I had to look up the definition for rhombus. I found it is a diamond. Of course the technical term rhombus is a shape while the definition stated that a diamond is not a shape but an object. Most quilters will know what a diamond SHAPE is but will they know the name rhombus? OK, potato or potatoe whichever way you say it, it means the same thing and so it is with this shape. And this is what this book is about ---- making quilts in with a diamond shape template. I was not overly impressed with the book. It was well written and had nice patterns but mostly it was simply quilts we have all seen only done in a diamond shape rather than with squares or triangles. Whether it was an eye spy quilt or a table topper named Cotton Candy, the patterns were the same as most others I have seen. If you are rather new to quilting, this book will give you lots of ideas of things to make from pillows, to table toppers to quilts or bed skirts. There are also applique templates included when the pattern calls for them but some are at full size and some are not so you have to check carefully to be sure which ones need enlargement. The diamond templates are printed in the back of the book and you will need to copy them to create your cutting templates. There is an eight page technique sections to get you started on how to use the diamond template once you make it. It also includes a supply list and information on backing, binding, borders and batting. All in all, not a bad book but not one I plan on putting in my library.
