book for an honest review.

Couldn't put it down. Atlantes is one of my favorite Pillow worlds. In her new gift to readers Brutus is aptly name. He is a big brute, but a lovable one. As a Merr, he is a hunter and has had little experience with women since they are extremely scarce. After rescuing Laurel he is her guardian. The beautiful woman means more to him. He is adorable when he explains the situation to Laurel, a modern woman with heartaches of her own. The two are so different, yet coming together is a fun experience to all. The big brute has a tender side you won't be able to resist. To him she seems so fragile, will she prove him wrong? Can people so different come together? Can she adapt? Will this old/new world accept her and she it? There has to be something to interfere, it can't be that easy. Can it? You will have to find out for yourself. Just be prepared for a one sitting read as you won't be able to put this one down. I was provided and ARC for an honest review.
