One Amazing Suspense .I volunteered to read and review an advanced readers copy thru Netgallery of Tangled Threat .I'll start by saying I truely believe this is one of the best stories I have read .It's fantastic !I was intrigued from the beginning the suspense and mystery keeps you on the edge of your seat . The story is interesting and Intense . Brock McGovern and girlfriend Maura Antrim as teenagers worked at Frampton Ranch And Resort together and discovered a coworkers body hanging from a tree . The murder and Brock was wrongfully accused pulled them apart . Years later they find themselves back at the resort her as a video producer and Special FBI agent there to find missing women and solve the crimes both cold and new . Along the way Brock and Maura may find a second chance . This story is well written, the characters are interesting and unique . This story will keep you guessing till the very end .So full of twists and turns . All out a fabulous story .I highly recommend taking the time to read . This is definitely Outstanding .

Heather has done it again! I loved this book! It had it all; history, romance, ghosts , murder and suspense. Young people who witnessed a murder at a ranch resort find themselves reunited twelve years later back at the scene of a unsolved murder. Each of them has a new life but they all share the memories of that fateful night. Memories that are stirred as girls begin to disappear- is the murderer back!

I was looking for something a little different and this Harlequin Intrigue caught my attention. The intrigue was there but the romance fell a little flat for me. Brock and Maura dated once years ago when they saw something that changed their lives. Brock is now an FBI agent who has returned to the resort where the infamous Hanging Tree is, to help with the investigation of three missing girls. Maura happens to be there as well filming short videos of the spooky occurrences at the resort. This mystery kept me entertained, but the odd formatting had me re-reading many sections because I thought I skipped something. The twist at the end was one I definitely did not see coming. So that was surprising. I felt like the second chance romance took a back seat to the mystery which was to be expected. I just hoped as I read on that it would change but it didn't.

Brock and Maura were in love once but events beyond their control sent them in different directions. Years later, they are back at the resort where they fell in love and the place that is believed to be associated with a serial killer. Other individuals that were there years ago are back as well. Could that mean that one of them is the killer? This book has a little of everything and I really enjoyed it.

TANGLED THREAT is an interesting suspense with a touch of romance. Maura and Brock were dating when they were young, and separated after a terrible murder. Brock was initially arrested for it, but soon released- however, Maura's parents had already made her leave. Now, Brock is an FBI agent called back to the area to investigate a murder and some disappearances. Reuniting and solving a crime, the focus is on the suspense, but the second chance romance adds a nice, light touch to the book. This is a fast-paced read that goes smoothly. With some history and plenty of mystery, the book moves quickly. Highly recommend for fans of suspense with enjoy a touch of romance alongside it. Please note that I received an ARC from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

My thoughts Rating :5 Would I recommend it?yes Would I read anything else by this author?yes in fat she's one of my favorite romance author's to read This book is a stand alone so you can read it when ever you want to, its perfect for anytime , because of the atmosphere that it has , history of the place , ghost stories told around an old spooky tree, and murder , a wrongful arrested and untold romance that goes south for a while, then you have the age old question who doing it , messing girls and then reman history repeats itself. This story just like every one of her stories I've read had me hooked from the very start, it has me question every thing I knew about the characters and the more I read and found out about them the more I either liked them or hated them. With that said I want to thank Netgalley for letting me read and review it exchange for my honest opinion .

I used to read all of the books by this author, so I was really happy to receive an ARC from net galley. I found a few hours of free time, settled back to read...And was totally disappointed. I don't know if I've grown out of this type of book, or The author has changed, but I was bored. Yes, bored. Romance, mystery, ghosts...what's not to love? The answer...the writing. There seemed to be a lot of rambling. And i did not feel like I was immersed in the story. I was not drawn in. And the romance? What romance? They were in love in their teens, we're separated by a misunderstanding, reunited as adults and boom...they were just back together like an old married couple....like I said, boring.

The premise of the book is promising, the execution, not so much. Except for some tedious re-telling of the same Gyselle story, the first part of the book kept me entertained. Unfortunately between the poor format the lackluster romance, and really the non-urgency of anyone to solve the crimes, the second half of the book was just a let down. Hopefully the formatting issue was just the ARC I received and will be fixed when the book is released, but it made for some difficulty in understanding what was going on in some of the scenes. At one point, I think a whole section or even chapter was left out because the scene just didn’t make any kind of sense. The romance between Brock and Maura was not believable. For them to have been estranged for 12 years and supposedly have animosity because of it, they fell into bed super quick, with nothing resolved other than “I did write you” and “Oh I guess my parents hid that from me.” It seems other people had to keep reminding everyone that they were “so in love”, because I couldn’t see it. Again, there had to be a chapter or something missing, because the big reveal at the end, was out of nowhere. I had kinda figured out some of it, but the other part just seemed manufactured out of nowhere. Somehow, Maura just figured it out on her own, like an epiphany. And then they live Happily Ever After… in New York. One good thing, I know A LOT about the state of Florida. ARC received from NetGalley for an honest review.

