Overview

This contemporary mystery/thriller is the first in a planned series featuring Bobby McRae, a former decorated soldier in an undercover diplomatic unit. After his separation from service under strange circumstances his unorthodox career arc takes him to Hollywood as a top executive at a film and television studio. When the allure of Tinseltown fades for McRae, he moves to Charleston to live the life of a "Southern country gentleman." Then a former Los Angeles business associate arrives on the doorstep of his rustic cabin outside town - unexpected and very dead- and McRae has to call on all of his skills and resources to find out who murdered him and why.

About the Author

Bill Farley’s career in print and broadcast journalism has taken him from local crime scenes to the Apollo 11 launch and from politics and domestic riots to many of the most important sports events in America, from NFL football to the Olympics, the Kentucky Derby the Indianapolis 500 and more. For nearly 25 years, he was a senior executive at Playboy Enterprises, Inc., serving as Vice President, Marketing, President of the company’s famed model agency and media spokesman for its founder, Hugh M. Hefner. Since arriving in Charleston he was published nearly 300 newspaper and magazine articles on a wide range of topics. His previous novel, “Sex..In the Crosshairs” fictionalized the upheavals in the adult entertainment industry during the 1980s and 1990s.
