About the Author

Dana Guillory, a veteran, survivor, mother, wife, certified personal trainer, motivational speaker, friend, and athlete, is a superstar in her own right. She is a successful soldier who has fought bravely for her country and herself. Dana suffered tremendously when she was thrust into a world that she didn’t want to be a part of and forced to live with a family she didn’t want to live with. From experiencing sexual abuse to becoming a victim of emotional and physical abuse, she has seen it all. In spite of all that, she knew that giving up wasn’t an option for her. And so, she continued to survive and rise against all the hardships and setbacks that life presented to her. Dana found solace in academics and sports — they helped her escape the nightmare that was her life. Her longing for escape, coupled with a movie she watched about a man named Audie Leon Murphy, helped her realize her true ambitions, and she decided to pursue a career in the military. She joined the Army and served with dignity, respect, and pride. She faced many difficulties in line with her career, from enduring extensive injuries to having to bury her friends — yet, for her, the military was her happy place. Despite a debilitating spinal injury and surviving cancer, Dana chose to keep fighting for herself and enduring what life threw at her. Even though she has retired from the military, she continues to inspire and motivate others. In 2017, she created a motivational consulting company, Potential Realized, with the same goal she has always had: making a difference and leaving a lasting impression. By providing training and consulting services, Dana continues to educate, inspire, and motivate others. Her passion is in the fitness industry, where Dana has become an award-winning trainer and bodybuilder. She passionately believes everyone can achieve their goals once they realize their potential.
