Enjoyed the first book in this series to the point of reading it straight through. Can't wait to see what Nina had in store for the remainder of the Sugar Rush men of Stone

Delicious. Loved how confident Polly was. Was a fabulous story. Would have liked to see more of them at the end though.

Two words to describe Nina Lane's Sweet Dreams? Sweet and sexy! I will admit it that it took me a while to get into this, because the story started off slow. By the halfway mark, however, I was one hundred percent hooked as well as a committed Polly-and-Luke shipper. Polly was a great lead. I loved how sweet and wholesome she was, but what I loved even more was how she wouldn't take handouts from anyone. She was determined to save her business on her own, and even when Luke did help her out, she always managed to make it an equal deal. When the book first begins, Luke is very serious and staunch - he doesn't take vacations, he works 24/7, and he is incredibly anti-realtionship. Everything changes, though, when he meets Polly. Suddenly, he wants to dedicate his weekends to her and not work and he wants to do cutesy-relationship things. Basically, he's a changed man and for the better, because while I did love moody and serious Luke, fun and loving Luke was even better! There romance developed at a great speed. The drama towards the end was a tad bit ridiculous, but in all, a great start to a series! 3. 5 stars!

I got to about 40%ish of the book then skimmed the rest. The whole build up was soooo slow. The characters weren't right for each other at all. Polly's too immature for Luke and I wasn't feeling their relationship. I think I wanted Polly to show she was inexperienced then what was written. I hope Hannah (Polly's older sister) has a damned good explanation for not dealing with their failing mother's bakery business. I'm hoping the next 2 are better especially Evan's book in book 2. I will come back to the next 2 soon bc I don't want my disappointment of this book to cloud my judgement.

This was a fun and sexy read. Polly is in trouble, the bakery her mother started is slipping away from her after her mother’s illness. As she struggles to find a way to save it, she decides to let loose with her friend Mia for her birthday. Well, after a few shots she gets very bold with one Mr. Hottie which leads to an embarrassing moment. Boy is she surprised when he turns up on her tour of Sugar Rush, the candy manufacturer and is the CEO. Luke is stunned by his reaction to Polly. There encounter at the bar is brief yet exhilarating. When she turns up at his manufacturing facility, well, it he decides to take advantage at this second chance. Luke is up tight and a control freak, he has been working hard to keep his family’s candy business going while growing it. Polly is the perfect complement to him, she comes from a free spirited background and seems to be just the medicine he needs to loosen up. I truly had fun reading their story. Their chemistry is electric and the give and take is wonderful, it’s not all about Luke saving Polly, she holds her own while showing she can save him too.

The first book in the Sugar Rush series, Sweet Dreams was a sugary confection of steamy fun I wished I'd discovered sooner! I loved Polly's wit and bluntness and got a kick out of Luke's protective, control freak habits. The relationship was low on angst and their chemistry was a happy concoction of fantastic, sexy sweetness that was hard to resist! Hilarious supporting characters round out an addictively engrossing read and I'm eager to read the next book in the series! I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book which I received at no cost from the author. Julie-Alphas Do It Better Book Blog

Recipe: One sexy work-a-holic CEO of Sugar Rush Candy Company One shy uninhibited owner of Wild Child Bakery Dash (well, several actually) of steam An element or two of unexpected chance encounters Instructions: Blend the two main ingredients, stir in chance encounters at perfectly-timed increments, add steam, and then a little more for good measure. Continue stirring until well-blended. Garnish generously with sweetness and passion. Serve: A decadent and fulfilling culinary masterpiece disguised as contemporary romance. Sweet Dreams is the first book in Nina Lane's newest series "Sugar Rush." Full of all the male tenderness and female tenacity that only Nina has the recipe to deliver. Five delicious stars!

3.5 Delicious Stars I have read one Nina Lane book, Arouse, and I loved it hard. She swept me away into Prof. Dean's and Liv's world and left such an impression that I still remember their names, which doesn't happen very often. But I digress, since this is not supposed to be a rave about this author's previous works. Luke Stone is the well known, good looking and workaholic CEO of Sugar Rush Candy Company who likes to spend his nights in a dive bar when he wants to stay anonymous. He is driven, controlling and there is no room for long lasting relationships. Work is all he lives for. When he goes into a relationship, he has a set of rules ready. One night at the bar he locks eyes with a pretty bohemian and drunk girl. She proposes a night of fun...but this one doesn't end as expected. When Polly's mom died she asked her daughter to live her life. Her mother left her and her sister the bakery and in her memory she wants to continue running it. Part of her plan to do this is taking confectionary and pastry classes. She has lived her life pleasing other people, always putting other people's needs before her. Breaking up with her boyfriend is the first step into her new life. Introducing more fun the second. When she wakes up after the night of her twenty third birthday and remembers how it ended her embarrassment knows no bounds. Things get even more awkward when she runs into the object of her desire on the evening of her birthday after leaving such a terrible impression. Luke was everything I look for in a male lead. Strong, dominant, sexy, protective. The way he treats Polly in the beginning is sweet and you watch him fall for her, despite him repeatedly reminding her that he can't offer anything long lasting. I really liked how he took care of his girl but he was also stubborn and unreasonable and towards the end the jerk came out to play which was one of the things that brought my rating down. They had a discussion in the last 15% of the book which had me scratching my head in confusion. At no point, however, I doubted his devotion to this heroine. Polly was as sweet, open and friendly as they come with a good dose of strong will. She stands up for herself and doesn't let people walk over her. She is set on making her life better and enjoying it. Polly accepts Luke the way he is without wanting to change him and that includes accepting that their relationship will end at some point. I love a well written sex scene as much as the next girl. I love the slow build up and the tension. This book had really good ones...until Polly opened her mouth. What came out sounded to me artificial and not in character. Polly is sweet and not very experienced in the men/sex department so her getting it on like a pornstar was a little bit irritating. However, you will also find sweet and funny moments in this story. I really loved most of the secondary cast, especially aunt Julia, who had hysterical conversations with Polly. Overall this story was cute, low in the angst department and with a healthy dose of steam. The characters were likable and there were some wonderful and sweet parts I really adored. While this wasn't a complete winner for me, I would like to I would like to urge you to read this book to form your own opinion. There are a lot of people who loved this story so who knows, you'll probably love it too! I loved it enough to see the potential in this series and will definitely read the next installment!

