I haven’t been back to Sweetwater, Texas, in years but somehow, here I am—back where it all started. I’m still trying to figure out how. And of course, I don’t even make it out of the airport before I run into my ex—the entire reason why I left Sweetwater in the first place.

Horse wrangler Roarke Frost’s shoulders are just as broad as I remember, that crooked smile of his still in place, and my heart is melting like chocolate in the sizzling Texas sun. Stupid heart. But worse, we’re supposed to play nice together to pull off a Christmas festival in record time, which is the key to launching my new business.

Now we’re working side by side to save injured animals, setting up a bid-on-a-cowboy auction, and he’s pushing for a second chance. But I know he’s still keeping a secret that could tear us apart if I give him an inch.

I’ll definitely need to dodge the spiked eggnog if I want to stay tangled up in Christmas, and not tangled up in Roarke again…

Lisa Renee Jones’ writing is so descriptive that I found myself transported to Sweetwater, Texas. Tangled Up In Christmas is a second chance at love story that will draw you in and have you invested from the first chapter. There was something about Roarke Frost that drew me in almost as much as it did our heroine Hannah. Even though she knows he is not right for her, after all she believes he cheated on her when they were engaged, when Hannah returns to town she cannot help but get involved with him again. The chemistry is just as intense as it always has been. This was a passionate, heartwarming and fun book, full of laughter, a little drama and was one of those books I didn’t want to put down. The writing was strong and the characters had a great deal of depth to them and made them easy to relate and like. Can Roarke and Hannah finally get the happily ever after they deserve or will her family pull them apart again?

I love Roarke and Hannah. Their love story is sweet, heartwarming, and not the easiest to get to. Betrayal, misunderstandings, and forgiveness all play a huge role. I was fascinated by Roarke in the first book and his story was more than I could have imagined. These characters feel like friends and everyone needs a Martha and Ruth. I particularly enjoyed the catch up with Jessica and Jason. Sweetwater is an endearing setting. The ending is perfect and the added bonus story was a pleasant surprise.

Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for an early copy of this book. This was a bit of a surprise, as it was a second chance romance. LRJ doesn't typically do second chance romances, but I enjoyed it. Had some secrets, some mystery, and a lot of LRJ flair.

Tangled up in Christmas & Santa Baby by Lisa Renee Jones Two holiday stories with happily ever afters in one volume! The first, Tangled Up In Christmas, sees Hannah and Rourke get a second chance after six years apart. There are some issues they both need to deal with before they can move on into an even stronger relationship than they had before. Small town romance between two people that definitely belonged together. The second book, Santa Baby, has Caron late to get dressed for a fashion show, put into a Marilyn Monroe rather than Audrey Hepburn costume and in that costume perhaps channeling a bit of Marilyn. Having caught Baxter Remington’s eye she has the night of life thinking it is a one off...but perhaps he thinks it could be more. What a sizzling little story this was! Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for the ARC – this is my honest review. 4 Stars

Tangled Up in Christmas is the perfect second chance holiday romance of 2019! Hannah was delightful to get to know. She knows her self worth in everything she does, but in the area of her heart it only beats for one man. Hannah returns to Sweetwater, Texas the town she was born and raised in, now her past smacks her right in the face. Should she stay or run? One things for sure Roarke can still melt her insides with a look. Roarke is a hottie, but his real appeal was his huge heart and his unwavering love. Roarke is known as the Horse Wrangler and is a huge YouTube star. Roarke has a secret that could make an already messed up reunion turn more ugly once the truth is revealed. The question he seems to be asking himself is which side will he be on when Hannah gets the truth. Roarke and Hannah have a past where young love thrived that was until growing up and real life intervened. I really enjoyed the chemistry between these two characters, a real life romance with real life issues. Will Roarke’s secret change the course of their lives or will their love be strong enough to with stand anything? I have to say I laughed hard with every bathroom meet up between. The supporting characters are Jason, Jessica, Linda, Martha, Ruth, Hannah’s parents and Roarke’s dad, they all have a huge part in Roarke and Hannah’s life. They gave when it was called for, but let them be to hash out what was obviously still there. The plot of Tangled Up in Christmas was wrote in true Lisa Renee Jones fashion strong characters both main and supporting in which I hope to hear much more about. Plot that shows the true meaning of love and the holiday spirit. It’s a book I could not put down! Rated 5 Stilettos and a Recommended Read by Deb!

