Bree is always up for excitement. Her close and sexy encounter with Max is unlike anything she’s felt before, and she wants more. Tangled Up is the second book in the Taking Chances series by Erin Nicholas but can be read as a stand alone. This story focuses on 2 friends that finally give into the love they have for each other. The struggle for happily ever after comes because Max feels Bree is only interested in him for the excitement a new love brings & will soon tire of him. Love this series & love how the author creates passionate & strong characters. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

I truly loved reading Tangled Up the second book in Erin Nicholas’ Taking Chances series. Ms. Nicholas knows how to create a sweet and loving story for two friends who cross the bounds of friendship into being lovers. Max Grady is a storm chaser who feels another storm heading for Chance, Nebraska as he arrives for his high school reunion. Chance attracts more storms than normal for a Midwestern town in tornado alley. Bree McDermott is best friends with Max, always restless, hopping between adrenaline driven jobs and activities. Currently she is a police officer in Chance. After Bree joins Max chasing this storm, they find themselves in a ditch as a tornado passes over them. This is only the beginning of the changes in their friendship. What follows is a wonderful story not only about the people of this small town who come together to rebuild their town as well as how Bree and Max come to terms with the change in the dynamics of their relationship. There is more than one way to love another. This was a fun and entertaining story with loveable characters that you want to support and cheer on hoping for that happy ending. The characters were well written, authentic and complex. I highly recommend this book to all readers. I truly enjoyed this book and had trouble putting it down. The story line was riveting and kept my attention to the very end. Although this book is part of a series it is a standalone story.

This new romance from Erin Nicholas combines the excitement of storm chasers with thrill of a second chance romance. This book is again set in Chance, Nebraska and pairs best friends Max and Bree who are about to confront their feelings for each other after. Max is home for a high school reunion, when a tornado hits the town. Bree is forced to confront her feelings for her best friend and they must work out if their relationship is to remain friends only or evolve into something more? Ms. Nicholas is a master of creating appealing characters, awesome Midwestern towns, and sizzling chemistry between the leads. This is the second book in the series and happens at the same time as Twisted Up. If you like contemporary romance with an adventurous spin this is the book for you! I was given a free copy for an honest review.

ERIN NICHOLAS… OMG Thank you for writing this phenomenal book. I LOVED absolutely every windblown word!!! Ice cream will never be the same for me!! Bree and Max were just phenomenal together. Reading their story and their backgrounds, and the way they kept coming back to each other never realizing that they felt the same. SIGH… I am just glad they BOTH got their heads out of their a… butts and realized what they meant to each other. This is the second book in this wonderful crazy series, and just as well written as the first. I cannot wait to read the next and to see what happens to the wonderful doctors. I was gifted with a copy of this wonderful book for my honest opinion. Do you love a great romance novel? Then this book is definitely for you. Thank you for reading my review.

Another AH-MAZING book from Erin Nicholas! In Tangled Up, you get to hear Max and Bree's story. If you haven't read Twisted Up yet, don't worry! It's stand alone, but the books take place at the same time, so you'll want to make sure you read the other story. (It was fabulous too!) This is a best-friends-to-lovers story, with a TWIST(ER)! Max knows Bree so well, he believes she is incapable of commitment. Bree knows Max so well, she believes him when he says so! In true Erin Nicholas fashion, she weaves the story in and out, so you never know which way the happily ever after will happen. BUT, it always is wonderful when it works out at the end! I cannot wait for Kit and Dillon's story!!!

a tornado wasn't the only thing to hit the small town of Chance. Love is in the air and we saw that in the first book in this series with Jake and Avery. I loved that story and we met Max and Bree in the first book, but now we get to hear their love story. There isn't anything about this series that I don't love. There is just something about storms that make you want to be close to someone you love and Max and Bree have a love for each other but it's more of the best friend type love. Max is the big teddy bear kind of guy that every girl would love to have as her best friend and Bree is the daredevil spirited soul. Max is in love with Bree and does endless crazy vacations and trips with her which feeds his love for her. Until the tornado they both thought they would always be just friends but the storm stirred up a lot more than just buildings and farmland. Feelings and love were all over Chance. Erin Nicholas writes some of the most heartwarming and endearing romances and relationships that are built from such a solid friendship can always go far. I love that this series is told during the same timeframe as the first book but from the other couples perspective. Now that I know what to expect I can't wait for Kit and Dillon's story.

