Sweet Cheeks by K. Bromberg

An all new second chance love story by the New York Times Bestselling author of the beloved Driven series.

It all started with the invitation. To my ex-fiance's new wedding.

I should have ignored it.Thrown it away. Set it afire. But I didn't. I replied.

With a plus one.

Enter Hayes Whitley. Mega-movie star. The man who has captured the hearts of millions. But I gave him mine years ago. He was my first love. He was my everything. Right until he up and left to chase his dreams without so much as a simple goodbye.

When he showed up out of the blue ten years later, I should have known to steer clear. I should have rejected his offer to take me to my ex's wedding and told him he was crazy when he suggested we act like a couple to show my ex, it's true, I could do better than him.

But I didn't.

And now we're left wondering if the pieces of the life we once shared still fit together somehow. First loves are hard to forget. The question is, do we want to forget? Or do we risk the chance and see what happens next?

About the Author

New York Times Bestselling author K. Bromberg writes contemporary novels that contain a mixture of sweet, emotional, a whole lot of sexy and a little bit of real. She likes to write strong heroines and damaged heroes who we love to hate and hate to love.

She’s a mixture of most of her female characters: sassy, intelligent, stubborn, reserved, outgoing, driven, emotional, strong, and wears her heart on her sleeve. All of which she displays daily with her husband and three children where they live in Southern California.

On a whim, K. Bromberg decided to try her hand at this writing thing. Since then she has written The Driven Series (Driven, Fueled, Crashed, Raced, Aced), the standalone Driven Novels (Slow Burn, Sweet Ache, Hard Beat, and Down Shift (Releasing 10/4/16)), and a short story titled UnRaveled. She is currently finishing up Sweet Cheeks a standalone novel out at the end of 2016.

Her plans for 2017 include a sports romance duet (The Player (#1) and The Catch (#2)) and the Everyday Heroes series (Cuffed (#1), Combust (#2), and Cockpit (#3). She’s also writing a novella for the 1,001 Dark Night series that will be out in February 2017.

She loves to hear from her readers so make sure you check her out on social media.

I never thought K. Bromberg could come close to topping Colton and Rylie's story from the Driven series. I must say Hayes and Saylor's story is right there. The story started off a tad slow for me but was def initely worth the wait. I cannot wait to read more from this author. And rest assure I will reread this as many time as I did the Driven series

I typically avoid anything to do with “Hollywood” in a story, it just isn’t my thing, that and musicians.  Don’t ask me why, because the few books I’ve read I have liked.  Yet I tend to steer clear.  I am beyond thrilled that I took the chance with Sweet Cheeks because I absolutely loved it.   Sweet Cheeks is the perfect contemporary romance.  It is full of heartache, love, humor, romance, and characters that you instantly fall in love with.  I couldn’t stop listening, yet at the same time, I never wanted it to end.  Saylor and Hayes are two characters that you want to visit over and over.  I really hope to see them again in future stories, or I will go back and listen to this one again.   I am giving Sweet Cheeks 5 Huge Boundless Stars, I absolutely loved it!  It may have been the nostalgia of first love that got to me, whatever it was, it was a formula done right.

If I could I would give this book 10 stars! I absolutely loved it. Who wouldn't like a second chance at their first love? Hayes and Saylor grew up together, Saylor thought they would always be together, and they were, until Hayes took off one day to follow his dreams and didn't come back again for ten years. They have lots of issues to get through and Hayes' reputation as Hollywood's hottest male actor will be more of a hindrance than a help. To start the 'win her back' campaign, Hayes will take Saylor to her ex-fiancé’s new wedding. Great plan, right? At least until the love of your life is suddenly accused of breaking up your former (fake) relationship with America's sweetheart actress. And - - - we're off and running! This is a must read romance.