Hannah is 28 and she runs into Roarke, who told her to go six years ago. Let's just say their timing stinks and Roarke, he finally has things to say to her after telling her to GO and then never talking to her. Will this Christmas prove their timing can work and can Roarke make amends?
BookAngel_Emma 13 days ago
Tangled Up in Christmas certainly sets the holiday mood with a heartwarming second-chance romance. Roarke and Hannah grew-up together including Jason from The Truth About Cowboys, their families were the best of friends until they weren’t. It is this divide that is the epicentre of the plot. What caused the rift and why are Hannah’s parents set against her returning to Sweetwater. Roarke and Hannah became so much more than friends after Hannah graduated from college. However, their visions of happily ever after were purposely destroyed and their heart along with them. Although both Roarke and Hannah have never quite gotten over their feelings for the other. Hannah fled Sweetwater when her heart was broken to pursue a career in photography only to return following a false accusation placed against her boss and affecting her reputation in the fashion world along with it. Although Hannah’s true love is photographing the animals and horses she adores so much. Returning to Sweetwater and embarking on a new career ensures Hannah has to deal with all of the messy emotions and secrets she left behind including Roarke. Tangled Up in Christmas ties The Truth About Cowboys into the plot perfectly allowing a deeper understanding of both of the books in the series as well as the individual characters. Hindsight and maturity allow both Roarke and Hannah to analyse their history more objectively and as such move forward with their own lives. Tangled Up in Christmas perfectly captures the feeling of hope and blessings the holiday season is portrayed as having. Heart-warming romance at it’s finest

Holy cow! When I first read the blurb for this book along with the title, I was thinking it was going to be a light hearted, mushy, sweet Christmas story. But it is more than that. I could feel the anguish coming off the pages for Hannah and it some parts Roarke. The pain, loneliness, and vulnerability she felt hit me so hard. I am not sure if it is because of my current mindset or my emotions all over the place right now in my own life, but Hannah's feelings are so powerful from the very beginning. I loved Roarke throughout this whole story. He never wavered in his love or feelings for Hannah. He pursued her and reminded her of their powerful love. Then together they healed, realized what was most important, and fought for their life together. Happy heart by the end of their beautiful story! I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the publisher through Netgalley.

This is the second book in the series and I did not read the first book. It can certainly stand alone but I'm sure you're missing out on a great read to get Jason's story. Tangled up in Christmas is a second chance romance. Hannah is coming back to Texas after things do not send well for her in LA. She is looking forward to seeing get own business as an event planner. When she gets an unexpected brush with her ex in the airport men's room she's hoping that's the last she'll see of him. Fate steps in and gives them the opportunity to find their way back to reach other. Rourke is a nurturing local vet that goes above and beyond to care for the animals. He made mistakes with Hannah in the past, not the ones she thinks he did. But secrets and lies tore then assist once and he's not giving up his second chance. Rourke is playing for keeps this time.

I have read other books by this author and have not been disappointed, and the same can be said for this one. My only issue is not even with the book but in me and the timing of when I started reading this book. I was a little (well maybe a lot) busy and spent many evenings reading a chapter or two before bed. Roarke and Hannah were madly in love for a time until they were ripped apart by forces unknown to Hannah. Now, years later, she has to return home and is soon enough thrust back into Roarke’s world. She is a photographer and when a friend gets injured and can not make a shoot she sends Hannah in her place. While shooting Roarke and the horses, it transports her back to their summer of love. When a horse gets spooked and Roarke moves Hannah out of the way, “the sting” can be felt through the pages. While watching him with the horses, Hannah starts having all the long buried feelings rise up again and they start to confuse her on where she stands and what she needs to do. Roarke does anything he can to try and keep Hannah, but fears once she finds out what happened years ago that she’ll leave him again. I did like the fact that it was a slow build to their HEA. It is filled with joy, hope, understanding and is the perfect read to get you in the Christmas spirit. I received this as an ARC for my honest and voluntary review. ARC provided by Netgalley

If you have read THE TRUTH ABOUT COWBOYS then you know Roarke, he is the Vet in the town of Sweetwater and best friend to Jason, this is his story. I was really looking forward to reading about Roarke and learning more about this brooding cowboy because we all know that someone broke his heart at some point we just didn't know who or how, well we get all the answers we were looking for in this book. Hannah is returning to Texas after working in California for a few years, her boss got caught up in the #MeToo movement and she was blacklisted along with him because of her association to him...I will admit, this didn't sit right with me but I guess it was a good excuse for her to return home, anyway, she is starting her own business as an Event Planner and her first major event is going to land her right smack into the person she was hoping to avoid at all costs, Roarke. So that's the basis around the story now here's my dilemma, I liked the book I really did I just didn't love it so do I rate it as three or four stars? Well I went with three and this is why: Was the chemistry there? Yes absolutely but..... Did they work things out before jumping into bed? NO absolutely not and I think this is where I have my biggest issue. I get the not wanting to keep your hands off one another but there was a big reason as to why you broke up in the first place so the trust is gone and before you have any discussion about it you're fooling around, to me that was just rushed and unnecessary we knew they still cared very deeply for one another so them having sex so quickly to me minimized the reasoning on why they were apart for so long. Were they keeping Secrets? Of Course there were secrets, some were big and some not so big but a complete shocker none the less. I understand the reasoning behind one but not the other so there's that. And then there's Hannah's family, for me their story line gave me whiplash, when you read the book you'll understand why. I recommend this book for lovers of Cowboy/Western Romances, Second Chance Romances, and lovers of Lisa Renee Jones' books. This book is highly rated by other advanced readers and like I said I did enjoy it so I really hope you do grab a copy and give Hannah and Roarke's Christmas Love Story a chance. Happy Reading!!! **I have voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Readers Copy of this book for my Blog, Nadine's Obsessed with Books**

