I ordered this book on Home Shopping Network and it sat in the box for 2 months before I decided to give it a try. I read the whole book from cover to cover and thought 'Hey, I can do this!' Well, I've only been following this plan for 6 days and have already lost 4.5 lbs. I never feel hungry but I still do crave sweets. Maybe someone can help me with this!! I am thinking of buying the Eat Great, Lose Weight book and may also put my name on the list for the Great Deserts book coming out in October. I would love it if I could get some emails on how to help fight those sugar cravings. It's only been a week but this is the hardest time - the beginning! Thanks for your support and THANK YOU SUZANNE - by changing how I eat, I smell success.

This book offers a life changing way of eating and I thank God I found it! I was on this diet before and lost 15 pounds in a month, but then got pregnant and 'let myself go.' But I'm back on it and I love it! No more cravings for snacks and sugar, I'm hardly ever hungry, I just feel comfortably full all the time and I have TONS of energy! Thank you so much Suzanne for writing this book!

I'VE READ ALL OF SUZANNE SOMERS BOOKS AND HAVE WATCHED ALL OF HER VIDEOS. THIS ONE IS EXTRAORDINARY. THE PHOTOGRAPHS ALONE ARE WORTH THE PRICE OF THE BOOK. IT IS WELL WRITTEN AN BEAUTIFULLY ILLUSTRATED. EASY TO READ AND UNDERSTAND. SHE MAKES COMBINING FOODS INTERESTING AND THE RELATED STORIES ARE ENJOYABLE TO READ. IF YOU LIKE TO EAT DELICIOUS FOODS AND STILL WANT TO LOOK GREAT THIS BOOK IS A MUST.

1/1/00 I set a goal to eat healthy and loose some weight. I began to follow all of the level 1 guidelines as they are outlined in the book and exercise. I was so impressed when I lost 3 pounds the first week and was never hungry or eating diet food. Throughout the year I tried and enjoyed every recipe provided. The Somersizing system is so easy to remember, I've also had fun creating my own recipes. I never used to enjoy cooking. 1/1/01 I now wear a size 6! My friends want to know how I can weigh only 125 lbs with the amount of food I eat. I gladly share with them the Somersizing concept.

The food you eat is real food, not gourmetish and ingredients you don't normally have in your cupboard.  My husband and I lost 30 lbs each, by  following  the guidelines, cooking recipes and just walking every other night.

There are 3 of us at work that are doing the diet, the first has lost 45.5 lbs the 2nd (me) has lost 12 and the 3rd just started today. It works - the food is great, but please Suzanne - come out with some recipes that are not so froo - froo

I DIDN'T FEEL RIGHT EATING A DIET HIGH IN PROTEIN THAT LIMITS FRUITS AND WHOLE GRAIN (CARBS). I HAVE TRIED IT BEFORE AND WAS VERY BORED WITH IT. BUT WITH SOMERSIZING, YOU ARE ENCOURAGE TO EAT WHOLE GRAIN, FRUITS AND VEGTABLES NOT JUST PROTEIN. NOW I KNOW THAT I AM EATING HEALTHY.

I was skeptical about trying yet another diet, but since nothing else seemed to be working, I decided i would try one last thing. In the first 6 months on this program I lost 40 lbs, and I have never felt better. The program is easy to follow, it is truly a way of life. The recipes are delicious and you never go hungry. Its worth spending a little extra time preparing this type of food. I would definitely recommend this book and I think pretty soon so are a lot of doctors who I thik would benefit from reading and testing this diet. I also bought her second book Eat Great Lose Weight and am looking forward to her third book.

At first I was pretty skeptical about following any diet plan. I tried to go on diets in the past, but they never worked. But, after hearing so many good things about 'Get Skinny on Fabulous Foods,' I thought I'd at least try it. Well, since I started 'Somersizing' two months ago, I have lost 8 pounds. I found it hard to strickly follow the plan and to follow the recipes because of time, but I found new ways of eating because of the book! I cheated a little on the plan and I don't work out much, but I still lost weight! It's defintely a new and exciting way of eating and feeling great about yourself!

