Overview

Taming Eliza Jane by Shannon Stacey

When a man sets out to tame a strong-willed woman, he'd best hang on to his hat.

Will Martinson, the town doctor, already has a heap of troubles on his plate, what with a pregnant whore, an ailing friend and a sheriff with a bad habit of shooting people. The last thing he needs is a strong hankering for a woman who thinks it's her duty to turn a man's life upside-down.

Eliza Jane Carter is a woman on a mission. She's going to improve the lives of the women in Gardiner, Texas before moving on to the next town. But when her finances take a turn for the worse and her chaperone heads for the hills, Eliza Jane is stranded in a town full of riled up menfolk, a gun-happy sheriff and one handsome doctor who makes her question everything she ever believed about the love between a man and a woman.

Taming Eliza Jane is approximately 48,000 words and was previously published under the same title. No changes have been made to the story.

This was the first book I'd read by Shannon Stacey and I enjoyed it. It's a quick, light read with more emphasis on plot than sex (which I prefer). The heroine is pretty progressive for the time period, as is her extremely understanding hero. If you're looking for a lot of historical accuracy, then this probably isn't for you, but if you just want a light romance with quite a bit of humor, then give it a try.

I've read 4 of her books now...I really like her writing style. Her characters are honest with their emotions and so varied. She speaks from the men's characters like she's a guy. It's great. Witty, outright FUNNY, good story lines, love, sex, family dynamics, wonderful banter - Purely enjoyed it!

This was a wonderful book...the story between Will and Eliza Jane was refreshing, funny and touching. And I LOVED Adam, Will's best friend and his ugly horse. HAVE TO READ! I really enjoyed it!