This book! I adore this book. It's perfection with the sexiest side of yum! I listened to the audio book on my morning walks and let me tell you, I was excited to go on my walks! Both Andi Arndt and Sebastian York do an incredible job with these characters. They really brought them to life for me and I completely enjoyed the experience. These characters are so real to me and I fell for both of them. It's easy to get on board with Saylor. She's just been sent an invitation to her ex's wedding - the exact same invitation she had painstakingly picked out for their wedding invitations. A joke? Yeah, no. She's working herself ragged trying to keep her business afloat and is mostly sure she made the right decision to end things with Mitch. But enter the wealthy ex's family playing games with her customers and her high school boyfriend that left for Hollywood and never came back - yeah things are complicated. And that's just what makes this one real. Life is complicated. Saylor is doing the best she can and I really like her. Now Hayes had to win my heart. He's the boy, her high school sweetheart, that left her without a word after graduation and made it big without looking back. Yeah, I wanted to scratch his eyes out. He could have at least said goodbye. But I hated Mitch, the man she left right before their wedding. The golf boy who didn't really want Say so much as a trophy wife. I didn't like his lack of a fight when she left him. I didn't like his finding a replacement bride after only 8 months. I didn't like how he handled himself ever. So when Hayes protects Saylor his debt begins to be paid. This is definitely a second chance romance but it has a tiny bit of pretending added in for good measure. I adore that trope so I was all on board. And can I just say that as far as the set-up for the pretense? One of the best I've ever seen. Totally believable. And once you're pretending, there's always this kiss that has to happen for show. Only it turns into more. And this kiss? Oh my, this kiss was perfection. Let's just say that grudge it out has a whole new meaning, a hashtag and some serious smiles attached to it. Lots of romance books play out in a predictable fashion - fall for each other (possible again), become invested, have some conflict that messes everything up to the point of no hope and then some wonderful grand gesture that fixes things in the end. What I really liked about this book was how outside the box it was from that formula. No spoilers from me. Read it yourself - you will thank me. But I'll just say that Hayes won my heart and that I smiled and laughed out loud a lot while listening to this one. Four and sugar on the counter top, cupcake frosting, golf courses, thunderstorms, twitter flirting and text messages will all forever remind me of the joy that is reading this book! This one is some of the good stuff, more than a good read, more than a great read; This one is an amazing read that I just want to read all over again.

Sweet Cheeks,  K. Bromberg Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews Genre:  Romance,  I love the Driven series, have re-read those and they are definitely in my keepers files, but its good too when an author moves into a new area, out of the "comfort zone" into a fresh venue. I was pleased to see this one and I bought it. Yep, paid real money! Between review novels and my KU subs a book has to have a pretty good suggestion that its one for me before I'll buy it, and with so many authors raising prices its great to see an established author keeping them affordable. This is still just £2.99 and as its one I'll reread  that's great value.  As always with KB's books I love the characters, they feel so real, and of course the settings are perfect. From Saylor's shop to the extravagant wedding venue I could visualise them easily. . I have to sday this though - I hated the title, it sounds so twee, but its the name of Saylor's bakery so it does feel better when you know that ;-) She's a great girl, works hard, and is trying to build up her business. Then she gets That invite, the one to the wedding, which oddly enough mirrors exactly what she had planned when she was the bride....weird or what?? Who would want that, the wedding your husband to be was having with someone else...and then the invite gets returned by accident, saying she'll attend, armed with a plus one... Then Hayes, film star extraordinaire, comes into the story. He and Saylor have a past, though its been years since they met, after he broke her heart when he left. The banter between these two is perfect, the wedding scenes so real, and full of snark, and the hashtag parts I loved. Its got so much I love in a story here, great characters, solid plots, humour, snark, and lots of drama and sad parts. Its a terrific read.  Stars: five, a fabulous read, from a favourite author that kept me engrossed for hours and will join the keepers.

Gah!!! I absolutely loved SWEET CHEEKS!!! This was my first time with both Andi Arndt and Sebastian York as audio readers and with reading a book by K. Bromberg, and I will definitely be enjoying both audios and books from all three of them in the future! I really, really loved this audio! Seriously! I can't praise it enough! :D SWEET CHEEKS was an absolutely adorable story about rekindled romance, and the name is incredibly fitting! The story was sweet, sexy, and most definitely cheeky and funny, too! I loved the characters, the plot and all of the banter and the little extra touches (like the social media posts) were so well done! This book had me hooked right away and I was constantly laughing, gasping and smiling throughout the entire thing! The story itself is superb! I'm always a fan of second-chance romances, and I definitely love stories involving hunky high school sweethearts who become super duper famous movie star...I mean what's not to love, especially when the character is as divine as Hayes was! Not only was he an amazing actor and a real dreamboat, he was also one of the sweetest heroes that I've encountered in quite a while! He'd definitely made mistakes in his past, but he did an amazing job making up for all that he'd done. And Saylor! I adored her!!! She was smart, funny, confident (with a tiny bit of insecurity that made her super easy to relate to), and just all around amazing! I really admired her character, and loved getting to know her! Both Andi Arndt and Sebastian York gave fantastic performances, too! I'm pretty picky when it comes to audio readers so I usually listen to samples of each audio before I start it and I wasn't quite sold on either reader from the sample, but I did think they sounded interesting. I decided to give this audio a chance, and once it started, I was completely sold! I'm so glad that I bought this audiobook and I definitely now see the appeal of Sebastian York! His voice is PERFECT for audio and he did an amazing job as Hayes! So sexy and earnest...loved him! And Andi was amazing, too! She delivered Saylor's sassy lines perfectly and I really loved her performance! I think I still would've loved SWEET CHEEKS in paper or ebook, but I really loved the added dimension that Sebastian and Andi brought to both characters—they captured them wonderfully and really brought them to life! If you're looking for a great second chance romance and want to also experience a wonderful audio experience, I highly recommend this one! I thought SWEET CHEEKS was amazing and look forward to listening to it again and again! :D