I was really excited to read this book. This was my first time reading anything from this author and I’ve been wanting to read something of hers. I wasn’t a big fan of this book though. It was good and it kept me interested but I feel like the story was really slow playing out and then at the end it was like “bam!” It’s over. I would definitely like to try to read a couple more by this author. The book was good, it just needed a better way to end it.

FBI agent Brock McGovern is going back to a place that holds bad memories. He had been arrested for murder and his young love had been swept away. Three women are missing and it is his job to find out why. Is there a curse waiting to deal him a dose of justice….or a murderer waiting to be caught? The History Tree…I love trees. I don’t know why, but anything about them makes me curious and a tree with a cursed history…well, I gotta know. This is a convoluted mystery that spans decades. All the players are together again and I am crossing them off my bad list, one by one. Heather doesn’t make it easy as she sends me off on one false trail after another…and I am happy to go down those trails…all the way to the end. I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of Tangled Threat by Heather Graham.

This was my first time reading this author, and I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised for how intriguing and compelling the plot was. The romantic subplot was beautifully constructed without overshadow the search for clues to solve the mystery. The whole time I was reading I was trying to figured the answer about who committed all those murders (and kidnaps), but I didn't see that end coming. And I loved that!

Tangled Threat is a pretty quick read, which is about as good as it got for me. Had it not been, I'm not sure I would've persevered. There is suspense, but there is way too much repetition with things being gone over and over again as information is passed from one person to the next. Then we have what was supposed to be a second chance romance. I say supposed to be because I didn't see any chemistry between this couple. We're told that they're still crazy about each other, that their teenage love has never died, but I didn't see that between them. It felt like the romance was just thrown in there - Here's this mystery with some danger, and oh yeah, these two are in love - and we're just supposed to take that at face value. Don't tell me, show me, convince me that I should be rooting for this couple's happy ever after. I've read several of Heather Graham's books, and I don't know if I've changed or she has, but I just felt like something was missing here.

Heather Graham writes another mystery/thriller that presses all the buttons at the right times! It was a quick read that introduces you to the main characters, but doesn’t spend lots of time on unnecessary detail. She gets right to the main gyst of the story....there is another murder in a place with a history of murder and mystery, known as The History Tree. At the same time, we are introduced to the main characters in the story, young college students working for their summer who think they have their future planned, but who will become star-crossed lovers, as well as guests and workers at the resort. We fast forward 12 years....and all main characters are back at the same resort, and young women are missing.....are the murders related.....and is it coincidental that the same people are back in the same place? Brock, who was suspected of the murder 12 years ago, is back to investigate as a member of the FBI. His lost love, Maura, is also back at the resort as a producer of films. The mystery surrounding who is the murderer plays out well, and I was kept guessing until the very end. I enjoyed the small side-stories of some of the characters and how they interacted. I felt the ending seemed to come rather quickly...and maybe would have liked a little more substance to the final stages of the investigation.....but all in all....I really enjoyed reading the book and would recommend it to others who favor this genre. Thank you to Net Galley, the author and the publisher for allowing me to review this ARC in return for an honest review, which this has been. #NetGalley, #TangledThreat

Tangled Threat is a Harlequin Intrigue title written by one of my must read authors Heather Graham. At a little over 250 pages, the author manages to squeeze in a good dose of romantic suspense. Maura Antrim returns to the History Tree, the site of a murder from twelve years before, as a videographer documenting the history of the area. Brock McGovern walks in out of her past. Arrested and released for the murder, Brock hasn't seen or heard from Maura since that fateful night. Now an FBI agent investigating disappearances, Brock begins to dig into what really happened twelve years before. A second chance at love and ever looming danger keep the pages flowing before delivering a sweet HEA in the speedy Harlequin formula Intrigue readers have come to expect and love. The whodunit is not totally unexpected but does have a little twist for added thrills. Ms. Graham delivers exactly what I expected to enjoy with her name in the Harlequin Intrigue line of books. My voluntary, unbiased review is based upon a review copy from Netgalley.

Tangled Threat – Heather Graham Brock McGovern and Maura Antrim were teenaged lovers as they worked together at a famed resort, the Frampton Ranch & Resort, in central Florida 12 years ago. Then one night, the body of a colleague was found hanging from the infamous ‘History Tree’, resulting in the misguided arrest of Brock, and Maura, whisked away from her parents, never heard from him again…till now. Flash forward to the present day…Brock, long since exonerated, is now and up and coming FBI agent, who is being sent to Florida to investigate a rash of recent murders, all with ties somehow to the Frampton Ranch. Maura, now a video producer, is at the resort with a client who is filming highlight specials on the area history, the History Tree, and the ranch itself. Others who were present on that day long ago have also remained close by, resulting in a reunion of sorts as Brock arrives in town. In predictable fashion, Brock and Maura eventually talk about the events of years ago, and resume their relationship, as Brock hunts for a killer. The protagonist is fairly easy to guess, and like most mid-sized Harlequin novels, the ending is a predictable & happy one!! The book gives a lot of history into the St. Augustine and central Florida areas as part of the backstory, in and around the investigation of the murders, which, as a newer Florida resident, I found fascinating! In fact, I am eagerly planning a trip now to The Devil’s Millhopper, a park I had not known of before this book. I could not find a reference to the History Tree, although I did find another – the Senator Tree – which may have been loosely modified for this story – going to head there too! All in all, quick, good beach read, especially if you happen to be vacationing in northeastern Florida! I was fortunate to receive this book as an Advance Reader Copy from Netgalley, in exchange for an objective review.