When choosing a new book, it’s the title and the cover that attract you. It’s the words on the cover that make you want to open the book. But the author must then write a story that interests you, and they must develop characters that you like and relate too. In Tangled Up, Erin Nicholas does just that. This is the story of Max and Bree. Best Friends, who fall in love. This is about the city of Chance, and the people who grew up there. Let’s face it there are a million books a million authors. The books contain a city, and people. Boy, girl, but what makes Erin continue to bring me back to her books are the way the characters relate. The stories they tell. When you can’t wait to meet all the characters. When you want to laugh with them, and see their lives unfold. When you’re counting down the days until the next book. You’ve found an author to celebrate. Laughing, talking out loud to the characters, crying and cheering them on. how you know you’ve found a good book, good characters, a good story. I loved Max and Bree. No surprise. I pretty much love all the characters I meet in Erin Nicholas’ books, and it's not just the great sex. It's the characters. I love that Max adores Bree, that Bree listens and learns from Max, but is still strong and independent. I love that the adventures they share make them stronger even in the face of adversity. I recommend all books by Erin Nicholas. You’re going to love the people you meet in Tangled Up, and you’ll be counting down the day until you return to Chance.

Erin Nicholas never fails to impress me with her writing. Max is a storm chaser tangling with his own personal storm, and Bree, is a police officer, who will try to help him weather the storm. Erin Nicholas' characters are so real they can be your neighbors, your friends, or your sons and daughters. You gain an affinity for these people and you will share their emotions in this story through her writing. This is another wonderful story that I believe you will enjoy.

This is book 2 in the Taking Chances series and it features that ever sexy Max Grady and Officer Bree McDermott. My heart bled for Max throughout most of this book. Loving someone who you were sure didn't love you back the same way. They were best friends. They talked about everything but what was deepest in their hearts. It was just that old situation of miscommunication. It gets us every time! Fantastic book with sexy, funny, brooding, well developed characters and a great story line! I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

Bree and Max grew up together. Max has wanted more from Bree but when he tried it didn't go well. Bree is scared to take things with Max further until he starts to question if she can really stick to anything. Twister hits the town and things heat up for Bree and Max now they need to figure out how they fight together.

Erin Nicholas has always found great little towns for her stories to take place and Chance, Nebraska is no exception. Add a storm chaser, a police officer, and some cousins all getting together for their class reunion in a town known to have tornadoes touch down and you have the making of another great story by Ms. Nicholas. Friends to Lovers is one of my favorite themes and Max and Bree do not disappoint in the category. Friends since kindergarten and even trying the dating scene in high school they have decided they are better off as friends. Now they take trips together and Max is teaching Bree about storm chasing. When they chase a storm just outside the city limits the storm may not be the only thing that gets their adrenaline flowing.

TANGLED UP, the second book in Erin Nicholas's Taking Chances series was fantastic! Max and Bree, the two thrillseekers, and best friends since childhood were a perfect match. I really liked that Max is the first to realize he's in love and that he wants them to seek adventures together forever. Once again EN had my complete interest right from the first page. Terrific characters, humorous dialogue, engaging storyline, hot steamy sex scenes, and the setting of Chance, Nebraska... okay mainly the folks who live in Chance and are so easy to love. All great. You won't want to miss this one. 4.5 stars ~I downloaded a complimentary copy from NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are solely mine.

Excellent book! I think book 2 in the Taking Chances series is just as good as book 1...maybe even better. At first I didn't realize Tangled Up was running parallel to Twisted Up (book 1). I kept thinking "oh not another bad twister....these poor people" but then things were like a recap of the previous story. I love the side by side of these stories...you get to see things from multiple sets of eyes. I have to say, there were times I wanted to smack Bree upside her head. Bree and Max are perfect for each other...both stubborn and set in their self destuctive ways. Neither seeing what is right in front of their face. Both nearly passing up the chance for a forever kind of love. I very much enjoyed the adrenaline bursts from reading this story (both parts of the barn had me on the edge of my seat). Tangled Up was the perfect mixture of romance, seriousness and excitement. Another well written story by Ms Nicholas. Can't wait for a book 3???

