"Absolutely amazing! LOVE LOVE LOVE...In my opinion, I feel that A.L. Jackson is the female version of Nicholas Sparks." Taryn, My Secret Romance

There are some mistakes we make that we will regret for the rest of our lives. For Christian, it was the day he betrayed Elizabeth.

Christian Davison has a plan for his life. He is determined to become an attorney and to one day take his place as partner in his father's law firm. Nothing will stand in his way, not even Elizabeth Ayers and their unborn child.

After Christian cuts her from his life, Elizabeth spends the next five years struggling to provide for her daughter and willing to sacrifice anything to give her child a safe, comfortable life. For five years, Christian has regretted the day he walked away from his family and will do anything to win them back just as Elizabeth will do anything to protect her daughter from the certain heartache she believes Christian will bring upon them.

When Christian wrestles his way into their lives, Elizabeth is faced with asking herself if it is possible to forgive someone when they've committed the unforgivable and if it is possible to find a love after it has been buried in years of hate.

Or are there some wounds that go so deep they can never heal? They say everyone deserves a second chance.

About the Author

A.L. Jackson first found a love for writing during her days as a young mother and college student. She filled the journals she carried with short stories and poems used as an emotional outlet for the difficulties and joys she found in day-to-day life.

Years later, she shared a short story she’d been working on with her two closest friends and, with their encouragement, this story became her first full length novel. A.L. now spends her days writing in Southern Arizona where she lives with her husband and three beautiful children. Her favorite pastime is spending time with the ones she loves.

I only made it about a third of the way through before all the melodrama and grammatical errors forced me to stop and write a review. Everything in this book is extremely overdramatic, it's like reading a soap opera. The reactions by some of the character , especial from Elizabeth, seemed forced it was terrible. I do not believe the love between Christian and Elizabeth. When something terrible happened to Christian he allowed his daughter to comfort him and even his ex girlfriend but not the women he loves? It's unreal. And every paragragh he talks about how much he loves his daughter...it is boarderline creepy the way he goes into detail about how he loves his daughter. Right now I'm at page 153 and I'm not surprised by any of the plot twist, I saw them coming a mile away. Overall I'm not happy with the purchase of the book and wouldn't recommened it to anyone.

People REVIEW the book, DON'T sumurize the book! Get over yourselves!

It was an okay book, however the characters bothered me. Elizabeth should have found a nice guy instead of hanging onto the one who threw her out. It was also strange how christian woke up one day and decided to find his daughter all of a sudden. Overall i did not like christian and thought that elizabeth was weak. The book was very dramatic.

I always read reviews before buying a book and thought I would enjoy Lost to You and Take this Regret after reading such great reviews. I thought Lost to You was so boring. I rated that one a 3 out of 5 stars. I wasn't sure if I would like Take this Regret after reading the first one and I have to say I loved it. Kept me interested in the story line and always looking forward to what was going to happen next.

This book was ok. I knew how the story was going to end. I just had to read through all the melodrama, before it was all over. I thought the part where Lizzie misses her Daddy so much that she goes into a zombie like state. I thought it was overkill. The way that Lizzie clamored and attached herself to her Daddy was also a bit much for me, it was as if he was all that existed for her. I wish that Elizabeth had fallen in love and married some one else other than the jerk who threw her out. This isn't really my cup of tea, I hate to see women treated that way.

This is one of my all time favorite stories. It is so complex and heartbreaking and meaningful and hopeful. This is the first series I read by AL Jackson and she sucked me in and hasn't let go yet. I read the prequel first, but you don't have to. This works as a standalone telling the tale of Christian and Elizabeth. My heart was in my throat most of the time, but it only leads to the most perfect conclusion. I've reread the whole series at least three times, but I've reread this book alone several more times. It's perfect for when I need a does of great writing, brilliant story telling, and a feeling of coming home to my favorite characters.

I didn't enjoy this book. I wish I'd read the reviews before purchasing it. I liked the first book, and I thought I'd enjoy seeing where Elizabeth & Christian ended up. I was unimpressed and definitely not interested in reading a third angst filled installment. JLR

Again... AL Jackson does not disappoint. When I started this book I felt as tho my heart was being torn out my chest... I could not imagine how poor elizabeth felt... to have been give a choice.... wow.... throughout the book I was totally on her side but Christian was Def getting brownie points. I loved how his mother became an alley for both Christian and Elizabeth. her strength for Christian was beautiful. Lizzie was adorable and her love and acceptance was amazing. elizabeth wantednothing more than to protect her daughter and having Matthew tell her what she needed to hear was great... elizabeth had an incrediblesupport system. the story goes on to fill you with more heart ache and love... the ending was beyond what I could have hoped for. just perfect really... I wish I could give you more words for it but it's perfect.... you feel as though you are there and you experience the pain, love, andjoy the characters fee... PERFECT!

To be honest, I think this one might be my least favorite A.L. Jackson novel. Mostly because after the big wrong committed in this book, you really want to slap a certain cute boy upside the head and it takes most of the entire book for you to like him again. Or at least that's how it happened for me. However, as always, it was nicely written, although it lacked as much of the poetic wording that the Closer to You series and A Stone in the Sea had. Which is fine, just a slightly different anyway. I did keep reading because I wanted to know how on earth A.L. Jackson was going to get these two together after all that had happened. However, my reading usually serves a purpose to escape real life - which is why I gravitate towards paranormal romance usually, so I wasn't having a great time reading about real-life issues and real mistakes men and women make in their lives that are awful even if they aren't awful people. It was heartbreaking to read, honestly. I do think that A.L. Jackson's tackling of these very real mistakes or life issues in her books makes her an astounding writer when she can turn it into a beautiful story that is sometimes very painful to read but nonetheless satisfying once you finish. Of course, by the end of the book I kept wanting to smack Elizabeth for her ridiculous actions regarding passion. Can't say much more than that, but.... How is a man hungry for you demeaning? So 3.5 mostly because it was a good read, but yeah, I wouldn't call it enjoyable for me. Though a lot of that is personal taste.

Lots of regrets, sadness, forgiveness, trust issues, love along with lots of drama. I don't know how Elizabeth could forgive after five rough years but their lve was stronger. It was so emotional I can't think of reading the next one.

No Regrets Here I personally enjoyed this story, I do believe in second chances. One of my favorite lines from this book is "Elizabeth was a gift and Lizzie was my treasure." my heart melted when I read that.
