About the Author

Kari Lynn Dell is a native of north central Montana, a third generation ranch-raised cowgirl, horse trainer and rodeo competitor, most recently the 2017 Canadian Senior Pro Rodeo Association Breakaway Roping season champion. She attended her first rodeo at two weeks old and has existed in a state of horse-induced poverty ever since. She currently resides on the family ranch on the Blackfeet Reservation, loitering in her parents' bunkhouse along with her husband, son and Max the Cowdog, with a tipi on the front step, a view of Glacier National Park from her writing desk and Canada within spitting distance.

The third book of her Texas Rodeo series, Tougher in Texas, is a 2018 finalist for the Romance Writers of America's RITA® awards.

This is fast becoming an addictive series. This book features Delon Sanchez, the father of Beni from the first book. He has been badly injured at a rodeo and generally feeling sorry for himself. He also can't believe that he is following in his older brother Gil's footsteps even now. Learning to bronc ride, falling for a rich girl way out of his league, and destroying a promising career with a stupid accident. Now he's working for the family trucking business and realising that Gil has taken control. Tori Patterson was the rich girl that got away, the shiny daughter of the state Senator, now she's back but a whole lot different. Gone is the bronco Barbie with the bleached blonde hair and electric blue eyes, now she's quieter, less dramatic looking and Delon's new physiotherapist. But as the mistakes of the past are brought to light can Delon and Tori make a new future under the spotlight of the press, or will pride and prejudice keep them apart once more? I didn't think much of Delon in the first book, nothing bad, just not much personality but ho-boy he comes into his own now. I loved his drive and determination and love for his son. Recommended for anyone who likes a slow-burn romance with lots of rodeo-style action (even though Delon can't compete because of his injury), great characters and believable storylines.

"Tangled in Texas" begins after Delon has fallen off his horse in the rodeo and suffered severe injuries. Although he is lucky to be alive, he is mourning the lack of movement in his knee- he may not be able to compete again if he cannot regain its motion. As he heads to physical therapy, he is shocked to find his ex- the one that got away- is going to be his therapist. Tori has returned to town a year after her husband's death, completely different than the woman she was when she dated Delon. She has lost the drapings and frills and is just herself. While they are both denying the attraction that still remains years later, they are also both nursing a lot of hurt over the way it ended. She seemingly disappeared into the night- and he didn't come after her. Both are also still going through a tough time due to the circumstances of life, but they work together on improving Delon's knee and expediting his recovery. This book is filled to the brim with sexual tension, both from Tori and Delon's third person limited perspectives. However, the misunderstandings and back-and-forth ended up driving me a little crazy. Despite maturing over several years (presumably) and their impromptu counseling session provided by a third character, they maintain the same lack of communication problems that led to their break-up in the first place, and I didn't feel like their relationship was growing up much. Needless to say, I groaned in frustration quite a bit while reading this book. That being said, I definitely bumped up the rating because there are some really amazing side characters. Shawnee was by far my favorite with her no-nonsense attitude and sly comments. Beni (Delon's 6-year-old son) was a close second with his insightful comments and general cuteness. Gil, Delon's brother, was also a unique character who brought a lot of wisdom and heart to the story. And don't worry, despite all the mishaps/misunderstandings, this has a HEA! Please note that I received a copy of this book from a giveaway. All opinions are my own.

Delon woke up mad at the world. No difference than any other morning in the last four months. He had been hurt at the end of the best rodeo season Delon ever had. He had been trampled by a horse and his lung collapsed and his leg was messed up also. Delon was to see a new physical therapist. His sessions were getting to be very frustrating that only showed the lack of progress. Delon had a son with Violet named Beni. Delon and Violet weren’t together and he just let her do whatever she wanted to do as long as Beni was ok Violet had been Delon’s childhood friend and in his heart he wanted to get together with Violet and the three of them with their son Beni be a family. But she was involved with a rodeo man named Joe. Delon had to have his knee reconnected. Then a person from his past was to work with Delon her name was Tori Delon had been with Torin for five to six months. Ten she was gone without goodbye or anything. Tori was a rich girl and had walked on the other side. The voice- Tori’s voice- whispered through Delon’s memories for seven years. Delon had been one of the top bareback riders for years. Tori was sure she could be Delons therapist but she would do her best to be successful with him. Tori had been married but her husband died. Delon’s father owned Sanchez Trucking. Delon’s brother was leaving for North Dakota so Delon agreed to take his load so it didn't affect the business. Delon feels he is different and doesn’t even really like himself. Delon and Tori were taking the time to really getting to know each other and go slowly into a relationship. I liked this story . a lot. I liked Tori and Delon together and I rooted for them. I love how they slowly went into a relationship even though the attraction was still very strong. But they are taking time to get to know each other. I loved Shanee as a character and felt she added to the story. This did drag at times.at times. This did make me chuckle at times. It did get a little repetitive at times and a little confusing . But i really liked the characters and the ins and outs of this story and I recommend.

Great second book in the series. The second book was all about second chances, both in love and career. I also enjoyed seeing how the new blended family finds its way.

2.5 stars I am always looking for sorbet, so when I saw this synopsis I was sold on the idea of a rekindled romance. The cowboy part was a bonus. I liked Tori and Delon well enough. They're both a little head shy and a lot stubborn. There's a lot of history between them and it took a really long time to work it out. There's a pretty large cast of characters here, but the stand out was Shawnee. I would seriously read a book of hers. The writing was a bit dense and it seemed to get a little repetitive. There was a lot of miscommunication and that drives me crazy. Eventually I just stopped caring about Tori's roping or Delon getting back on a horse. I wanted more of them talking and more sweetness between them. Overall, I enjoyed parts of it, but not everything. I am mildly interested in future books, but it would depend on who it focused on. **Huge thanks to Sourcebooks and NetGalley for providing the arc free of charge**

The biggest risk in life is heeding the heart's call. Pride tore them apart years ago, can loss bring them full circle? Tangled In Texas reads like a country song. The road of broken hearts and shattered dreams leads right to a second chance for lovebirds Deion and Tori. If the egos and pain of the past don't terminate any chance they have at a future. Will they take the chance? I volunteered to read a copy of Tangled in Texas in exchange for an honest review. This is my second time reading a Kari Lynn Dell romance and I am swept away by her display of sentiment and hope in her deeply emotive stories. She balances it out with a little light humor and how can a heart walk away from such sweet tales.