Tangled Up In Christmas is book 2 in The Texas Heat series by Lisa Renee Jones. This is Roarke and Hannah’s story and is a great second chance romance. This book is a little different from most of this authors books but she doesn’t disappoint. I loved this book and highly recommend it!!

If you wanted a book featuring Roarke, and I did, it's finally here! This is a second chance romance and it's the best! Roarke's unwavering love for Hannah is swoon-worthy! It's been six years since they last laid eyes on each other. She can't get away from him quick enough. But she finds herself having to work with him back in Sweetwater as she helps prepare the Christmas Festival. The more time they spend together she's reminded of their past friendship and the attraction that still burns hot between them. There are things he wants to clarify about the past, that are always on the tip of his tongue, he's just afraid that it will make her run again. I did not want this book to end! I read it as slowly as possible just to make it last longer. There is definitely a HEA here and a sweet surprise towards the end. Thanks to Entangled Publishing and NetGalley, I received this ARC for an honest review. #TangledUpInChristmas #NetGalley

This is book #2, in the Texas Heat series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. For reader enjoyment, and to avoid spoilers, I recommend reading these in order intended by the author. Hannah returns to her hometown in this story about the holidays and second chances. She has to meet up with an Ex-fiance' and others who watched her grow up. It is a little bit of eating humble pie, and a lot of resisting the charms of the only man she has ever loved. Roarke wants the woman he loves back. Theirs is a story that puts the word complicated to shame. She thinks he cheated on him, and he was only a victim of someone else's plot. Can he win her back on the merits of the fact they know one another like no other? This story was challenging and pulls on the heart strings. Seeing a couple still so much in love be apart and still get through the day is hard. Told in a way that it just makes you appreciate romance books - this is a book that will take your heart and help it fly. I found the characters to be deep and compelling and I cannot wait for another installment of this series. ***This ARC copy was given by Netgalley and its publishers, in exchange for an honest review only.

She left Sweetwater, Texas and horse wrangler Roarke Frost behind when he broke her heart but now fate sends her back in a wicked twists and she runs smack into the man again. No matter how much she tries to get tangled up in Christmas, she ends up tangled in Roarke instead and he feel like Mr. Right, but history says he’s Mr. Wrong. So if Roarke wants a second chance he’ll have to prove that this holiday is a season of new beginnings, the kind that last forever. This holiday romance is very emotional but heartwarming and full of Christmas spirit. The characters are strong, compelling and easily draw readers into their story which has a complicated and heartbreaking past. The hero and heroine still has oodles of sizzling chemistry but the relationship has some emotionally turbulent obstacles to overcome and some secrets that have to be revealed which keeps reader glued to the pages of this second chance romance. The holiday makes reaching for that second chance even more heartwarming and special throughout the steady pace of putting together a Christmas festival and the entire story has lots of holiday spirited events peppered throughout that really warms the heart and makes readers feel happy and good. The author paints such vivid imagery that readers feel as if they are part of the story which makes it easy to become completely captivated by the hero and heroine of this holiday romance.

It's been a long time since I've read LRJ and this blurb made me snap up this holiday story but I just didn't connect with any of the characters. I loved the animal rescue, the small town vibe, and the holiday festival. There was a lot about this book that I couldn't get past: the, what seemed to me, dismissal of #MeToo and the insinuation that you should always forgive family regardless of their actions were two that I couldn't get over. I never connected to any of the characters- the main ones from this story and the one before it. I think I'll skip the rest of this series.

Solid 4.5 This is the perfect second chance cowboy read about 2 people who were too young when they first got together but now have another shot at love if only they can get past the secrets and lies and be honest with each other. You can't help but love Hannah especially with how torn she is over Roarke and their past while you feel for Roarke once you find out what really happened when they were younger. The supporting characters just top off this great read and you get to enjoy heartbreak, surprises, worry bout secrets from the past, lots of laughs, great cookies and the hope that true love never goes away.