Buy this book!! Good food, not difficult (although some of the ingredients may be hard to find in less metropolitan areas.) The mountain of lemon meringue pie is TO DIE FOR, and even my picky spouse will eat some of this food. Not to mention that after five years of dieting and watching my weight go up while eating 'low fat and healthy', finally, I think I'm shrinking. Not much, and the scale doesn't really tell the story. However, Dr. Schwarzbein explains the science behind this 'myth' of food combining, and why we can't lose weight. A friend loaned me her copy of Eat Great, Lose Weight, and although I didn't think it was for real at the time, I really did lose a little bit. So I bought that book in paperback, and got the second one the next day. I've been eating bacon or sausage with eggs and Onion Nests nearly every day ever since. It's embarassing to admit owning so many 'lowfat and healthy' cookbooks, but all these years, I thought red meat was going to kill me. Guess who ended up anemic for three years? Eat my dust on the way to the beach this summer, y'all! Gracias to all who produced this book, especially Suzanne Somers, who essentially put her neck on the line when she wrote 'another celebrity cookbook' and a 'new diet book.' Now if I could just start exercising again. . . !

I have not been on many diets, but after my third child was born, I found loosing the extra 20 pounds harder than ever. I have become increasingly interested in healthy, responsible eating over the last five or so years. So when I picked up this book, what appealed to me is that ms. Summers encourages weight loss through healthy eating, cutting out the junk food, and gaining control over your digestive system: great ideas for anyone. An added bonus is that because combining grains and meats is not allowed, you end up eating a lot more vegetables: also good for all of us. So two weeks ago, I started 'somersizing', and five pound are gone! I enjoy making the delicious meals, I am also walking 20 minutes every early morning, and doing 25 chin-ups before my shower. This is easy! I am happy to note that ms. summers has stopped advocating the use of Aspartame. I still have the following questions, though: -She says fat is o.k.; does that mean any fat, what about the talk about good and bad fats? -Hubby is a 'meat and potatoes, hold the veggies' kinda guy; any suggestions as to how to keep from having to cook two suppers every night?!

This book is absolutly 100% truthful. As a diabetic I was always fighting the high carbohydrate 'Diabetic Diet' that all the'expert' nutritionist claimed was right for me. Frankly, they made me sick, literally. The protein diet makes if possible for me to have completly normal blood sugar readings, feel better than I have ever felt and stop the damage that carbs were doing to my body. I thank God that people are starting to wake up from the (dare I use the word) religion of highcarb diets. Studies prove that 3 out of 5 people are carbohydrate sensitive, so this way of living may not be for everyone. There are 2 out of 5 still out there able to eat some amount of carbs without getting sick or fat. I am not one of those people. I am glad I found out the truth before it was too late.

I have read 'Get Skinny on Fabulous Food'. The program seems to be focused mainly on information from one doctor.( I do realize that other information was compiled from several different sources. All of which are included in the book.) I have read other low carb-high fat diet books. 'Get Skinny' is one of the easiest to follow diet plans I have seen. Also, good variety. It is full of supportive, sincere advice from the author. I just haven't seen enough scientific information to change my eating habits to fit this program. My opinion could be thoroughly argued with testimonials from 'Get Skinny'. Best of luck to everyone who uses ths program. I hope it helps. One day I may reconsider, and if I do, this is the program I will use.

I am a 35 yr. old mom, with one son (3 yrs.), and I have never been one to try fad diets. I didn't experience weight gain until age 28, so I quickly joined Weight Watchers, lost the weight, and kept it off - until after my son was born. Twenty lbs. just stayed and I knew my body would never look the same. Weight Watchers wasn't working. I felt like I just wasn't getting all of the protein I needed, and I didn't have much energy. So my husband laughed when I bought this book, but I've been eating the 'Suzanne' way now for two weeks, and I've lost 7 lbs. I did a birthday brunch and followed the Level One profile, and everyone loved it! I'm always satisfied, but never 'stuffed.' I've altered some of the recipes in both books, and the food is so beautiful, I feel 'special' sitting down to eat it!

I have lost weight on the high carb diets (50 lbs) years ago, but the weight slowly crept back as I slowed my exercise and ate whatever I wanted. This book which basically preaches eat your carbs and protiens seperately, (but is very restrictive on the kinds of carbs you can eat)is overall very simple to follow. I started Nov 1 and now have lost 18 pounds. I sometimes go off it a little bit on the weekends, but if you adopt this as the way you usually eat, it will work for you. I also do the treadmill 45 minutes daily. Bottm line: all diets work, but not all diets are easy to do long term..this I believe is is the easiest for people who want to live life in the mainnstream.

the big problem I have with this book/diet, is the claim that everything is right there, you wont have to do special shopping for the menu's etc.. ha!! i live in No Mn, and believe you.. half that stuff is not to be found here. also being the mother of 2, and husband who is a laborer, it was really hard to only cook one meal for all of us, without them thinking I was punishing them... I have tired the low carb/low suger diets and feel they do work, but not found a menu, recipes that are really for the real real women and family out there, not the south calif, or high income family.
