Two couples with stories that inter-twine. You have Sean O'Brien. He's the hot, cocky bar-tender/ex-con man and a member of the Reliance Group. He's given an assignment to find Grant Russo who happens to be the man who put his father in prison. To find Grant, Sean poses as a leasing agent for the Onyx Hotel & Casino to meet Grant's daughter Zoe Russo. Zoe Russo is the Owner of ZR Designs and is looking for a storefront for her first boutique to sell her merchandise. She arrives for the meeting at the Onyx with her BFF Jessica Morgan. Zoe is charmed by Sean, but has no time for men. She has a boutique to open and is worried about her father because she can't reach him. The heat and sexual tension between these two is seriously hot even after Sean's cover is blown. Zoe wants to locate her father so she agrees to work with Sean. There are twists and turns I didn't expect, but truly enjoyed how the story ended. As mentioned, you get two stories for the price of one. Jessica Morgan is a big time Rock Star who happens to be the silent business partner for ZR Designs. Jessica is all about the music, her BFF, and has no time for men. While Zoe signs the lease on the ZR Designs boutique Jessica deals with her fans, and then walks into the Onyx Club when she hears her music. The Club is closed and Jessica is caught by the one man she never forgot or expected to see again. Noah Young is the Manager of the Club and is shocked to see Jessica after all this time. Jessica hurt Noah when she broke up with him a couple of months after H.S. Graduation. This second story is more of a second chance love story, and it bring with it a lot of angst, regret, hurt, and love. This book was very hard to put down … the twist and turns keep drawing you back in. I volunteered to review an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Take a Chance (Vegas Heat Book 2) is the captivating, unputdownable love story of Sean O'Brien and Zoe Russo. It's not JUST a love story....it's a tale of love lost, redemption, revenge and making up for mistakes made in the past. You also get a love story within a love story! Zoe's BFF Jessica and Nick, a guy from her past that she thought would stay in her past! The heartbreaking twists and turns, secrets kept and revealed kept me turning the pages until the very last word. This series, so far, ranks right up there with my top faves and I can't wait for the next (and last) book in this entertaining, unforgettable trilogy! I wish I could give it MORE than 5 *****!

Erika Wilde wrote a wonderful hot bad boy-turns-good romance with Take a Chance, the second book in her Vegas Heat trilogy. This book is about redemption and absolving one’s self for past mistakes. Sean is an ex-con turned Onyx Casino bartender with a membership in the Reliance Group. They are looking for the man who lied and put Sean's father in prison years ago and seems to have embezzled from his company in a Ponzi scam. Zoe is the con artist's daughter. She works with Sean to locate her dad. There is definitely a lot of chemistry between the two of them. There is also a second chance, secondary romance that occurs between Zoe’s best friend, rock star Jessica Morgan and Vegas nightclub manager Noah. I loved reading Take a Chance. This book, a romantic suspense, is full of emotion; there is sadness, desire, fear, love and anxiety. Ms. Wilde wrote an excellent story capturing at least this reader in the web of intrigue in this story. I highly recommend this book to other readers. I am looking forward to reading the next story in this trilogy, Last Chance. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Okay. So when I started this book, not going to lie. I was REALLY nervous how everything would play out. Ex con, living a new, straight and narrow life, has a new job. New job requires him to more or less con a woman for information on her father. HOW would this work? Well, it totally worked. And it rocked my socks! I loved everything about Sean and Zoe. What an incredible ride they took us on. And if that wasn't enough.....there was a story within this story! Jessica (Zoe's best friend) and Noah got their happily ever after too after years of being apart! So much sexiness, drama, happiness and LOVE in one story!! It was so great!!!! Happy reading! :)

I loved that this book had 2 love stories going at the same time! Zoe and Jessica are best friends growing up and both get their happily ever afters! Sean is a reformed con man who falls head over heals for Zoe even though he doesn't think he'll ever be worthy of her. Zoe truly believes and trusts in the man he has become, he just needs to trust in himself. I loved Jessica and Noah's story, too. They were a secondary story to Sean and Zoe, but Jessica is a pop star who has overcome a bad time in life. She walked away from Noah when her life destroyed her. Noah and Jessica never got over each other and now reconnecting in Vegas is their second chance. I thought the story was good and the characters were great. All very real and likeable. It was a good read for me.

Oh Wow! What an amazing story. I absolutely loved Sean and Zoe together. Their chemistry was scorching hot but it was also sweet at times. And as an extra bonus, there's a secondary love story in here between Jessica and Noah. Jessica is Zoe's best friend and oh my, her life story was very emotional. I loved all the emotions and feelings I felt while reading this story. Now, if you've read Game of Chance, the first book in this Vegas Heat Series, know that Take a Chance is not as dark as the first book. There's still a little bit of suspense in this story but not as heart stopping suspenseful as the previous book. I really loved how balanced both love stories were presented in the book and the self evaluation and growth all the characters made so that they could reach their HEA. Definitely a highly recommended sigh-worthy read. * I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader copy of this book *

Judge a person, not by the mistakes made, but the lessons learned from them. Erika Wilde, has created a world where there is no black and white, only shades of grey. People have an agenda, hearts get broken and secrets abound. The Reliance Group may be unorthodox but they know how to get the job done. Sean O'Brien is a bad boy. He toes the line between con - artist and good guy, but hasn't quite figured out where he belongs. TRG saved him from his former life only to set him on a course that will have him facing his past in an up close and personal way. Zoe Russo is a woman with a plan. Find a place to launch her business and make it a success. Turning her dream into a reality has been anything but easy, then Sean walks into her life. Complicated, just became a whole lot worse. Let the explosives begin. Take a Chance is full of complexities. Ranging from a morality tale, to a redemption story and lead by an electromagnetic force of attraction, Ms. Wilde takes readers on an emotionally charged journey of healing that makes for a bumpy ride, but a worthy opponent.