New to this author, Brock and Maura have a history. As teens they witness something that tears them apart. 12 years later they are back to the same area were it all started. Their story is full of suspense and a who did it.? I Gave this book 4.5 stars. This was an ARC that I received from Net Gallery.

Thank you NetGalley, Heather Graham, and Harlequin Intrigue Publishing for the advance copy of Tangled Threat. This book was a very fast read. From the start Heather did not waste time in long introductions of each character. I liked that because a lot times the introduction of characters can make a story to long. There are two stories being told in this story, a “who done it” thriller and a love story. First, the love story was well written. It was beautiful to see the interaction between Maura and Brock. Especially, since they were high school sweethearts and an unfortunate incident came between them. To see years later that they still have the same chemistry and love that they had when they were teenagers. When it came to the thriller aspect of this story, I thought it was well written, because I could not figure out the “who done it” part of the story. I love when thrillers are hard to figure out, it makes the story more exciting. The only part that I did not like was that the discovery of who done it came very fast. It seemed one second everyone was still trying to figure out who was causing the trouble and then boom it was all figured out. Aside from the ending feeling rushed, I truly enjoyed this story and found it to be an enjoyable read. I would recommend this book for anyone to read and give it 4 stars.

This book started out with an interesting concept. I liked the Florida lore, and how there was a parallel between what happened in the past and what was happening in the present. I also like how the author brought the characters back to the “scene of the crime,” albeit in different positions, 12 years after the fact. There were definite bones of a good story here (no pun intended). Unfortunately, the plot wandered about 2/3 of the way through, with the introduction of a strange piece of lore, a few seemingly pointed references that didn’t need to be included, and a muddled ending that is not as clear as it could have been. I ended with more questions than I had as I was reading the story. Thank you to NetGalley, Harlequin Intrigue, and the author for a complimentary, pre-release digital ARC of this book.

I'm a huge fan of Heather Graham Krewe of Hunter and I liked this book even if I think that mystery part was better than the romantic one. The cast of character is well written but the romance seems to be a bit rushed without any real chemistry between the characters. The mystery is great and gripping, it kept me guessing till the end and was well crafted. Recommended! Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine.

Maura and Brock’s teenage summer romance came to an abrupt halt upon the discovery of a dead body at the resort’s famed History Tree. Fast forward twelve years later and they both find themselves back at the resort for completely different reasons. Maura finds out that her parents blocked all of Brock’s attempts to contact her when they were young. There are several missing young women in the area and Brock has been sent by the FBI to investigate as he is familiar with the area. A well written mystery with well developed characters. I was astounded by the ending!!!

An interesting and ready to read romantic suspense from one of my favorite authors. I enjoyed both the mystery (which had me guessing to the end) and the second-chance romance. And the other characters were perfect as red herrings. Thank you to Harlequin and NetGalley for an advance copy of this book. My thoughts and opinions are my own and without bias.

This was an intriguing story that drew me in from almost the first page and kept me engaged throughout. There is plenty of suspense and drama and a very liberal dose of romance to keep you guessing until the very end Maura Antrim and Brock McGovern are both working for the summer vacation at a local resort and are enjoying a summer romance together when everything comes to a screaming halt when a woman's body is found hanging from the history tree Brock was arrested as a person of interest and though he was released almost immediately by then Maura's parents had taken her away. Now twelve years later they have both returned Brock is now an FBI agent sent to investigate more murders in the area and Maure is a videographer . With Brock hot on the case Maura decides to help him and in the process all of the old emotions surface are these latest murders linked to the one in their past and will the danger draw them closer or split them a part.

Heather Graham is a fairly new to me author. I've only read one short story by her and I really liked it. So when I got the chance to read Tangled Threat, I was excited about it. Tangled Threat is a pretty quick read. I loved the fact that a lot of it took place in St. Augustine, which is one of my favorite cities in the world. I love when a story takes place in a city that I'm familiar with, because then I can really picture the places that were mentioned! The couple of sex scenes that are in the book are not graphic. If you have a weak stomach, the ME report might bother you, but that isn't a huge part to the story. I did not figure out who was behind the whole thing at all until it was revealed! Overall, I really enjoyed the story and will be definitely reading more by this author. Thank you to Netgalley and Harlequin for the copy. All opinions expressed are my own.