Ooh. Second chance romance. One of my favourite genres. Add in hot cowboys, and I’m a gonner. I adored sexy horse wrangler, Roarke Frost, he pushed all my buttons, sweet and sexy with a heart of gold. Who it seems has been carrying a torch for Hannah for the past 7 years. That’s not all. There’s that huge secret that he’s keeping from her, and he has no clue how, or even if, he should tell her. Even though Hannah thinks that Roarke cheated on her back in the day, she still can’t find that special someone to even remotely make her forget Roarke. A light easy read with a few little twists. Highly enjoyable, I’m just loving Sweetwater and all it’s residents. I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. This is my honest review.

***I received a copy of this book from NetGalley*** Roarke and Hannah were meant to be. Life and people tend to get in the way of love. Roarke and Hannah had a rough go in the beginning but love prevailed. This was a wonderful second chance romance!! I definitely recommend this book.

***4 Stars*** My head hurts. It really does. Roarke and Hannah took me on one heck of a ride. A ride I was all in for. But hot d#$%. The yo-yo’ing these two did just about killed me ~ though if it had, it would have been my own fault because I kept turning the pages to see what would happen next, but I needed to see just how everything would work it self for Roarke and Hannah in the end. I really liked Hannah and Roarke. Roarke is a good man. Compassionate, passionate and determined. Hannah is sweet, creative and motivated. But when it came to their second chance at love journey...OMG they drove me bsc ~ Hannah more than Roarke in all honesty (wishy washy people drive me insane and considering I’m a Libra and am well versed in wishy washy it says a lot) ~ but they both definitely had their moments, in the past and the present. Thank goodness for their friends, family and just the nosy as all get out people of Sweetwater for making both of them see the error of their ways and finally get on the same page, because even through everything I knew that they were it for each other. This one was definitely a rollercoaster of a ride, but worth it in the end. I loved catching up with Jason, Jessica and Martha and loved meeting Ruth ~ who was so much fun! I’m crossing my toes that we’ll get to spend a little more time in Sweetwater because there were a couple of interesting moments that I think could develop into a whole lot more! ~ Copy provided by the publisher via NetGalley & voluntarily reviewed ~

3.75 stars--TANGLED UP IN CHRISTMAS is the second instalment in Lisa Renee Jones’ contemporary, adult TEXAS HEAT erotic, romance series. This is veterinarian Roarke Frost, and photographer Hannah’s story line. TANGLE UP IN CHRISTMAS can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary. We were first introduce to Roarke in book one The Truth About Cowboys. Told from dual first person perspectives (Hannah and Roarke) TANGLED UP IN CHRISTMAS follows the second chance romance and relationship between twenty eight year old photographer Hannah, and thirty four year old veterinarian Roarke Frost. Roarke and Hannah had been best friends all of their lives but seven years earlier betrayal broke Hannah’s heart sending our heroine to Los Angeles, California. Engaged to be married to the man that she loves, Hannah is destroyed when a video surfaces betraying everything she ever loved about Roarke and the small town of Sweetwater, Texas. Fast forward to present day wherein Hannah heads home to Texas in an effort to restart her career, a career destroyed by jealousy and revenge. To Hannah’s surprise and misery, she will come face to face with her past, a past she has never stopped loving but a past she is unable to forgive or forget. Enter veterinarian Roarke Frost. What ensues is the rebuilding relationship and romance between Roarke and Hannah, and the potential fall-out when the truth is revealed. Hannah ran from Sweetwater, Texas in an effort to forget about the man that she loved. Destroyed by betrayal, Hannah struggled to move on with her life, always comparing every man to the one that she lost. Roarke Frost never got the chance to defend himself, and in this, our hero struggled to move on from the past. A successful veterinarian on the horse circuit, Roarke pushed himself in an effort to forget about the woman that ran away. The relationship between Hannah and Roarke is one of second chances: a rebuilding friendship and romance between two people destroyed by someone else’s vindictiveness, jealousy, greed and anger. The town of Sweetwater, Texas believed that Hannah and Roarke were always meant to be but only a few people knew what happened to destroy their life-long love affair. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text. There is a large ensemble cast of colorful secondary and supporting characters including Jason and Jessica (The Truth About Cowboys #1); Hannah’s business partner Linda Moore; Roarke’s grandmother Ruth; Jason’s grandmother Martha; Hannah’s parents; Mayor Luke Combs, as well as a number of veterinary interns. TANGLED UP IN CHRISTMAS is a story of betrayal and vengeance; forgiveness and moving forward; second chances and love. The premise is sexy and inviting; the characters are flirty and sassy; the romance is spicy and seductive. The angst level is low; there is no suspense or threats from an outside source; the conflict resolution is tender and realistic. TANGLED UP IN CHRISTMAS is a delightful addition to the author’s TEXAS HEAT series. There is also a surprise addition to the ARC-a copy of a previously released holiday novella SANTA BABY by Lisa Renee Jones
