Remember the innocence of childhood and simpler times? Making snow angels, catching fireflies, running through the lawn sprinkler? Searching for animal shapes in the clouds, chasing butterflies, blowing dandelion fuzz into the wind? How about sticking your tongue out and Tasting Rain? Kim Malchuk is a storyteller...and what a storyteller she is! Malchuk has quite an inspiring story to share. "Tasting Rain" is a story of soul mates. It is a journey of devoted love, heartbreaking loss, brokenness, courage, strength, perseverance, healing, and tears that fell like rain. Along this journey, we are encouraged to stop and smell the roses. When we take the time to notice the little miracles that had been previously overlooked, we will be amazed at the gifts we receive ~ like a single white feather falling gracefully to the ground out of the clear, blue sky. As readers turn over the final page, they will find that Malchuk's story is one of triumph, absolute surrender, the resiliency of the human spirit and life's lessons learned. She calls those lessons "Kiminitions." Our individual circumstances may be unique, but hers is a story in which we can all find ourselves, because we have all faced challenges. "Tasting Rain" is one woman's story of hitting rock bottom and her gradual emergence from the ashes as a Phoenix, only to discover the gifts yielded by the storm. While Malchuk may be an ordinary woman, her writing talent is most certainly extraordinary. Her writing style is gentle and unassuming, warm and inviting ~ so much so that it is nearly impossible to put down "Tasting Rain." And yet, she tells it how she sees it and does not pull any punches. Malchuk is the real deal. The way in which she has written "Tasting Rain" is so heartfelt, her readers will feel as though the author is sitting beside them on the sofa, coffee in hand ~ enjoying a conversation with a dear friend. I did not want our visit to end. I'll have another cup o' jo please! "Tasting Rain" is a book about choices. It has been said that the average American adult is faced with 35,000 choices per day. Have you ever thought about where you would be had you not followed your inner voice, your intuition, and gone down a different path? We would not be where we are today if not for all the choices we have made. However, we are always in our right place even when life gets tough. Will you spread your wings, as the butterfly, and take to the skies? Will you stay stuck? Or, will you trust your inner voice to lead you to the life of your dreams? The choice is yours. When was the last time you stopped to taste the rain?
