"Tale of Ephemeral Street" is a beautifully written short novel that captivates the reader with its mystery, likable characters, and swift pace. Set in 1950's Hong Kong (I am assuming), it tells the intriguing story of "the living ghost" and defines what it is to love and live. While the story is simple and at times feels a bit rushed (I would have liked more developments and perhaps some subplots to better flesh out some of the characters), it is truly the writing by author TkN that shines and makes this novel worth reading and emotionally riveting. Filled with nice symbolism, powerful dialogues, and even some catchy poetry, TkN paints a vivid picture, bringing the reader back to a simpler time, with her colorful words.
