I remember my mom using this book a bunch when I was a kid, and now that I'm expecting my first child this is the first kiddie cookbook I've made sure to buy. It's full of healthy snacks and other foods that are still fun and delicious for kids, and in retrospect I realize how entertaining and educational it was to flip through the book when I was growing up. I'm definitely not a 'crunchy' person, but I am hoping to get my household and nutrition on the healthier side once the baby comes and I know this is going to be a big help.
I purchased my first book 20 years ago when Vicki Lansky first published it. I have used it so many times and have recommended or given as gifts hundreds of times. It gave me so many wonderful ideas. Many recipes I still use although my children are 27 & 23. I am now buying copies of the revised book for them to use when they have children. This book gave me a wealth of ideas and those lead to ideas of my own. I think it should be a "staple" for every parent. Thanks to Vicky Lansky for providing it for us. I made my own babyfood and never bought one jar of it in the grocery. Then I moved on to this book and have thoroughly enjoyed it and raising healthy children.
