Suspenseful, logical, and realistic! So great having an author who knows and understands real life.

4.5 stars- The Bad Behavior series is shaping up to be really fantastic. Suspicious Behavior is the second book in the series, and while it’s a whole new case and there’s enough summarization of past events that enable it to stand on its own, it’s definitely one that’s better to read in order. The nuances between the heroes, interactions with secondary characters, and the continued secondary plot lines would likely leave readers new to the series in the dark. Once again this romantic suspense concentrates more on solving the crime versus the developing relationship between Andreas and Darren. That said, now that the men are officially together, the reader gets a lot more glimpses into their growing feelings and the ridiculously strong emotional chemistry between these two. Unfortunately, we don’t get much in the way of the physical aspects of the relationship. Although the lack of physical intimacy is explained with the stresses caused by the active case, personal injuries and recoveries, and familial obligations- I can’t help but wish we get a payoff in the third book. Case wise, I thoroughly enjoyed it. The action scenes moved quickly and kept me in suspense. There were also considerable differences from the previous book. This is definitely not a formulaic crime/suspense series. It had a different pace and timeline, with a lot more details regarding Andreas and Darren building their case and scrambling to stop further crimes. I also liked how the fallout from the first book affected the case in Suspicious Behavior. It lent a cohesiveness to the story arc without relying on a cliffhanger. While I’m still left wanting in the romance portion of this series, I really do enjoy the characters, writing, banter, and crime-solving. I loved that the reader gets a bit of a different focus and sees different sides to Andreas and Darren, delivering some of the things I missed in the first book. I think fans of law enforcement procedurals and suspense books will appreciate this series and I’m eager to see what challenges book three will present to Andreas and Darren. Judging from the authors’ teasers, it will be no less exciting than the first two book of the series. *Reviewed for Alpha Book Club*
