Overview

Her lying, cheating husband betrayed her. Devastated, she quit her teaching job. Now Robyn Rose isn't sure she has it in her to start over again in the only job she ever really enjoyed--the theatre.

But support for her penniless artistic future is limited, until she meets Joseph James Davis. He is the director of Robyn's last-chance gig, and has some unique, over-his-lap sorts of ideas about what it takes to keep his stage manager on her best behavior. He also might just be her last chance at love.

Now, if only they can get their lead actress (who is also his ex-girlfriend) to take the stage without destroying their possibility at a future together.

Publisher's Note: Taking the Stage features descriptions of nudity and adult, consensual spanking. If you are uncomfortable with these subjects, please read something else.

I really enjoyed the different plot of this new book from Paige. Dealing with the intricacies of creating a new stage production and two of the principals who have to work together to make it happen, the Director (Joseph James) and the Stage Manager (Robyn Rose), is a refreshing new storyline. Joseph is a dominant personality who believes in firm discipline, and Robyn is a closet submissive who needs exactly what he has to offer. Their developing romantic relationship melds nicely within the developing production of the new stage play. The fact that the Producer has a hand in the development of both is not lost on the reader. There are some twists and sub plots, but the recurring theme is one of domestic discipline lovingly administered and received. There is almost no actual sex in this book, and there spankings were of a discipline type only, but all in all it was well worth the read. I received this book as an advance review copy from the publisher.

This was certainly an interesting story focused on the characters in a theatre production. Roby was stage manager and quite highly strung, given to loud tantrums when things got too much and apparently unable to be on time. Joseph is the director and took her in hand fairly early on. Roby divorced her ex husband for infidelity however during the marriage she was aware that she wanted him to take more of a controlling role. Joseph was able to provide this for her and given their working relationship was determined to keep things platonic. I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

This is a great story about a lady,Robyn, facing cross roads. Her marriage has ended, ex husband was the principal at the school she taught at so she needs a new job and her loving and caring family... well they love TOO much as only one in that situation can know. In comes James. He's been set up the same as Robyn by their old friend Sean. Sean just knows they are made for each other if he can only get them together. So the story goes and the adventure begins and boy do they have fun and the sparks fly! Ms. Parsons sure had me enthralled as I couldn't put the book down! I sure hope there's a follow up story later to come. I'd love to know what happens next. Note: I receive a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Roby finds her self at a turning point in her life, recently divorced and betrayed, she makes another change to a new career as a stage manager. Joseph is the director and slowly they become more than co-workers. His dominance and penchant for rule following collide with her free spirit and the haphazard way she deals with her personal matters. I really enjoyed this story. I found it well-written and the characters well developed. They struggled with not wanting a work place romance, and I loved the way the relationship developed slowly and naturally without either one of them forcing it along.
