Tall People

Seiryu Tokinage is a two-hundred-foot-tall lizard living in Brooklyn. He is part of a community of "Tall people," giants resembling animals trying their best to mesh into human society. Seiryu works as a one-man police unit protecting New York City from alien attacks. He feels unappreciated by the people he saves and has developed gripes with the people closest to him. Seiryu is jealous of his roommate Junior, a Tall bonobo, who New York adores because of his job as a window washer. His best friend, Sook, a giant fish-frog, has become an intolerant drunk. Chloe, his Cloverfield-esque girlfriend, is often too awkward and shy to interest him. Seiryu decides to leave town before his bitterness turns him into a kaiju-a rogue Tall man who destroys cities and eats humans.

"While other writers reduce us to mere natural catastrophes, Evan finally grants us the dignity and agency we've long been denied." -Godzilla

"I never thought I'd see the day we got a giant monster story without some half-baked human drama shoehorned in. Give the giant monsters the problems, the feelings, and the emotional victories-finally, someone gets it." -King Kong

"A sweet, charming story that's basically made to be read with your feet up on a beach chair... if you have those." -The Blob