Sweet Cheeks is a book about Saylor Rodgers and Hayes Whitley. Saylor and Hayes were high school sweethearts until the day Hayes went off to Hollywood and didn't come back. 10 years later Saylor is running her own bakery and has been invited to her ex-fiancé's wedding. What she needs is a hot date to the wedding. In walks Hayes who is now an A-list actor in Hollywood. Hayes wants to take Saylor to the wedding as an IOU to her brother but also to try and get her friendship back. Hayes has to work hard to get her forgiveness. This book was a good read from start to finish.

Sweet Cheeks by K. Bromberg is a fantastic read. I have yet to read a book by this author that I did not love and this one was no exception. Saylor Rodgers, owner of Sweet Cheeks bakery, never imagined getting invited to her ex-fiances wedding, nor did she expect to RSVP with a yes plus one, but that is exactly what happened. Now she has to come up with the plus one to attend the wedding. Enter Hayes Whitley, a Hollywood star, and the same man that broke Saylors heart years ago. Never in a million years would she have expected to attend the wedding of her ex with this man, but that is exactly what happens. And that is where the fun begins, from Grudge Busters, crazy exs, spoiled Hollywood starlets and the paparazzi, I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. I highly recommend this one to any lover of romance, humor, sexy banter, and warm and fuzzy feelings, then you cannot miss this one. Fall in love with Hayes and "Ships Ahoy", I know I did!

Ahhh how do you describe the feelings you get from a K. Bromberg book?! I have no idea because I'm speechless with joy over this book. Even with such a sweet lighthearted book she still manages to suck you in so your emotions are entwined into the story! Her first non-Driven related story was definitely a hit in my book! This story has everything I love about her writing and just makes me even more excited for all her new books that are in the works!

Wonderfully perfect. K. Bromberg at her best. A full lifetime wrapped up in the 318 pages of perfection. Hints of others you love from her, but this story is their own. Fresh. New. Well worth your time.

This is Kristy Bromberg's first full length novel away from her amazing "Driven" series and subsequent spinoffs. It proves the woman can write pretty much anything. Aside from her novella "UnRaveled", her fans have yet to see what "life by Kristy" would look like outside a "Driven" world. Sweet Cheeks is a world different from her other books; this one, a light-hearted sweet romance with only small amounts of angst, where the reader can't help but root for the two leading characters to come together. Saylor Rodgers is baking up a storm in her recently opened Sweet Cheeks cupcake bakery, but the reader comes into the story as if they've missed the first act of the play. There seems to have been a bad break-up in Saylor's recent history, yet we learn Saylor is the one who set her own ship a sail. Her brother Ryder is concerned...not only about Saylor, but also in the feasibility of helping his sister stay financially afloat in her fledgling business, as their parents are both gone from this world. Enter Ryder's best friend from childhood, now movie star, Hayes Whitley, who also happens to be Saylor's first high school love...and loss. The story takes a bit to unfold, as we realize Saylor left her fiancé soon before the wedding, sensing doom in their impending marriage. Along comes a wedding invitation within the year after, to none other than the man whom she was supposed to marry's wedding! To punish? To spite? To prove he can find someone else quickly? To ridicule? Only the groom and his newly intended bride know the answer and Saylor feels just enough spunk to find out! She responds that she'll come and is bringing a Plus One! Ryder may have a hand in helping her out...Hayes Whitley, it appears, just may be in emotional debt to his best friend, and Ryder is going to call in a favor. What starts as a need to repair a relationship and apology from Hayes for walking out 10 years earlier, becomes so much more..... The second half of this novel really makes it shine. The repartee between Saylor and Hayes as they overcome an emotional 10 year distancing, as well as Hayes' use of social media in wooing his childhood sweetheart, shows Bromberg at her best. The emotional connection Bromberg creates between her characters in this, and in all of her books, is what makes her the writer she is and why she has such a dedicated following. This one gets a strong 4 luscious cupcakes award from me.

