5Q- The story is humorous and touching while the mixed media illustrations are equally silly, detailed, and expression-rich.5P- Kids will love this story from the moment they pick it up. The size is right for beginning readers, the text is well placed in amongst the illustrations. Picky eaters and others will enjoy the twists and turns of the story.

4Q, 4PWhile not the quality of an award-winner, the book is well and thoughtfully written with its audience in mind. The illustrations are bright, fun, and an integral part of the story. The silliness of the stories, the beautiful artwork, and the division of the book into five short tales will appeal to even reluctant readers.

This was a very cute beginner chapter book. It would be very useful as a mentor text . Students could write their own versions reason why they should eat certain foods. It would also be useful to introduce lessons on nutrition and healthy eating habits.

This is an awesome book (a Theodor Seuss Geisel winner at that!) and I'm a little perplexed at the Clever Dad who "highly recommended" it would only give it 3 stars. Hmmm. Anyway, it's a lot of fun and perfect for new readers, esp those who don't always like to eat their broccoli.

What a fun look at kids and how they think. And how a clever dad can change his picky eaters outlook. Highly recommend this one. Very fun.
