I really loved the new teaser short story from JG Sauer. Ms. Sauer’s new characters in Guardian are really unique. I’m always amazed when authors can come up with and develop characters with such unusual talents and personalities. Brava, Joni. I’m really looking forward to the new series. If the cover is any indications (pant, pant) we can anticipate not only great stories and plot lines but some steam too!

This short story is an introduction to a new paranormal romance/adventure series  Evan Coulter is an ex Army Ranger Major who has been  separated from the military in disgrace under mysterious conditions. We don't know what happened, but  I'm hoping we find out about in later books. He is recruited by a mysterious entrepreneurial patriot who needs Evan to take charge of a ragtag team that recovers paranormal artifacts from around the world in order to keep the world safe from those who might choose to use the power of the artifacts to control world events. Each person on Evan's new team has special gifts that should prove exciting to read about in future books; one is psychic, one is pyrokinetic, and one can channel electricity. For me this story was a cross between The Librarian and Torchwood (without the aliens), with a little A-Team thrown in. The author writes amazing dialogue passages.  I felt like a fly on the wall, and could actually hear each person speaking. Her visual descriptions are so vivid, that it's not hard to picture each setting, and I really did feel like I was there in the story. I am so looking forward to the first full novel, "Search For The Mystic Stone"! The author gives us a little taste of that to whet our appetites at the conclusion of Tarnished Guardian.  I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS NEXT!
