Accustomed to running her family's import business in Maryland, Carolina Cantrell's hurried trip to Montana Territory to settle her brother's estate begins as just another business transaction. But all that changes when David's business partner refuses to pay Carolina a decem price for David's interest in the store. Carolina decides to stay and run things herself. At that point, a parade of unique characters marches into her life, each one causing her to extend her stay a bit longer. But none more so than a particularly handsome, saddle-tough drifter.
As Carolina struggles to do business in this untamed man's world, her belief in God gives her direction. But when the rush for gold comes to the territory, she must fight to shape the future of the town growing up around her store. There are confrontations and tensions, but in the end it is an explosion of emotions that leave Carolina and the cowboy both wondering about their future together in this premier volume of Stephen Bly's new series.

He does a wonderful job as a male author portraying the thoughts of a female. It was hard to put it down. I can't wait to read The Marquessa (the next in the series).
