This book started out okay.. but then it got really good towards the middle. I find myself not able to put the book down, and waiting for the last minute to go eat or take a bathroom break lol. If you have time, this is a good book to read. I love the ending...

This is the third or fourth book by Barbara Freethy that I have read, and none of them--including this one--have disappointed me. The Sweetest Thing combines romance and adventure with a touch of the supernatural. It definitely kept me interested to the point of staying up late to read in order to get to the ending--which, by the way, was a good one. I recommend this book, as well as others by this author. There is only one thing about the e-version of the book that is strange, and that is the page count is way off. Although it is an average size novel, the page count leads you to think it is 900-some pages. However, after reading only a chapter or two, you discover you are already at page 100 or clearly there is some glitch in the page numbers. I do recognize that e-book page numbers do not always match regular hard copy page numbers, but this was crazy. I have noticed this same problem with all the books by Barbara Freethy. However, since they are standard size novels, I was more than happy with the length of the book. Happy reading!

Loved it.

Refreshingly different but in some places it gets a bit cliched. A solid book that is substantial enough to last you a while even though it is what I would call a "fluff book".