I really like Erin Nicholas' stories. And I really love the best friends to lovers themes. This one a lot. Bree was fascinating to me. She was full of life, a hard charger, and wanted to do everything. I hated the parts where she doubted herself, these made me feel sad for her. She was so vivacious that I wanted to smack Max upside the head. He was gorgeous, supportive, and a great guy, but he made me crazy at times. I loved that he wanted Bree more than anything, but I didn't like his doubts. There was a part towards the end where Bree gave a speech that had my heart swelling and tears in my eyes because what she said was just so beautiful and profound in her relationship with Max. I loved this story from beginning to end and will gladly read it over and over. It will be one that I would love a revisit several years in the future.

Tangled Up by Erin Nicholas......Wow, another fantastic story from this amazing author. This book had me turning pages so fast with all the Thrill seeking, romance and love. Max and Bree are both thrill seekers and friends, but Max has loved Bree forever. It was so fun to watch this story unfold. I would highly recommend this book. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book from publisher via NetGalley.

After reading Jake and Avery's book, I was really looking forward to reading Max and Bree's book. I also can't wait to read Dillon and Kit's book. It was nice seeing how things from Jake and Avery's book carried over into this book. Max and Bree have been best friends for most of their lives. Max is back in town for their 10 year high school reunion when an EF4 tornado hits Chance, Nebraska for the third year in a row. Max is a storm chaser and Bree loves going with him. They're out on the road when the tornado hits and they have to take cover in a ditch. Some things happen in that ditch that send them down a completely different road than they've ever traveled before. This isn't your standard friends to lovers story. These friends have tried the lovers route over the years with no success. Will they find their way to HEA? It's definitely worth reading to find out how they do. I loved the Sapphire Falls connection that popped up as well.

Tangled Up is the second book in the Taking Chances series centered around the town of Chance, Nebraska and Town's weird phenomenal pattern of tornadoes. Remember what feelings happens in a ditch sometimes doesn't stay in the ditch. In Tangled Up, we get Bree and Max's story of friends to lovers. Bree is an adrenaline junkie that works hard but plays even harder. Max is her best friends and partner in crime when it comes to high pressured adventure. When Max takes Bree out to storm chase to watch for tornadoes they find themselves in a ditch clinging to each other has a tornado passes over them. The wild emotions fly has they share a kiss. Max has been in love with Bree forever and thinks the sudden kissing is caused by the near mess of the tornadoes. As Max and Bree help rebuild their hometown after a EF4 pass through, Bree has to figure out if her sudden feelings for Max are real or just an after effect of the storm. I loved the connection that Bree and Max have and I was routing for them throughout the book. I loved that Bree was able to discover things that she didn't know about herself and show Max that he was wrong about some of his assumptions about her. Like most of Erin Nicholas's book I got a sudden craving for food products (wink wink). I think the best part of the book is all the analogies about ice cream flavours. Like I said before this is the second book in the Taking Chances series. Twisted Up is the 1st book. They are both standalone novels but take place around the same time period. I recommend that you read them together only because you will love Avery and Jake's story just as much. I can't wait for the third book to come out with Kit and Dillon's story.