A Review of Sweet Cheeks by K. Bromberg Grudge Cupcakes - 5+++++ stars When we first meet Saylor, she is looking at a wedding invitation from her ex-fiancé. The same invitation that she created for their wedding - same font, same location, etc., with the only change being the bride and the date. Out of spite, she marks yes on the RSVP and adds a mark for a plus one, but has no intention of actually sending it back or going to the wedding. She has no regrets for leaving him a week before their wedding, but she does have those times that she wonders if she can make a go of her new life. With help from Ryder (her brother), she is trying to make a go of her bakery and pay him back. When Ryder finds out about the invitation and that the RSVP was sent, he decides that it might be a good idea for her to go, to show everyone that she made the right decision walking away from Mitch. Then we meet Hayes - her first love. He walked away from her ten years ago and she hasn't talked to him since. We get to see bits and pieces of her life with Hayes and it is so easy to see the love they had for each other. Ms. Bromberg has a way of pulling you into the story and making you feel everything that is happening with the characters. I can totally see the movie of this storyline in my head and I would love to see more of these characters and the secondary ones, since I feel like I know them. I'm looking forward to reading more from this author! **Honest review voluntarily provided from a Complimentary Copy provided by Author.**

This was fantastic. So witty and smart. I love a second chance romance. Saylor has walked away from her fiancé only to be dragged a little or maybe a lot through the mud and her business is taking a hit . She's tough independent but she's sweet and funny and I have a bit of a girl crush on her. Enter her Brother who I love he's got a brilliant idea. Enter Hayes oh Yes Hayes. Cocky playboy Movie star . They have a past and when things start to come to light there is a lot of feelings and memories that they need to work through. Can they ? Sorry I don't do long spoiler reviews. I LOVED THIS SO MUCH! I laughed , Wanted to punch someone , this is a Must read! #AGAME

OK. So this one is kind of tricky to write :D I wasn't a big fan of K. Bromberg's writing after I read Driven. Yes, I know how many people love the series but it wasn't exactly for me. But I met her at a signing during the summer and I really liked her as a person so I decided to try and read something else written by her. So when I got the chance to read Sweet Cheeks, I was quite happy :D And guess what? I loved the story, the writing, the characters. There was just something about this story that pulled me in from the very start. It was funny and heartbreaking, romantic and HOT. And it doesn't hurt that Hayes is an eye candy :D But as a whole, this is an incredible story of second chances, forgiveness and realising what really matters in life. As I said above, Hayes is seriously hot but apart from that, I loved him as a character. He is willing to fight for the things that matter to him. And one of those things is Saylor. His first love, the girl he left behind when he went to chase his dreams, the one woman he compares everyone else to. So it is not a surprise that when she needs help, he is more than willing to give his best. And he will do everything he can to bring back the carefree girl he knew 10 years ago. And in the midst of a tropical paradise, they Saylor and Hayes discover each other again, rekindle the love they felt as teenagers and build it to something even stronger, something timeless. One of the things I most enjoyed in the book is the banter between Saylor and Hayes. It was so much fun to read :D And let me tell you, Saylor has a really incredible rendition of Addicted to Love by Robert Palmer. That seriously cracked me up :D I am laughing right now, remembering it :D And the way that Hayes can bring her temper is so much fun :D Only by their sparring you can recognise the chemistry between them :) So yeah, it is not a surprise that they burn the sheets together. I can honestly say that I would never look at baking cupcakes quite the same way after this book. And I never though that flour, sugar and counter tops can be so erotic :D So, my recommendation is, you should read this story. It is run, romantic and definitely HOT. The perfect read for a relaxing winter night at home :) And I can guarantee that Hayes will keep you warm at night :) So get your #oneclick finger working and pick your copy ASAP ;) This review was originally posted at Living In Our Own Story Book Blog. I received an ARC of the book in exchange of an honest review.
