If one is looking for a way to release the day to day stress of life this book is the way to go. 'Take a Deep Breath: The Comedy Counselor's Guide to Stress Relief' allows one to focus in on the importance of breathing and laughter. Author, Andy Evans demonstrates in his book that 'laughter really is the best medicine'. Often, time is limited and it is nice to be able to pick up a book that reminds us to pay attention to our bodies. The book is an easy and quick read. Evans reminds us that it is important to breath right so as to stay healthy-in order to truly breath deeply one has to learn to laugh. Evans says it best when he says, 'Laughter is our most natural stress reliever. You can breathe without laughing, but you cannot laugh without breathing.'
WOW!!! What can I say about Andy Evans's DYNAMIC little stress relief book? It was OUTSTANDING, ENTERTAINING, THOUGHT-PROVOKING, ENGAGING, BREATH-INCUDING and HILARIOUSLY FUNNY. Still, none of these adequately describes the experience of TAKE A DEEP BREATH. I have read many self-help books but none captures the readers attention as effectively, yet as simplistically as did TAKE A DEEP BREATH. Evans keeps his promise of 'instantenous' stress relief-- using 'breathing as the vehicle and laughter as the fuel.' TAKE A DEEP BREATH is is a quick read, filled with lots of lively quips, tips, quotes, jokes, and annecdotes that'll keep you engaged from cover to cover. TAKE A DEEP BREATH! is the kind of book you buy for yourself, then buy several copies as gifts for family & friends. After reading it, you'll find folks coming back to tell you a joke or sharing a laugh with you about one of their own stressful experiences. TAKE A DEEP BREATH is a great book for all ages. My 12-year-old even found his book to be a fun read-- and we haven't shared a lot of books lately. He gets a kick out of telling me to 'take a deep breath' whenever I'm about to go off about something. I think that the author hits the nail right on the head with this wonderful breathing tome. TAKE A DEEP BREATH changes your prespective, improves your breathing, makes you laugh, and thus relieves stress. What a nice bonus.
