DJ Brown's novel 'Sweet Revenge,' is part romance, part suspense, with a little light mystery thrown in. It's not exactly mind candy, but definitely a tasty treat. They say revenge isn't always sweeter, but in this case maybe it is. Bringing her kidnapper to justice may give Claire Cunningham the peace she seeks after she's been horribly betrayed. Claire is out for blood, hoping 'eye for an eye' justice will heal her deeply wounded heart. She feels like she's got nowhere to turn and no one to help her. In the end, Claire's actions may seem extreme, yet somewhat justified. Her life will never be the same--and she vows that the man responsible for her pain will suffer just as she has. But can she find something better than bittersweet revenge? What 'Sweet Revenge' may lack in substance it makes up in heart. Although the 'bad guys' in the story have a somewhat flat aspect, the reader roots for Claire, feels her pain, tastes her revenge. This novel is a great 'summer on the beach' read--short, simple, and palatable.
