I, Agnes Sylvester, a successful author known as Adeline Snow to the romance community, enjoy the simple things in life: watching the X Games with my childhood friend Todd; taking pictures of interesting buildings; and creating stories based on fantasies about my favorite skateboarder, Spencer Garrison. I’m known for my extreme sports stories, and as long as no one ever figures out he’s my muse, all is well.

But fate has never liked me and now that muse is standing in front of me. Asking me to sign a book.

“Extreme Sports Superstar” is the term the media has used to describe me over the years. I prefer to just be Spencer Garrison, a small-town guy who happens to ride a skateboard for a living and is known for philanthropy.

Nearing retirement, I’m focusing on my non-profit efforts and building a life outside of a professional athlete. My agent won’t let me retire in peace and consequently a talented and kindhearted woman stumbles her way into my life.

Sometimes happy endings aren’t written. They’re lived.

One of my favorite things to read is when two authors I adore decided to team up and write a novel together. When I learned these two were doing it (and for charity I might add) I was giddy with excitement. The best part of this is how the writing is so seamless that I couldn't tell who wrote what. I was intrigued by Adeline Snow, or Aggi as we come to know her, from Carter's previous book Amazing Grayson. These two authors nailed it with her. She's quirky, endearing and just downright funny. Seeing her change from her normal, shy self into her author persona was fun. It's like watching two totally different people and you wonder how many authors are like this in real life. I know personally that it does happen and it truly is inspiring to see how much they truly do love their readers when watching the transformation happen. Aggi/Adi was the perfect example. Spencer is just a all around good guy who does not take his fame for granted. He uses it to inspire others and just do good with what he's been given. His intrigue and patience with Aggi makes him even better throughout this book. Watching their relationship unfold was fun to watch. This book is full of true laugh out loud moments and just enough angst to keep you turning the page. An all around fun book if you're looking for a light read that will keep a smile on your face the entire time.

Being a fairly avid reader, and in need of a less emotionally draining book, Switch Stance filled the bill perfectly. We get a hilarious glimpse of what it might be like for a socially awkward romance writer to meet her long time muse. I felt a definite kinship with Adi/Aggi as her anxiety ramped up over and over again and at the same time totally understood Spencer’s attraction to her. Theirs is a feel good, slow burn romance that will have you laughing out loud, nodding your head in agreement, and hugging your book by the end. What a fantastic effort from the Wonder Twins, M.E. Carter and Andrea Johnston! These two are a powerhouse to be reckoned with.

I absolutely loved this book! It was so refreshing how the main character, Aggi, is quirky, awkward, and real! She has insecurities (just like us all) and is genuine and honest with her feelings. It was extremely refreshing to read about a woman who didn’t always have it all together. I related to Aggi a lot. The book also had me laughing a lot. I was incredibly impressed with the co-authors - I felt that the book flowed really well and I had no idea who wrote what.

ME Carter is a one click author for me. I was excited to see how this collaboration would turn out, especially after meeting Adi in Amazing Grayson. The idea of how an author would react to meeting her muse is genius! I love how the reader gets to be inside both Adi /Aggi and Spencer's heads. Some of Aggi's trains of thought had me laughing out loud. Spencer and Aggi have great chemistry, and the storyline was perfect for these characters. The story flowed so well that I would not have guessed there are two authors. I highly recommend this to anyone who likes real, relatable characters and the perfect amount of humor mixed in with a developing relationship.

I think I knew from the very first chapter that I was going to love this book. It started off very strong, introducing our main characters and their amazing qualities in a way that made me want to climb into the story and find out what was going to happen next. Our quirky heroine was so sweet and endearing that I rooted for her from the very beginning. And our sexy skateboarding muse was just the cherry on top of the story. So you're probably wondering why I only gave it 4 stars. Well, besides the fact that I'm extremely picky about giving out 5 stars to a book, for some reason I kind of lost my intense desire to find out what was going to happen next somewhere in the middle of this book. Be it the fact that our hero was maybe a little too perfect, or maybe a little too sweet for my taste? Or possibly just because the story slowed down a bit, I found myself feeling pretty sure I knew how this story was going to end. It's not necessarily a bad thing, but I just wanted a little more excitement from the story I think. But this book was honestly really fun. I loved Aggi (Agnes, Adi, Adeline.) She had as many personality quirks as she had names. She was so endearing and hilarious. I loved reading about her character and I loved hearing about her life. Spencer was the perfect hero for her character, balancing her craziness with patience and sincerity. So I definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves sports romance. And I really hope that Andrea Johnston and ME Carter continue to write together in the future!