Tangled Up is book #2 in Erin's Taking Chances Series which takes place in Chance, Nebraska. This is Max and Bree's story which centers around the time of an EF4 Tornado hits their town. Max and Bree have been best friends since they were little kids always doing daring stuff together and constantly on the go. Max is a storm chaser and Bree is a local cop in her hometown. They are both very passionate characters and where max loves the job he does and is looking to maybe slow down and possibly settle down back in his hometown, Bree can't seem to spend long in any given profession - she always needs to be on the go and is even considering taking a job outside of Chance. Max seems to be the more romantic of the two, but Bree can be when she puts her mind to it. I love nothing better than a friends-to-lovers romance and nobody writes them like Erin Nicholas does!! Erin really takes you on a whirlwind journey with these two as they try to find out if they can be more than just friends? or Let things stay the way they are? It is 100% an emotional read as these best friends realise that they don't actually know the other one as well as they thought and things aren't always how they seem. Any fan of Erin Nicholas must read this!! It has Love, Laughter, Tears, some OH WOW moments and is a feel good all around read

wow what an amazing 2nd book! i didn't think i could love this series more than i do right now. i have laughed, cried, yelled, and my heart is so happy right now. Bree is an energetic, strong willed thrill seeker. She is always on the go and trying new things. She loves helping out her community of Change and loves ice cream also :-) Bree has always loved learning new skills. She is best friends with Max. Max is a work hard, play hard kind of man. He loves storm chasing and doing construction and lives in Oklahoma. He is in Chance for the week to help with the reconstruction from the tornado that just hit. Bree and him are working as a team to get the projects on track. while they are working together something keeps sparking between them but does it ignite?

Loved the story of Max and Bree, friends to lovers story. Max and Bree have been friends forever and afraid to take it to the next level but Max is ready to settle down. Bree, on the other hand, lives life to the fullest and always wants new adventures. From chasing tornadoes, rebuilding and eating hot fudge sundaes, they soon find out their chemistry is hot but is it enough for a lifetime. I fell in love with Max, such a giving person and supporting Bree with her carefree attitude. Love the small town of Chance and catching up with other town people, now I'm looking forward to Dillon and Kit's story. I'm now off to eat my own hot fudge sundae. I highly recommend this story!!

This is the 2nd book in the Taking Chances series by Erin Nicholas and I loved it just as much as the first book ( Twisted Up). The setting of this book runs concurrently with the first book but follows its own story line. Chance NE is a small town with all the hallmarks associated with small town life... neighbors helping neighbors and a strong sense of family and community. Max and Bree have been best friends since early childhood and have had many adventures together. Max knows that Bree is an adrenaline junkie and that she loves to do anything that is daring and exciting. He feels deep down that even though he loves her and wants to settle down with her that she is not capable of sticking with a relationship for any length of time. Bree is concerned that if she admits her true feelings that she will lose her friendship with Max. She loves how he supports her in her adventures but questions as well if she can settle down and make a relationship stick. The story follows them as they deal with the aftermath of a tornado in their hometown (where Bree is a police officer and Max is a storm chaser/ weather expert who is in town for a high school reunion.) They grow closer and they have their share of adventures. But the question remains... can they overcome the hurdles that they both perceive are standing in the path to their HEA? This is another winner from Erin Nicholas and I would recommend it highly. I am definitely looking forward to the next book in the series with Kit and Dillon!

This is a very fun, entertaining, action packed Friends to Lovers Romance with a Tomboy Girl Next Door Twist. The setting and people grab you and pull you into the story of a small town that is known for being a Tornado Magnet. The key to this towns quick recovery each time is the people that call it home. Max and Bree Grow up literately next door to each other. Despite all they have in common including the need for an adrenaline rush these two are complete opposites when it comes to love. So much fun watching them try and figure out if they can take all they have together and make it last. Looking forward to my next visit to Chance, Nebraska.

Max and Bree are best friends and love adventure. And Max loves Bree. But after dating in High School for a short time, Bree broke up with him because he was boring. When Max comes in to town for their high school reunion and a tornado hits they team up to do some storm chasing...and when the tornado is barreling towards them and they hit the ditch on the side of the road, their adrenaline takes them to another level in their relationship. Bree isn't sure if she's just turned on by Max because her life was in danger and her endorphins were stirred up or if she really loves him. Max is afraid that Bree will get bored and hurt him...again. Max wants to move back home but will Bree still want him around when he is there all the time? I loved that the characters were true to their feelings and that you got glimpses of what else was going on during the tornado. The second book in the Taking Chances series by Erin Nicholas takes place concurrently with Twisted Up (Jake and Avery's story).