4.25 stars--SWEET DREAMS is the first installment in Nina Lane’s contemporary adult SUGAR RUSH romance series focusing on the Stone family who own and operate the Sugar Rush Candy Company. This is Sugar Rush CEO Luke Stone, and twenty three year old bakery shop owner/ college student Polly Lockhart’s story line. Told from dual third person perspectives (Luke and Polly) SWEET DREAMS follows the building relationship between the CEO of the Sugar Rush Candy Company Luke Stone, and bakery owner Polly Lockhart. On her twenty third birthday Polly was pushed by her best friend Mia to seduce the hottie at the local bar but too many drinks, a heartbreaking but humorous rejection, and a lasting impression found our heroine alone the next morning with nothing but a hangover, some unfortunate memories, and a scheduled tour of the Sugar Rush Candy Company along with her college classmates. Enter CEO Luke Stone, and the last person our heroine was hoping to meet-Luke is the hottie from the evening before, and the man who had featured in our heroine’s dreams. What ensues is Luke’s pursuit of Polly Lockhart, and his attempts to turn around Polly’s floundering bakery known as the Wild Child. Luke Stone is a workaholic with no time for relationships, vacations or fun. His Aunt Julia continues to try and fix up our story line hero with any number of women with exquisite pedigrees and social graces that seem to be absent in our story line heroine. Polly is a struggling independent business woman who is trying to turn around her late-mother’s bakery-a bakery that started to fail when her mother was diagnosed with cancer and eventually died. Luke, a man whose own business has waivered on the financial markets in the past, takes Polly under his wing and attempts to fix up her business both inside and out. When Polly is offered a nine-month culinary scholarship to Paris, France, Luke knows that he will not be the one to destroy her dreams, but instead allows the woman he loves to walk away and destroy his heart. The $ex scenes are intimate and seductive. The sexual chemistry is palpable. There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including Polly’s best friend Mia, her sister Hannah, co-worker Clementine, and friend Ramona. We are also introduced to Luke’s brother Evan, his father Warren, and his meddling Aunt Julia. There are six Stone brothers- Evan and Hannah’s story will be told next in SWEET ESCAPE. Nina Lane’s SWEET DREAMS is a sexy Cinderella-esque romantic fairy tale. Luke has issues of control and is unable to walk away and let go of the business he has worked so hard to be a success; Polly is a woman determined to help Luke relax and take some time for himself. The premise is heartwarming, emotional and playful; the characters are passionate and spirited; the romance is provocative and alive. There is no outside conflict brought into the relationship except that which the couple brings themself.

Sweet Dreams proves once more just how much Nina Lane knows about love. How she continues to create characters and story-lines that warm my heart and soul like no other and leave me grinning like a fool. This beautifully-written book is about Polly Lockhart, the selfless, good-natured owner of a bakery called Wild Child and the Sugar Rush Candy Company CEO by the name of Luke Stone who steals her heart. Their very different worlds collide not once but twice and it's all either of them can handle. Feeling as if they don't fit in each other's lives, there is no denying the chemistry that radiates between the two and it is just a matter of time before they fall for each other and hard. A huge part of the book that I loved so much was how Polly and her eclectic group of friends and family continually made me laugh. With Clementine, her trusted co-worker, Mia, her charismatic bestie and even Destiny, with her otherworldly sense and a regular at the Wild Child, Polly's life was practically complete. Their playful banter will crack you up as well. But with running a bakery and taking classes to better her business seemed like enough. So when the very sexy and I mean very sexy, Luke enters her life, Polly realizes just how much she has been missing. I have a super girl crush on Polly. As much as I love Luke and believe me he is wildly swoon-worthy, to me it's Polly who steals the show with her addictive enthusiasm and her penchant for being loyal and devoted to the world around her. She embraces everything nature has to offer and has a very level head on her shoulders. She's funny and sweet and can handle the likes of anyone, no matter how tough, who dares to get in her path. She would be great fun to hang out with. With Polly and Luke, somehow Nina Lane puts together two very different souls and yet they blend together as easily as peanut butter wrapped in chocolate. It's her words that embrace me each and every time and I just adore getting lost in what is quite simply a tender and very touching love story. I'm happily addicted. You'll fall quickly for Polly and Luke and the fun-filled adventure that is their romance. You'll laugh and swoon and sigh and even get a bit hungry for the decadent creations featured at both Wild Child and Sugar Rush. My mouth was watering and often. I only wish it were real! Sweet Dreams is utter joy. 5++ stars!
